RE: Stone in brakes, the Squeal and the ears!!

Had the same thing happen on the gravel part of the Apache Trail in Arizona in the toad. A small pebble got in between the disc and backing plate. Luckily it cleaned itself out several minutes later. But what a screech. :E

RE: Brake Buddy

But can you move it from car to carFor the price of a BB, I could install the cable in 10 different cars, and still come out cheaper. - so the effective answer is yes.

RE: RV Fuel Issues & Prices - Post 'Em Here!

A bunch of stations have dropped gasoline prices to $3.68. I'd like to see gasoline prices drop as much as they went up - 10-20ยข at a time. Diesel prices are either $3.92 or $3.99 a gallon.

RE: Brake Buddy

To the Class A MH. Does anyone have the Brake Buddy Stealth System installed in their MH to Dingy. How is it, Pro's & Con's, etc. Thanks.
Yup, have one of the original metal box BB's (13+ years old). Easy to install/remove in IMHO. I installed a separate 12v outlet for power directly from the battery. This has it's own fuse. My BB has saved our butt several times in emergency stops. It is set to apply the toad brakes in a hard stop and works as advertized.

RE: Full Body Paint, Worth It ??

Our coach has paint on the sides and top. The end caps are gel coated. It is a pita to keep the end caps looking nice. As I get older I'm less inclined to stand on a ladder to apply wax. Too bad the grandkids are not quite old enough to pay them to apply wax.

RE: FAIL COLORADO EMISSION TEST

Colorado is 'ruling' itself out of business if they don't watch out.. All the hunters I'vve talked to are boycotting Co. because of their silly gun laws. The tourist trade is their life blood. They might want to wake up or go broke!
Yup, some business's are already re-locating. Shooting themselves in the foot, they are.....:R
See how much it will cost for repairs and get a waiver. Some times you can go to a different testing station and get passed.

RE: RV Fuel Issues & Prices - Post 'Em Here!

Three gas stations have dropped their prices to $3.69. It will take about a week for the rest to match the new lower price.

RE: Opinions on 2007 Holiday Rambler Navigator

Hi All,
This weekend I am thinking of pulling the trigger on a 2007 Holiday Rambler Navigator. It has low mileage, about 27,00 and has the Cummins ISX 525.
Any information would be appreciated, the good the bad and the ugly.

Here is an URL for the brochure for that year:
2007 HR Navigator
Navigators haven't been made for the past several years. The new owner, ASV, has hinted that they may start making the top of the line diesel models again.

RE: Need carrying capacity explaned

Hello everyone,
Could someone explain all of the various carrying capacities regarding a motorhome. I want to make sure I do not buy a motorhome with too limited a carrying capacity.
I am looking at a 2007 Holiday Rambler Navigator.
Thanks
If the Navigator has a tag axle don't worry about any overloading of the carrying capacity. If it just has a single rear axle then there may be cause for concern. I know that for several years the single rear axle HR high end diesel models had a limited carrying capacity. Too bad my senior mind can't remember the exact years.
I would ask the seller to get at least the front and rear axle weights. This would give you a "ball park" capacity figure to compare to the weight placard in the coach.
The Navigator is the HR top of the line diesel coach.

RE: West Glacier MT to Devils Tower WY

Morning all, We will be traveling I90 from West Glacier to Devils Tower. Any suggestion on good rv parks to stop at? Also any must see's along the way? Thanks for any suggestions. Safe travels.
If you're talking about West Glacier, MT, that's on Highway 2, not I-90. You would have to go west to Kalispell to Highway 93 and drop south to I-90.

RE: "They paved paradise and put up a parking lot"

This thread reminds me of something one of my favorite authors, John Geirach, once wrote:
You never get to point at a field full of browsing mule deer and say, "you know, this was once all condos."
Isn't that what is happening in Detroit? They are tearing down the abandoned houses and leaving it "natural."

Prices still continue drifting down. New lower price is $3.74. Still have a long ways to go to be really affordable.

RE: cars to tow

We have a 32' F53 V10. We started out towing '95 Jeep Cherokee and now tow a '98 Subaru Outback (AWD) with 5 spd. The tow rating is 5,000#. Tows like a dream with no problems.

RE: RV Fuel Issues & Prices - Post 'Em Here!

Gasoline prices just went down again. $3.79 to $3.86. Diesel is still floating around $3.99. Too bad I had to pay $3.94 to fill the motor home the other day.

RE: RV Fuel Issues & Prices - Post 'Em Here!

I got rid of all credit cards a few years ago and now pay cash. So I spend MUCH less, because I review my cash position and mourn foolish expenditures everytime I reach in my pocket. Thus, I find that unexpected savings will allow me to buy with cash a good condition Bayliner Ciera 28' this spring, docked in the Delta. What a nice surprise!
Geeze, now that's gallons per mile for a boat (don't ask me how I know :B). Plus gasoline is usually a buck or two more expensive at the fueling dock.

RE: RV Fuel Issues & Prices - Post 'Em Here!

Gasoline prices in town seem to be "stabilizing" toward a price of $3.86. Diesel prices vary from $3.92 to $3.99. Oil price is currently $95.87. Seems the oil price has varied from $93.xx to $97.xx over the past few months. Plus we have had refinery maintenance. Sure glad we don't live around Chicago with their $4.50+ prices.

RE: "They paved paradise and put up a parking lot"

Its amazing how zoning regulations can put a stop to that sort of thing. I live in a semi-rural township where we have a zoning commission. I served on it for 15 years. My neighborhood is zoned single family residential. Anybody wanting to build something else in my neighborhood must file for approval, and it never happens. There are other areas in the township where multi-family and apartments are allowed. Same for businesses.
The cases to be heard each month were described on the Township web site and we usually drew a good crowd. We very rarely overrode the zoning for some project.
We built on a forested 3.5 acre lot on a ridge. The township is zoned semi-rural on larger lots and they want to keep it that way. The only commercial buildings are on the major highway north. We also bought the lot next to us to keep a space. Our neighbor to the east bought the lot to their east. With the leaves we can't see our neighbors. We like living in the woods.
