RE: Camping World RV Sales

My wife and I were going thru new RVs at the Kissimmee store and found one we wanted more information on. We went into the store and grabbed a salesman, went back out to the RV we were looking at, and asked the salesman about a large stain that was on the floor in the living area (non carpet floor). Salesman said he wouldn't buy this thing if he were us. Asked if we ever had any repair done at this shop. We stated that we had not. He stated don't. Stated that service is terrible. Needless to say, we were "shocked".

RE: Seeking firsthand experience & knowledge?

Citrus Valley is a very nice RV park. The sites are large and have large "paver" pads. The park is actually very new. Elite Resorts bought an existing campground and completely rebuilt it. Everything is only a few years old. You would not be disappointed staying there.

RE: Thoughts on a second vehicle while fulltiming

Take the Mini with you. You will love the flexibility of running around with it instead of the truck. My wife and I have been taking a second vehicle with us for the last 8 years. When it's lunch time on the road, we park the rig where its convenient, she picks me up, and off we go to wherever we want. I think we talk on the CBs more than when we are both in the same vehicle. Another plus is you have a set of eyes following you and keeping an eye on the trailer/truck for any problems, i.e. tires, etc.

RE: Jeep stolen on Michoacan coast

It can happen anywhere. A good friend of ours had their 2002 F250 four wheel drive stolen last week in McAllen while there were out for lunch. No clues as of yet.

RE: Now that I saw a New Horizons, will anything else do?

Evergreen RV hired the Carriage exc.s and they now build the Lifestyle RVs and others. Great company.

RE: It's "Leaving Day" At Long Last!

We'll be leaving again on 12/26. We took the "rig" down in Oct., spent a couple of weeks warming up and then came back to Wisconsin for some medical appointments. We're usually settled for the winter in Florida by Nov., but had to come back. Wouldn't you know it that we would have one of the coldest Nov/Decembers here in Wisconsin in ages. We've been retired since 2001 and haven't spent a winter up north since then. Anyway, things are looking up and we'll be back in Florida by 12/28. Don't start the party without us. Well, maybe that is asking too much. Go ahead and party and we'll join it as soon as we can.

RE: electricity in Yuma

In Jan. of 2008, we were at a resort in Yuma and had an electric bill of $158 (one month). We paid .18/kilowatt. Never came close to that before or after at any other resort. We spend most of our winters in Florida and the resorts there can only charge the camper what the power company charges the resort. Apparently not so in Arizona. We do have an electric fireplace which we use a lot, especially in Arizona where the evenings are cold.

RE: Heading to FL from MLSP

Somertime - Take I-94/I-39 to Bloomington, Ill. Then I-74 to Champaign, Ill. Then I-57 south to I-24 to Nashville, Tn. Then I-65 to Montgomery, Al. Then US 231 to I-10 into the Florida panhandle. Then to wherever you're headed in Florida. We travel this route from Fond du lac to the Disney area many times and have found it to be the best route (at least I think it is). We took our 5th wheel down to Tropical Palms in Oct. and then came back for the holidays. We decided to come back via Atlanta because we hadn't taken I-75 for quite some time. Well, I assure you, that was the last time I'll make that mistake again. When we go back on Dec. 26th, it will be the Alabama route again.

RE: Do you have a reason to head South?

Like others have said, our reason for heading south is that it is to d-- cold up here in Wisconsin. We took our trailer down to Florida in Oct. Spent a couple of weeks and then came back for the holidays. Head back down on 12/26 until next spring.

RE: Estes Park RV camping recommendations

We have stayed at both Spruce Lake and Elk Meadows. Both are nice, but we preferred Spruce Lake. They are both very close to one of the entrances to Rocky Mountain National Park. We love Estes Park and have been there many times (just got back from there on June 19th). It is a busy little town with great things to enjoy. The National park is just beautiful and will keep you busy for many days.

RE: Summering in the North

Estes Park, Colorado. Beautiful, cool, and great hiking. Close to Loveland, Boulder, and Denver if you need more activity.

RE: Thought you might enjoy

What a great post. My wife and I are in Estes Park, Co., right now. We got here on Monday and will be here to next Monday. We just love this place. You wouldn't believe all the Elk that are in town right now. A lot of calves have been born in town and around the golf course. What a great site to see. We were up at the Alpine Center yesterday and you also wouldn't believe all the snow up there yet. We have been to Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National park quite a few times and have never seen this much snow still at the Alpine center. The Old Fall River Road won't be open until mid July. Anyway, anyone that has never been here, you have to put it on your list.

RE: Thinking Ahead - Colorado

Rocky Mountain National Park is a must see. Be sure and drive the "Old Fall River Road" up to the Alpine visitors center. The drive, however, is not for those who don't like steep grades and fantastic views. It is a "one way", dirt road to the top of the mountain range. The town of Estes Park, which is at the east entrance to the park, is a great place to also spend some time. As a matter of fact, my wife and I are leaving today to spend a couple of weeks out in Colorado, and one of those weeks will be in Estes Park. We love it there.

RE: Sheboygan, Wisconsin campgrounds

Sheboygan County Marsh is a very nice public campground near Elkart Lake, Wi. Plymouth Rock campground is a large, nice campground just north of Plymouth, Wi. Westward Ho is another nice park west of Plymouth. All are only about 10 miles from Kohler park.

RE: Jellystone RV Resort Nashville

Have stayed there many times. You won't be disappointed. I don't have any pictures for you, but there really isn't a bad site anywhere in the park.
