RE: Rusty at backing up TT

There are YouTube videos of the Scoop method. I've found it helps set up the rear of the trailer for backing in.. Also to help learn how far past a driveway to go.

RE: Outside step/entry lights to light up steps .. help !

Solar powered light in ground. After a couple of times, the dogs know how far down the ground is.

RE: Need or want?

We like to mix it up. Sometimes we go to the CGs that have FHU with the arcades, water slides, pools, etc. Other times we go to the state parks with only electricity and we make our own entertainment. To camp, I guess the only thing we would NEED is electricity. I have to close my windows and turn on the air if we leave the dog in the camper alone at all and he'd get too hot without a/c. Actually, the absolute without a doubt need I have is a campground without dog breed restrictions. It doesn't matter if it's the greatest CG around if I can't bring my dog. We'll just find someplace else. Yup. Depending where I'm at depends on what I need. Sometimes hook ups, sometimes not. But always welcoming to my three dogs.

RE: Whats your favorite adult beverage??

Any beer that's been sitting in ice for a few hours. Anything else attracts too many skeeters!

RE: NE adult only campgrounds?

Moose River CG in St. Johnsbury, VT. I don't think they have a ban on kids but it is advertised as an adult campground. I have stayed there and it is a nice CG. The folks here are very nice! I've stayed free Memorial Day weekend by showing a DD-214. And Dog Mountain a bit down the road is a bit of heaven, especially for dogs. Pot lucks abound!

RE: Please tell me about Iowa

The people in Iowa are some of the kindest and generous I've ever met. Did grad school at UI and the Coralville Reservoir was my weekend spot. Going back this fall and really looking forward to spending time in Iowa. There's a lot more to it than corn if you have the time.

RE: Lessons we've learned over the years

RE: Colorado?

Silverton area for old mines and gold panning. My daughter loved the idea of finding her own gold. Even found a tiny bit!

RE: Looking For A Bedcap For A Queen Bed?

RV decor is where clothing from the ' 80s went to die. Sofa and bed have quilts from house and it's very cozy!

RE: Toaster Oven Recommendations?

Cuisinart toaster convection oven works great. I love mine and use it full time in the s&b. toast, bagels, casseroles, everything a large oven can do. Convection plus a pizza setting. No complaints except I wish I could swap it in for the microwave.

RE: Is 2 weeks enough time?

National parks are best experienced off the beaten track-or at least off the asphalt. You can do it, but IMHO, not have experienced the true beauty. Yellowstone is worth at least a week unless you want to see it looking out a window. Cover or uncover, your call.

RE: Can't find an eletric bed warmer that actually gets warm!

Sorry for lack of update we've also been doing doctor stuff this week. Bought the Sunbeam mattress pad with the "preheat" function. Turned it on a half-hour before bedtime. You could feel the warmth through the quilt on top of the best. Exactly what we were hoping for. The mattress pad heats from below, which we've never had. Should have asked much sooner. Thanks again, everyone . . . al Glad to,hear it's working. My heated pad is from an air mattress site. Never went back to the heated blanket. Sweet dreams!

RE: Colorado, Utah, Arizona and beyond

4runner , we must have made the same trip! I loved Silverton-Old west saloon, friendly folks and gold mining/panning. Good times in the outdoors. Utah is an incredibly beautiful state, for mtn biking Moab is hard to beat. Arches, Bryce, Zion. Panguitch is another old west town near Bryce. Good thing you have time because slow is the way to see this part of the country. Lots of RV parks. I am envious of your plans! Steep hills, short ones, less traffic than over the Rockies.

RE: That Guy... Need Help

Propane will also shut down if you turn the valve too quickly on the tank. Try closing the valve and turning slowly. I've had to do this a couple of times cuz I forget.

RE: I want to feel safe. Put my mind at ease.

The animals will be more of a problem than humans. Learn to scare a bear and leave the gun at home, esp with 7 year olds.

RE: MOUSE QUESTION

Dead mice don't rot in winter. They stay frozen and thaw out in the spring and the stink is horrific. Traps are the way to go, at least you know where they're at. And the sticky things cause a very slow death. Traps are quicker. I started with the catch and release traps but the only thing I know that will keep them away are spring traps.
