RE: hwh fuse

I just went through the same issue. Be sure and check all ground points. I've read many posts that the ground was the problem. Also, after waiting two weeks to talk to Frank at HWH he told me that most problems with these units are due to bad grounds and advised me to be sure the bolts that mount the unit to the frame are tight and all ground connections are tight. He then advised me to take a heavy #2 cable and run it from the ground point on the unit as far back as possible and attach it to the frame. I thought I had already checked my ground and kind of doubted it was the problem until I went to install the cable as he suggested. I went to WalMart and bought a set of jumper cables, cut the clamps off, and wired them together with copper ring terminals on each end. When I went to attach the cable to the ground mounting post on the unit, the nut spun loose as soon as I put a socket on it. It was not tight and I was not getting good ground contact even though some of the lights in the control box were coming on. Once I installed the cable and made a good ground connection, everything is working perfectly. I hope yours is as easy of a fix.

RE: Max Air on Dash Air Condition

They may have knocked the vacuum hose that opens/closes the door off when working on it. A close inspection should reveal the door and how it operates.

RE: zoned air conditioning...

If both fans run just on zone 1 or just zone 2, some previous owner did some pretty innovative wiring to your coach. Zone 1 runs the front unit and Zone 2 runs the rear. Neither has anything to do with the other.

RE: Need air pressure gauge and chuck

The end with the lever has a standard threaded hole, so you can add a hose, quick connect or whatever you want to it.

RE: Need air pressure gauge and chuck

THIS is what I use. It has a straight head instead of the usual angled head and works on my motorhome.

RE: Onan 7500 HDKA getting code 36

***UPDATE*** I when on a 2 hours trip and I loosed my fuel caps to allow venting. I figured that if my problem is the fuel tank vent then the generator would run fine. It did run longer than normal but then it quit and threw out code 14. Then when the weekend was over we got on the road again and did the same thing but this time it threw out code 13 when it quit. So now I have seen codes, 35, 36, 14 & 13. All these codes refer back to the control board. So I am thinking control board. Any thoughts. My thoughts are that you're probably smarter than most of the responders and will get this resolved on your own.......

RE: clorox bleach in diesel

You did the right thing to get it out of the tank ASAP. Those who would have just run it through and let the filter/water separator pull it out are not too smart IMHO. Glad you didn't follow their advice.

RE: 2002 Seabreeze Headlight

If you can find a number on the lens you can Google it and see what comes up. I called Newmar for mine and it was over $400 for a R. headlight. I kept looking and found it is also used on a '99 to '02 Grand Marquis and they are available at junk yards for $30. Yep, looked up the number on the headlight of my 2005 Dutch Star and it's from a 90 - 91 Lincoln. Who'd a thunk it?

RE: I thought I had seen it all

Almost a daily occurrence. I live just a few blocks from I-35W and they're dragging them down to Mexico daily. A few days ago, I saw an old Lincoln with the rubber bumper ripped off and a makeshift towbar tied on with a cable towing two more cars.

RE: Oil Change Viscosity Mistake

I personally would leave it and change in the fall when the temps drop. 30W affords the same protection as 10W30, it's just a little thicker in cold weather.

RE: WALMART STRANGENESS

Maybe a dozen long blasts from the air horn would make him go stare into someone else's window.

RE: Jacks will not go down

Check to see if you have power to the master relay - the big red cable coming from the battery to the relay. If not, it's probably related to your battery hookup as you suspect. The control board gets 12v from the ignition switch as well which will light up your control board lights, but not let your pump work or the solenoids. If the cable to your master relay is hot, check all grounds, especially the mounting bolts on the bottom of the jack system that mount it to the frame. Also, check that the nut on the ground post where all the white wires connect is tight. Here's a troubleshooting guide if your jacks are 625 series: http://www.hwh.com/ml35963.pdf

RE: Disappointed in Cummins Engine

It's two posts because it's the same OP!! I think he got shafted too...BUT posting the same stuff every two weeks serves what purpose??? Sorry but this is just beating a dead horse. :( Thanks for pointing that out.

RE: Newmar question

The farther up the line you go, the finer the details and quality of the furnishings. You still get the same frame, chassis, engine, roof, walls, insulation, etc. in the Dutch Star as in the higher end models. Take a look at the floors, ceilings and furnishings in the higher end models compared to the lower end. The Mountain Aires and up will have the fancy mirrored/lighted ceilings and fancier flooring while the lower models won't. One thing that may add to the price of the higher end models is that they come with an Aqua Hot system that is pretty expensive, while I believe it is an option of Dutch Stars. My Dutch Star doesn't have as much of the Bling (for lack of a better word), but it is still plenty luxurious enough for us and the quality is second to none IMO. I'd really like to have a MADP, but can't see paying 50% more for basically the same thing I already have except for a few more eye pleasing amenities.

RE: Disappointed in Cummins Engine

Instead of pointing fingers at the Cummins or the OP, I think the right target might be the mechanic(s). All it initially needed was an exhaust leak fixed. They probably broke the studs off removing the manifold and the easiest way to remedy that is to just sell the poor sucker a new head. I can't believe that the fuel pump and turbo could've been TU without the owner knowing there was another problem. I think he got shafted big time.

RE: Bolt snapped off but from where?? FOUND IT~ TKS#40FAN!

Low carbon Grade 8 or 9 bolt, it was used to fasten something that endures heavy torque. The collar should mate to one part of what is fastened. This is starting to drive me crazy, I hope the bolt didn't come off a road grader. Thanks for identifying it. When I heard the snap I first thought I ran over something real hard. Didn't give it much thought except maybe for a future pending flat tire. I moved up and then approached my backing again and got out to see how close I was to a ditch where I was backing down. That's when I saw the bolt laying there in the street right where I had stopped, turned the wheel and put it in reverse. You want to think that it was from another vehicle but what are the laws of average that you hear the snap and there lies a broken bolt? That road is right down from the public works building where there are a lot of heavy equipment going back and forth. Maybe I'll take the bolt down there and ask if they are missing one!! :B:B I guess it's possible that you could have ran over the bolt with the edge of the tire kicking it up to the underside making the snap noise and it didn't come from the coach at all.

RE: Dump station at Cabala's in Dundee, MI

Funny about the non-potable water at Cabela's. The only place they can get the water is from the city water supply. I think it's just to keep people from filling up their fresh water tank. I put some of their non-potable water in my fresh water tank at the Ft. Worth Cabela's and didn't die.

RE: Need silverware holder for narrow kitchen drawer

HERE'S a narrow silverware drawer insert that comes in Newmar motorhomes. You'd have to call them for a price. Well, the link didn't work right. You'll have to put 22534 In the search box and look at the bottom of the page. Says vendor part #MM3521AWSTY
