RE: Seems like they all do this

I made the mistake in buying up just to have a built in GPS. What a junk unit so I use my Garmin. The update was a think a thousand bucks but dropped to 300 bucks (more than a new stand alone unit). I keep a baseball hat handy and cover up the GPS when I leave the car. Unless a person looks very hard it just looks like a hat on the dash.

Need make of TT

Last spring we saw a Travel Trailer with a pointed nose. It looked kind of like a horse trailer from the front but the inside was well arranged. Does anyone know the make? I thought I saved it but guess not.
Thanks

RE: Small utility trailer with 12" tire concerns

I pulled my 14 ft boat on a trailer with 12" tires for years with no trouble.

Kindle question

My wife Kindle was dropped and we need a new one. She thinks a Kindle Paperwhite will do just fine. All she does is read books with it. The clerk (not to sure how much knowledge he has) told us the Kindle and Kindle Paperwhite is being dropped because all the customers are going to the Fire. We think as just a book reader the screen on the OLD FASHION MODEL is better. Any comments as we don't want to say in a few months we should of got a Fire.

RE: Membership Renewal

Just renewed my membership, not really sure why; probably just Newtons first law. Anyway, I received the renewal packet in the mail in about a week....so cudos to Good Sam. The new membership card ....REALLY. Absolutely a joke, flimsy beyond description, not much more than heavy paper with a plastic coating.
I understand what your point. I thought the same thing at first, but I hate having a thick wallet. I hate it so much that a lot of my cards I don't even bother to carry. However the Good Sam I carry all the time because it is so slim. Agree on the constant reminders too.

Reality? You can tell the majority of them are staged.

RE: We finally made a purchase!!

Sign up for the user forum. I used to have a Fox fiver and got a lot of info from the forum. The factory has (or did when I have my fiver) great service for information. Good product and people.

RE: Sunnybrook Slide Motor

My friend Sunnybrook which is about 10 years old but only is used maybe 6-8 times a year had some slide problems on a caravan two years ago and this is what happened. Got ready to pull out one morning but the slide would not come in and found out the gear box was toast. With this I would if it was mine, look into it and make sure that it is not a warning of things to come. Had a problem getting a replacement gear box. It ended up having to stay a extra week until it was fixed. Being camped 50 miles away from a town (small) didn't help.
Not a answer but think it is a indication of problems.

Good Sam parks rating

I was told by another Good Sam member that GS was no longer rating the GS parks. Is this true or not. He said they were only relaying on feed back from the members. If this is true how do we post our rating?
I have no great feeling one way or the other but would like to know.

RE: Warranty's?????

Well, if you shop various Dodge dealers, you might a price under $2400. Did you get "Maximum Care" or one of the other plans? I suspect there is a dollar limit overall, probably no more than what you paid for your truck.
Do you have a link for us?
On my Prius that was 2 grand from the dealer I shopped on the internet and found a dealer for the same factory coverage for 1,000 dollars. A lot of mark up?????

RE: E-Books

Remember that the selling price is made up of lots of factors, cost being the least important one.

RE: Spit shine boots: what am I doing wrong...?

As a former Old Guard guy (3rd US Infantry, the guys who guard the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier amongst other things), leather dye, COLD water (not hot water and not spit), and Lincoln Shoe Polish.

I also think the new ones are ugly. Maybe you should try and sell them as I think you will find a market.

RE: Discount on a 3yr old "NEW" motorhome

Yes, I have wondered why this has not sold. We really went through it and even drove it about 25 miles. Everything worked perfectly and it drove like a dream. The main reason we are looking at this one is just for that reason. It's been setting on their lot for so long and I figured I could really get a good deal out of them.
Exactly how do you find out the dealer's invoice price? I know for a fact that with autos, the dealer makes up his own invoice and can put anything he wants on there.
Ron
Years ago (like 50) I worked in a print shop and remember printing up blank factory invoices for the local Chevy dealer. So much for paying XXX dollars over cost.

RE: Slide out leak?

I have never used or even saw it used but if you pressure inside the rig and then use soap/water on all the places that might leak it will show up like a tire tube in water. Some RV shops offer this service or you can hook up a leaf blower to the top vents and do it your self. Bet a goggle might find out more info.

RE: Going to the hospital carries risk.

When I got Staph in a hospital 25 years ago, they didn't bother to apologize.
My Dr. needed his knee operated on, but said he'd wait until he absolutely couldn't stand the pain. No confidence in the hospital.
I am having my third go around with staph from August visit to the hospital. Hope this is the last of it.
