RE: Road status Hwy 89 south of Jackson, WY to Alpine
This is what I am getting off the AAA Travel Information site:
Detour: US-26/89; Alpine to Hoback Jct. Mudslide has closed
road. Travellers Northbound can continue on US-26 N to
SR-31 to Victor, ID to SR-22 to Jackson, WY. Travellers
Southbound can take SR-22 from Jackson, WY to Victor, ID,
then S on SR-31 to US-26 S.
It may be their information is not up-to-date so this is why I am curious if anyone has recently driven this route to confirm whether it is open or detour is in effect.
Road status Hwy 89 south of Jackson, WY to Alpine
Trying to map my route for mid-July and see where there might have been a rock slide/damage to roadway on Hwy 89 between Jackson and Alpine. One source says I will be re-routed due to a detour using Hwy 22 west to Victor; then Hwy 31 to Swan Valley; then Hwy 26 south to Hwy 89.
Can anyone confirm if 89 south is open to traffic, or am I stuck having to go up the Hwy 22 grade?
