RE: Campgrounds with music?

Georgia Mountain Fair Campground, Hiawassee, Georgia. Anderson Music Hall is inside of the campground in walking distance from campsites. It has great concerts year round.

International Terra Star Chassis with MaXX Force 7 Engine

I am interested in information on the subject chassis and 300 HP engine offered on the new Nexus Super C motorhome. I understand a similar chassis was used on the Gulfstream Super C which is no longer available. I have heard some negative comments on it without any specifics. I would like to know opinions on cab layout & comfort, power, handling, fuel mileage, maintenance costs, etc. Maybe some owners of the Gulfstream could offer their opinions.

RE: Super C Chassis & Engine Discussion

Shawdowboss: Good points on the F550 vs the M2. The M2 is definitely preferable if one can afford the higher price.

RE: Super C Chassis & Engine Discussion

Keep in mind 5000 pounds more GVRW does NOT equal 5,000 pounds more carrying capacity. It's probably closer to half that because the F-series, especially the diesel, weighs so much more. I'll take a ton and a quarter more capacity.

RE: Super C Chassis & Engine Discussion

The Dynamax was same size as my Aspect 29H. Except for it being on a F550 and my Aspect on an E450. Looked the same side by side.:D Except the Dynamax has 5000 to 6000 lbs more carrying capacity and 10,000 lbs towing capacity and is 6 inches wider.

RE: Super C Chassis & Engine Discussion

F550 are still small truck chassis. All of the manufacturers listed call the F550 coaches "Super C's". 19,500 GVWR sounds like a Super C to me.

RE: Super C Chassis & Engine Discussion

I would not put those choices in the Super C class. Why?

Super C Chassis & Engine Discussion

I am interested in moving up to a Super C and would like info/opinions on pros and cons on the available chassis/engine combinations available. I have researched: Ford F550 (Thor, Isata, Born Free, and Host) Freightliner M-2 (Dynaquest and Seneca) International Terra Star (Nexus) I really like the size and floor plan of the Nexus Ghost 34G, but I have read negative comments on the International/MaXX Force chassis. Any input would be appreciated.

RE: Northern Ga. Camping Suggestions

High Falls State Park is about 20 miles north of Macon. Very easy access on and off I75.

RE: Nexus Super C - the "Ghost"

I would be interested in hearing from anyone who has driven one of these. Power, handling, etc.

RE: Coach House question

We have a 2011 Coach House 271XL with twin beds. We have about 12,000 miles on it in 2 years. We absolutely love ours. It drives great and have had few problems. I love the mid bath floor plan and of course the single piece body. Great attention to detail. We have come up with some innovative storage methods and get along fine with the limited outside storage. Plus IMHO it is the best looking Class C on the road.

RE: Unbreakable Wine Glasses

Sorry, no plastic stemware (or box wine) for me. I use glass and when traveling, slip socks over the stemware. in fact, my wine glasses hang under a cabinet and they stay there when traveling. A sock over every other one and no breakage yet. I'm not worried about them in the cabinet, I have dropped them and find glass shards month's later. By the way, I have never drank box wine.

RE: Unbreakable Wine Glasses

We use stainless steel and we've had ours for over 10 years. No scratches or breakage. Now that's an idea! How do you compare SS to glass? Is there any metallic taste imparted? Any condensation issues on the outside?

RE: Rock Guards

Well, I have now been on several trips and I have continued my survey of toad protectors in use on the highways. My unofficial survey is about 1 in 50 motorhomes with a toad are using some type of toad protector. I guess the vast majority don't see any benefit from using them.

A dish towel protects our "glass" glasses. Even when you drop them???
