RE: Go Thing he Didn't Put A Camper On It.

Geeze, it took 5000 pounds to break my frame, apparently just a camper shell was enough for that truck.

RE: Frozen Axle Bearing

Wait, if the inner slides on and it is a constant diameter spindle and the outer won't, something is wrong. Undersized outer?? It is not a constant diameter spindle per the picture. The outer diameter is smaller so the inner bearing would pass by it. Many spindles are like that. I have yet to see a picture so assumed constant diameter as I haven't encountered stepped spindles on utility trailers. I know they must be out there just haven't seen one. I am assuming the step is not just a matter of a few thousands. Edit... Saw the pic, hard to see how much damage but I bet it can be repaired with a fine mill file, dykem, stone and polishing cloth.. As long as the seal surface and threads are un damaged all will be well with some time spent on it.

RE: air bags pump

My valves are in the wheel wells, could be in a better place but have not been a problem. I just fill them at home, have to add near double the psi on the heavy side of camper to get close to level.Hardly ever need to add/remove psi till I take the TC off. I have a pump and gauge set up for the truck cab but never seen the need to install. If I do add air I have both a bike pump and 12V pump to work with but the stay packed away most of the time.

RE: Californianos Hang Onto Yer Britches...!

Pardon me if I have to smile at this so-called 'storm'. In CA they worry about a few inches of rain? Think I'd worry more about earthquakes. I guess you haven't been in CA when a big Express hits. Like ten or fifteen feet of snow and whole families wiped out by mud and trees.

RE: Californianos Hang Onto Yer Britches...!

Well it was a big one but not the Pineapple Express of yesteryear which is good. I sure hope we have another two or three just like it. I have a friend who says it is not a real PE unless houses slide down hills and lives are lost. Sick puppy. Folsom Lake is getting a lot of water, 40 percent full 12/12/14 ..

Need WiFi Board?

So I was given a big honking Apple computer (6 years old ??) and it was fed net stuff by a cable. Do I just take it to a shop and ask them to install a WiFi board?

RE: Have the Police stopped enforcing our traffic laws?

I have got to disagree with some remarks. For the past six months I have been hauling loads across the central valley of CA and don't run across much mayhem. Could be a lot of those trips are during non commute hours has something to do with. Last night about 20 police passed me at at least 80 mph, they were on the way to Berkley where some idiots had blocked I80. Scary to be overtaken by so many fas movers all lit up.

RE: Will RidEx decompose flushables?

Yes if let sit long enough in warm weather.

RE: So what did you do to your Truck Camper today?

Which big rock is that? http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b217/Eric1218/2014%20Photos/2014_1129_09160900_zpsnry0hazs.jpg height=480 Have read it is the largest exposed granite monolith in the world.

RE: Beware of no name motor oil

My opinion. :p I would never use motor oil in my chin saw for chain lube. Gotta have the high tack stuff. I put chain-bar oil in my saws but always have a bucket of used oil from the truck close to hand. Every few minutes stick the bar in it and run the chain all the way around (saw not running of course). Old habit from working for tree surgeon company decades ago. Thaks for posting that, I have a friend that thinks I am nuts when I do that.

RE: Missing person. Please watch for her RV!

Been following this on another site with interest since I transport rescue Heelers. Very few details so far. Such a sad story.

RE: Horn replacement

Nothing like a loud horn to get the attention of someone drifting into your lane. Cell phone users around here do that a lot.

RE: Show your homemade Anderson Leveler

I stand corrected, I guess the question I have is what kind.

RE: Show your homemade Anderson Leveler

Good plastic is not cheap and those blocks are not recycled. Then of course the cost of the molds is a big expense. My guess they are made from a form of polypropylene.

RE: Cords, cords and more cords

The best thing I have found is a garden hose reel, the kind on wheels.

RE: Truck First Aid

A shotgun, I may get really mad at my truck when it needs First Aid but so far not mad enough to shoot it. Lol Besides, I think I could kill it with just a book o matches, much less space needed to carry.

RE: Truck First Aid

Adding a LED head lamp to the list. Before I got smart and got a FASS I had to change two lift pumps in dark parking lots. The lamp made it soo much easier to do.

RE: Rancho reminder. Performance report.

My only problem with my Ranchos is adjusting the front ones. I have to jack up the front end in order to extend the springs enough to get enough space to turn the knob.
