RE: Quick Overnight stays

Walmart parking lots are in many places a spot for gangs to hand out late at night (that's certainly the case here in Topeka). We've always had great luck in using campgrounds for camping. When campgrounds aren't available (very rare) we stay at rest areas along interstate highways. Apparently thousands spend their night in parking lots but it's kind of hard to see where the fun is in that but to each their own. Good luck and enjoy your trip / Skip
I have lived in the Topeka Kansas area for over 50 yrs. I have never heard before today that gangs hang out a WalMart lots. I have visited all 3 Walmarts at day time and during the night and never noticed gangs.
I also worked part time for the Shawnee County Sherrif Office as a deputy on patrol mostly at night. In 12 years I never had a call of Gangs in the parking lot or heard of any other law enforcement agency dispatched to a gang related call. I hope our Town doesn't get a bad
reputation.

RE: kansas turnpike - overnight

You can not stay overnight on the Kansas Turnpike.
If you take longer than 18 hours to go wherever you are going on the Pike you will be charged for a full length toll.

RE: Leveling 2 Axle Fifth Wheel?

I use these Levelers.
They are great. I purchased 2 boxes which is 4 levelers. They do not crack split or rust. If they get dirty you can wash them right off. Since they are angled you just either pull forward or back up until level then chock your tires.

RE: OUCH! Ford/GM/Dodge sales

Gosh maybe we tax payers did not buy the right companys.
Maybe we can sue our investment advisor.
I don't think we had much choice. Anymore they don't care what they people want they just ram it thru and spend more of our money that we don't have.

RE: Satellite mounting tip

I also vote for a bullseye. I have had one for approximately 5 years. The thing I like is if you use the stake or brackets to mount it you can remove to screw knobs to remove the dish and put it away. When you get back a few hours later you just put the dish back on the stake or bracket hooked up to most anywhere and your back to watching TV in a couple of minutes

Can anyone tell me where I can find a recliner made in
the USA. I do not want one that is made in China. I would pay more for one made in the good old USA.

Questions ref digital TV

I have a 2004 Magnavox TV in my 5er.
I am currently in Rapid City S. Dakota. I also have DirecTv.
I can not get a signal for DirecTv due to my location with all the trees. After 2 days, I turned on the 04 Magnavox analog Tv without a converter box in the circuit. I was supprised that I was able to get channels 24, 27, & 33 with the batwing antena. I did not think I would be able to get anything due to the digital conversion that had taken place. Maybee I am missing something.

RE: Retrax tonneau covers

I have got a Retrax cover for my Long Bed 2004 Silverado. I have had it for over 4 years. It really works great. I have a lockable tailgate that works great when not towing with the retrax cover lockable also. I can lock the cover any place that I want to.

RE: Article on Families Living in Tents

This is so sad what is going on here.
Our leaders so called are trying to cut out some charitable giving to pay for their huge spending spree. This is not the way to go. IMHO They should be ashamed of themselves.

RE: Blowing fuse(s) on Laredo lift motor

I think you have a couple of problems here.
#1 Don't put a larger fuse in the circuit as it is rated for or you could have a bigger problem.
#2 You should level your trailer first then put down the rear stablizers where they are just snug. That way you would'nt be putting extra strain on the landing gear. I hope this helps. Good luck.

Axle problems?

I have a 32.5 ft 5th wheel. It has 2 dexter axles. I noticed that the 2 passenger side tires are wearing out faster on the outside edge. Both tires on that side are a problem but the rear tire is the worst.
I plan on replacing these soon.
I was wondering if any one has used Croft Trailer Supply for axle work? They are a Dexter dealer. There is approximately 3 in the greater Kansas City area. I would like to hear if any one out there had a experience with them or some other axle place

RE: CCI gas detector

My gas detector would go off last fall when everything would be shut up for a period of time. It was 4 years old.
I called the Mfg. and they told me if it is over 4 years old to replace it. It cost around 80 bucks plus shipping. It hasn't gone off since.

Blood Cancer

I was wondering who else was living with a Blood Cancer.
I was diagnosed with AML Acute Myelogenous Leukemia in July of 06. I had 3 rounds of Chemo and by November of that year was in remission. I checked in with the Dr's every month for Blood work and exam. Almost all of 06 we were unable to go camping.
In 07 I was going every month to the Dr's for Blood work and exam. In 07 on June 20th my Dr. told me to take the next 90 days off and he wanted to se me on Sept 18 07. My DW and I took off for Alaska on the 22nd of June and returned on the 29th of August. It was really a great trip and very exciting. It was very beautiful in every way possible. I stayed in remission for 23 month until Oct of 08.
I have had 3 more rounds of Chemo and finished my treatments the day after Christmas in 08.
Currently I am in a study group that is testing a new oral chemo drug called Vidaza. I have to take these pills every day for 7 days the first week of the month. Then I get blood work done once a week for the remainder of the month. I am currently in the 6th month of a 7 month study. My Dr. said on last Friday that I was tolerating the medication well.
We have not been able to go a long distance from home but we try to go camping for 3 to 4 days at a time not far from home. I really just try to enjoy life each day and try to keep busy.

RE: I-70 attractions

Sunset zoo in Salina Kansas,
Garden of Edan in Lucas Kansas,
Swope Park Zoo in Kansas City,
Riverboat Arabia exhibit in the River Qui in Kansas City,
Combat Air Museum in Topeka,
Hartland Park Raceway in topeka,
Kansas Museum of History topeka,
Skyline Millcreek Drive from Paxico to BunaVista Kansas,
Native Stone scenic Biway west of Topeka,
Rock city North or Salina Kansas,
Greenville Kansas and the worlds largest hand dug well (and also take a look at the new greener Greenville),
to name a few possibilities. IF you can only make one I'd suggest the Riverboat Arabia Museum in Kansas City. It's like they dug up a Walmart store from the 1800s out of a corn field. Good luck / Skip The correct name is Greensburg not Greenville
