RE: gold claim

My husband and I used to do rockhounding as a hobby, gave most everything to Charlie's son after he passed away. Just not into it anymore, but we did have fun looking for gems and stones.

RE: Gate Attendants versus Campground Hosting

I have volunteered and have been a gate attendant. I enjoyed both, the volunteer position provided a site with full hook ups with a requirement of a minimum of 20 hours per week. Needless, to say if you are enjoying what you are doing, more than 20 hours is a breeze. As a gate attendant I was contracted and required to bid on each season, Summer April 1-September 30, Winter October 1-March 31. The hours were 6 am - 10 pm, working four days and off four days. A full hook up site was provided. The hours were long, but during the summer it was busy, so time went by quickly. The winter days were much slower, so needless to say much longer. However we had a wonderful gate house to work in that had bathroom, kitchen and a large room with TV. I do not know that I would ever do the gate attendant job again, but would definitely volunteer.

RE: Greyson was a good kitty.

Greyson was a beautiful kitty and was very fortunate to have lived in your life. He was free and happy and thanks to you did not have to suffer when it came time to cross over to the Rainbow Bridge. RIP-Greyson.

RE: Dear Abby you will be "Forever in our hearts"

I shed tears as I read your post. It brought back so many memories of my two Maltese that I lost almost 6 years ago. You and your wife will be in my prayers as Abby is bouncing and playing with so many babies at the Rainbow Bridge.

RE: So long camping friend

It always saddens me when I hear that someone had to let they baby go for whatever reason. Shadow was a beautiful boy and is now pain free and running and playing like it was a puppy. I truly believe that all of our past pets will meet us when it comes out time to go home. Sorry for your loss and the pain that you are having to go through.

RE: REMEMBERING ROSIE

So very sorry to hear about little Rosie, but you said it best she is living a wonderful life at the Rainbow Bridge. She gave you many happy times and loved you as much as you loved her. She would want you to be happy and keep the precious memories of her in your heart. There will be a hole in your life for a long time, because losing a loved one is never easy. Take care and you will be in my thoughts and prayers.

RE: Heart Broken

Losing a loved one whether it is two or four legged is so very hard and the healing process takes time. Remember your special times together and focus on the happiness your Rocky brought you. The Rainbow Bridge poem that was posted earlier is so true. Take time for yourself and let your mind and body go through the emotions to help you. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

RE: sleepy dog

I wake up at night and can't tell whether one of the dogs are snoring or if it is Pete:) He says I snore too, but just don't believe it:)

RE: Glimmers of brilliance ...LOL!

A empty water or food is unacceptable in Cody's world. He stands in front of it just staring and then looking at me. If that doesn't get my attention, he sits "pretty" in front of me, looking from me to his dish. He may be spoiled, but that is my fault and now he is set in his ways:)

RE: My new friend, he'll never replace Earl but he is with me

Congratulations on the new addition to your family. Sounds as if Storm has found his forever home and is very lucky to have you. You can never replace a furbaby in your life and that hole will take a long time to heal. One day at a time. Take care of yourself and give Storm a hug from me and my babies.
