RE: 120v issues in 2003 springdale 30ft

:) Hi, this could be something as simple as a bad shore power cord. Check the power where you plug the shore power cord into and check at the end of the cord where it connects to your trailer.

RE: camp ground ratings

:) Hi, we used to stay at KOAs, but they seem to have all been rundown, neglected, and never updated. (no money put back into the business) We, now, happily will stay at any Good Sam campground and don't pay much attention to the ratings.

RE: Outside door dilema

:) Hi, my trailer's door opens all the way and blocks the furnace, but I see no sense in having the furnace running and the door open (all the way) at the same time.

RE: AIRSTREAM TT

:) Hi, I guess it's what you want and what you can afford when it comes to trailers. In September of 2004 we bought a brand new 2005 Airstream Safari 25-B. My wife and I worked hard all of our lives and bought this trailer for cash about two years before we retired. It's just the two of us and one little dog, so if works great for us. If we were young, still working, and had a half a dozen kids, I guess all we could afford, that would work for the family, would be a white box trailer. Everyone's situation is slightly different, so to each his own. Since we don't have any payments, it makes it easier to afford to buy the gas needed for our trips. We have been in 13 Western States and 3 Western Provinces. Our biggest trip so far was our Alaska trip. (50 days and over 10,000 miles) We plan to use it up, so resale has not been a concern. Right now we could possibly sell it for about what we paid for it eight years ago. Maybe one of my relatives will end up having it given to them.

RE: Carpet

:) Hi, well if it's been raining and you're parked on dirt, it's pretty hard to remove shoes outside. But just inside of the entrance door is where they come off. We also use throw rugs; wash them a few times and throw them away.

RE: Sanitizing Fresh Water tank...although we never drink it

I never sanitize, and I'm not worried at all about getting sick. But I do drink bottled water simply due to taste (it's so hard to get rid of the 'pink stuff' flavor).
You never sanitize, but yet you can never get rid of the "pink stuff" flavor.:h
Am I the only one that see's a connection here?
:) Hi, I don't know about the above Quote, but I don't winterize and never use the pink stuff.

:) Hi, I sanitize my tank a few times a year. We bring bottled water for cooking and coffee. My wife drinks bottled water; I don't drink water!

RE: Best WDH with Sway Control for Small Trailer

People, like me, who have actually used the Andersen No Sway Hitch, love them. Lightweight, clean, easy to hitch/unhitch, excellent sway resistance. Criticizing them has become a form of entertainment for three or four forum members, who have never tried one.
:) Hi, I like the idea behind the Andersen hitch, but they still have some concerns to deal with. Right now, (tell me if I'm wrong) but Andersen is the only hitch that has a problem with certain couplers, such as the Atwood coupler that my trailer was built with.

RE: Lantern

:) Hi, I don't have a picture or even a model number, but I bought a Kelty LED lantern. It is very bright and dimmable too. The light is defused, so as, to not blind you. They are somewhat pricey though at about $60.00 each.
I just checked and it's called a Kelty LumaCamp Lantern and Amazon has them.

RE: Expedition air ride sytem and WDH's

:) Hi, I tow with a Lincoln Navigator with rear air suspension. You can also adjust the rear ride height, I did on mine, but it is real touchy doing it. Your owners manual, if you have one, will tell you how to set-up your WD hitch with this system. Don't open your rear doors during this process, it lowers the vehicle a little bit.

RE: Cat scales, how many washers on Equalizer

:) Hi, I don't know and can't tell what's right for you, But mine was recently adjusted with 6 1/2 washers. Seven washers would have been too much for my set-up and six wasn't enough. I found a washer that was about half as thick as the others. So I say that I have six and one half washers. (works for me)

RE: legnth of finance terms?

:) Hi, yes we paid cash for ours too, but I think if you are at, or near, retirement you shouldn't finance anything. (my opinion) As for the write off, the point being is that you will only get back a small percentage of the interest paid, so you will still lose. (hence the statement of give me $1000.00 and I will return $300.00 to you) This write-off cost you $700.00 per year. (fictious numbers used) I understand that younger working people with children may need to finance or people who just can't afford any other way; And that's OK too.

RE: Photo Sticky is Locked

:) Hi, I would like to see quotes that don't include the pictures. Every time someone quotes and says "Nice rig" all fourteen over sized pictures are shown again. Once per original post is enough. And I know you didn't want to hear it, but some other forums reject over sized pictures automatically when trying to post/attach them.

RE: steep grades

:) Hi, using the same gear that you used going up a hill to go down the hill is a basically good idea, but if the grade was 6% going up and on the other side of the hill, going down, is only 4% you may end up one gear higher. You need to judge how the vehicle feels both ways and select your gears accordingly.

RE: No HEADLIGHTS ARGG!

:) Hi, start with simple things first; Did you check the bulbs? Do your running lights work or do you have nothing? (outside lights) Use a test light to see if there is any power to the headlight sockets. What was the last thing that you or someone else did to your motorhome before you noticed that your lights don't work? Maybe some wires got cut or pinched.
