RE: Trailer brake wiring help! (the wires into the wheels)

You didn't actually turn the axles over right? You are just moving the springs to the top or bottom whatever may be? Most axles have a bend in them to give them caster and when weight is applied it straightens them out.

RE: HELP, Smelly Bathroom

Couple things come to mind.
Possibly water has evaporated from one of the traps, kitchen, bath or washer hookup if you have one:
Did you have the fantastic fan running in the unit with no windows open?

RE: Keeping battery charged...

LOL! Gator, we knew what you meant to say, don't sweat it. Some folks need precision in definition :) We are all here to help one another (or at least I hope so). Enjoy your travels and camping! :)

RE: Keeping battery charged...

If you are going to leave it for months on end, take the battery out of it where you can monitor it. Leaving it connected if you don't have everything turned off you will kill it. If you leave it plugged in you're likely to overcharge and boil the battery dry. Most converters I find are not good managers of batteries left to themselves for long periods.

RE: Crossing the border to Canada, RV checks

We crossed in Buffalo last September with no issues going into canada. Coming back we had a woman who was trying to prove she could be 3 times more rude than any man. Fortunately we finally got passed through but with suspicion on her mind for some reason. We are from Ohio

RE: Looking for a good source for transfer tank for diesel

I bought mine from Northern tools, it is a RDS 51 gallon tank with a shallow tool box on top. I installed a holley fuel pump to move the fuel and bought the connect kit for the main tank which includes some hose but the tee you need with the check valve. Usually after I get the fuel started the tank will gravity fill from there. The good thing about it is we can drive all day on the aux tank and still have the main tank in reserve. That way we can unhitch if at a campground and just drive the truck to the fuel station without the rv attached! Oh, I hooked up the fuel pump to a switch inside the cab. I acutally now have 2 switches for safety. One turns power on to the switch and the other is a momentary switch, that I have to hold to run the pump. The concenquences of forgetting to shut the switch off and have a leak develop are not so pretty :) . You can buy an automatic switching system also that will pull fuel from the aux tank and also combine it with a level meter so you have an ""a and a "b" tank. I paid about $500 for the tank but that was a year and a half ago and it was on sale and the install kit was about $70 or so plus shipping.
