RE: Good Sam Diagnostyic Fee Coverage

Since the work was done at Camping World, I will insure that you do not have to pay for the second diagnostic fee out of pocket. If you can forward me the work order with the second diagnostic fee, I will make sure you are reimbursed for the fee.

RE: Good Sam Extended Warranty Problem

Another update for all of our Camping World Product Protection customers, this delay in registration was due to a problem created when our administrator moved to a new computer system. We had problems with the registration numbers not working in the new system for several days until the problem was corrected. Things are working correctly again. I apologize for any inconvenience that you may have had in the interim.

RE: Generator coverage in extended service

Your Good Sam ESP plan does cover seals and gaskets. The local Service Advisor simply did not call back to ESP for a second authorization after the belt was determined not to be covered. You should be getting a call from the Service Advisor who will arrange to have the repair covered through Good Sam ESP, less the cost of the belt. Please let me know if there is anything else we can do for you.

RE: Generator coverage in extended service

Your belt would not be covered by a service contract because it is a maintenance item, but seals generally are, depending on the age of the vehicle and the plan you purchased. I will review this claim to be sure that it was handled properly and let you know what I find out.

RE: Good Sam Extended Warranty Problem

Mr. Jodi, Your warranty has been registered and you should receive a call from Melenie shortly with instructions for processing your claim. Please let me know if there is anything else we can do.

RE: GS & Splendide

Our administrator confirmed what you already know- the parts are no longer available. Are you working with a repair facility to price a replacement?

RE: GS & Splendide

I am checking with our claims administrator to see where this is at. I'll let you know what I find out.

RE: extended service plan

I appreciate the thoughtfull comments from our members. Dick's suggestion that we keep a "report card" of service issues is an interesting one. We do keep these kinds of statistics internally to help us improve the level of service both for ESP and for Roadside Assistance. To keep things in perspective, Good Sam ESP processes around 3,000 claims and pays for somewhere around $2,000,000 in claims EACH MONTH. The vast majority of these claims are handled without a hitch, but we do have a few that don't go like they should, and this forum is one way to get them handled. Good Sam Roadside Assistance responds to 125,000 disablements each year. There is a customer service survey in place after each service is provided and currently the customer satisfaction level is at 96%. I will discuss posting these results on-line for our members to see with the rest of the team. In the mean time, the Good Sam staff is always available to assist with any problems or concerns.

RE: extended service plan

It would appear that the CW store did not account for the $100 deposit for the diagnosis when they calculated the refund due you. I will get a check in the mail to you tomorrow for the missing $100. Your liability is only the $50 deductible. I apologize for the confusion.

RE: GS Extended Warranty

Thanks for the support for Good Sam Extended Service Plan. You make a very good point- many problems can be avoided by calling us BEFORE you take your RV in for repairs so that we can let you know where the closest Good Sam Preferred Provider is. While you can take your RV any where for repairs, we have a relationship with 1,000 independent RV repair facilities that we know will provide a quality service and stand behind their work. They also offer discounts to Good Sam members for non-warranty related work as well.

RE: Full-timer unhappy with Extended warranty issues

Smittythebear, I'm sorry to hear that the repair process would take so long to complete. I hope that you can understand that to keep our rates down, we will repair parts if possible before replacing them. If you had extra travel expense associted with this breakdown, I will be happy to reimburse you for them, just send the recepts to my attention.

RE: Attn: Scott Blanc

I'm very sorry for your difficulties in getting this issue resolved. I will make sure that it is handled today and that you have the full authorization to replace the bracket and make the modifications needed to get this completed. Please e-mail me your personal information (name and address) so I can pull up your policy.

RE: awning extended warranty

The Camping World Product Protection Plan does cover wind, rain and hail damage as well as any other damage. Camping World is the only place where you can find that kind of coverage. The awning and RV cover protecton plans are the most popular sold by Camping World because of the high incidence of damage caused by wind and weather. There is no deductible charged on the replacement and you can have the replacement done at Camping World.

RE: hours

We have customer service agents available during normal business hours to handle change of address, billing questions and requests for changes to your policy. However, Good Sam has customer service agents available 24/7 at 800 239-3450 if you need something after hours. Good Sam Roadside assistance is also available 24/7 to take care of you in the event of a breakdown or emergency.

RE: Good Sam extended warrantee

If they have not already mailed out a check, I'm sure you can get reimbursed during your next store visit. i'll ask that they hold the check if it has not already gone in the mail.

RE: Good Sam extended warrantee

Here are a few facts to put this issue in perspective. Good Sam ESP handles 2,500 to 3,000 claims every month. One out of every three policy holders has a paid claim every year. With that number of claims being processed, we do have a few that are not handled properly, like this one, but the vast majority of the claims are settled fairly and promptly. The big difference between Good Sam ESP and other programs is the fact that there is someone like me with a team of people who are there to handle the ones that don't go right. In this case, we have reminded the repair facility of the rules- the customer is only responsible for the deductible for covered repairs, and if the shop and the administrator have a disagreement about the number of billable hours, that should never become the customer's problem. The shop in this case is reimbursing Jandke every penny over his deductible. We can't guarantee that everyone will always handle every situation correctly, and there is no excuse for poor customer service, but we do promise that Good Sam stands behind this product and when there is a problem, we will make it right.

RE: Discontinued Part

The dryer is being repaired with replacement parts from Spendide, my thanks to RV Volunteer CONUS. You will only be responsible for your deductible. I think it is fair to mention that the Good Sam ESP agreement on this RV has also paid for other repairs on this visit and has paid out $7,000 in previous claims. Total paid claims after this visit will be in excess of $8,000. And we will continue to pay all covered repairs for another ten months until the agreement expires in February of 2014. In light of that, I think blogging about "committing fraud" is a little unfair to Good Sam.
