RE: Source for sheepskin seat covers ??

My best experience was the local yellow pages. I found a Sheepskin dealer in town and he had just what I wanted and you could see the samples. He also custom fit.

Know a good alternative to Garmin Basecamp

I love my Garmin but hate their Basecamp. It has to be the most user unfriendly way of mapping trips to download I have used. Their old Mapsource was fine. Even considering an alternate gps if it has user friendly mapping for my pc.

RE: Solar so cheap that cells can be wasted

I noticed on the spec. at the website, that the 45W. weighed 20 #. The 40W panel next to it weighed 10 # while only being a inches in L & W shorter. As I would plan on a portable panel being used as a battery maintainer while my RV was in storage for my house and chassis batteries, carrying this to the roof of my RV would be noticeable. Does it really weigh twice as much, 20# vs. 10#. Why would that be for almost the same size panel?

RE: Brand of CB you use and why

Have a Cobra with the weather channel, hardly ever use it,however just a few days ago it saved me a bunch of time. Northbound on Calif 15 and a traffic back up and advisery for a detour off the freeway.. Anyway it was a 7 mile back up, a motorcyclist killed while lane splitting. Anyway a trucker said they just opened up some lanes and the traffic was flowing again. Saved me a bunch of time.

RE: Changed Fuel Filter and Now Won't Start

http://www.irv2.com/forums/f124/changed-fuel-filter-now-not-starting-154799.html Here is FIRE UP's ultimate solution to getting his C-7 up and running again. Thank goodness I have never experienced this, but always prefill my filter.

RE: Towing a 2012 Honda CRV

Just had the baseplate and wiring done yesterday on my 2013 crv, I towed my 2004 crv about 50,000 miles without a hic up. You got one of the best. No worries mate.

RE: Tired of pulling that fuse?

Ok, just returned from radio shack. with the spade connectors and switch, I agree a lousy selection of switches, but chose one identical to the one that comes in the more expensive kits, the rocker with the little white dot . Connectors $2.49--Switch $3.19 total of $12.67., including above ADD A CIRCUIT I do have some wire. Now for the fun part.

RE: Tired of pulling that fuse?

RedG I agree Just returned from O'Reilly auto parts. The part there is called ADD-A Circuit, same thing and comes with various fuses. $6.99 I'm off soon to radio shack for a switch and spade connectors to fit the mini fuses. Great idea. Ron

RE: Tired of pulling that fuse?

I don't have either on my new 2013 crv yet, I am having the baseplate installed tomorrow. However regarding the charge line. I would have to run an additional line from my coaches battery to my 6 pin connector. My 6 pin connector on my journey does not have a hot 12V on it. Install fuses at both ends etc. If this solution works, it seems so simple. However, I would still like to know if I have to recode my radio every time I use this switch, could be the deal breaker.

RE: Tired of pulling that fuse?

Do you have to put in the radio codes each time you use the switch, to make the radio operational again?

RE: Is this the end of a California beach camping tradition?

They will go simply because of misuse the same as the dump stations did at the rest areas, The few non caring cramming objects down the holes that plugged them up and some not even using a hose. Yes, I have seen the bathroom scenes at some of our beaches, unbelievable. The wood they burn in the fire pits is any scrap they can find. Its painted, oiled, creosoted you name it. You can smell it and it is not what you picture of a campfire in campground in the mountains. Personally, I would like to see some structure built in to it. Regulated.smaller rings situated where the proximity to houses could be mitigated. Proper firewood sold at the beach or bring your own but has to be real firewood. Maybe setting up a fee, reservation system or just something. Right now it is out of control and and because of this it will be clamped shut.

RE: Is this the end of a California beach camping tradition?

Classic case of folks buying ten thousand square feet of dirt and declaring sovereignty over uses of every piece of land in the neighborhood. When I wanted a buffer between my neighbors and myself I bought enough acreage to provide it, and wouldn't dream of dictating what adjacent landowners can do with their property. And that extends to the "John Q. Public" that owns along one side! I agree completely...EXCEPT...when THEIR SMOKE...drifts across MY PROPERTY....and causes me to GAG and CHOKE...THEN I put a stop to it! X2 I live in the Los angeles area, and my local rag's article on this says its limited to Los Angles County, and Orange county. Also Charcoal and gaseous fuels may still be used for cooking.

RE: Do Toad's Really Get Beat Up Back There? Looking at new CR-V

I picked up the new CR-V last week. At a minimum I am going to use a front end bra. Will most likely get it broke in a few months before setting up to tow. Thanks again for all the replies. You just can't beat real world experience. Michael Well, good luck, a front end gra is what ruined the paint on one of my previous toads.
