I've not had any problems with my 2011 EgoBoost. But the rear tires seem to be wearing out fast, I think I push down on the right pedal too hard at times. I'm getting about 19mpg unloaded, about half that towing. I've read of the "condensation in the intercooler" problem but mine is a gem. I did buy the extended warranty due to first year engine worries. So far so good.
I'd buy another.
Good luck with your choice.
All LT tires/ All 10ply / All road tread design - The Evo2 could be an All terrain, but most call the design a road tire.
Bridgestone Dueller A/T Evo2 @ $258ea - $1115.84 installed @ Costco
Capitol H/T LTR @ $160ea - $709 installed at a local Shop
Cooper Discoverer H/T ( 60k mile/ 3100lb/PT ) $198ea - $915.22 at local shop
need some opinions. I generally just get P rated tires. the LT is a new world
Have you confirmed that your wheels can handle 60-80psi? I've got the same truck and I've got Ps and looking at LTs too.
Congrats on the new 4Runner.
I've gotta 02 with 218k miles and it's still going strong. I've had it on the sand, surf fishing, probably 100 times or more and it's the most dependable vehicle I've owned, by far.
I've pulled a 3000lb boat with it but had to upgrade to the F150 for my soon-to-be heavier load.
The only reason I didn't get the HD was the length, it wouldn't fit in the garage. But the max payload (Lariat) gives me 1969lbs payload and that's plenty for us.
But if you need the HD, and it fits in the garage, get the HD.
