How do I keep the water out? Mildew smell in my awning ?

Hey all, does anyone have any idea how to keep rain water out of the awning ends? I guess the rain is getting in my awning at the ends while it sits and when I get to the campground and open it up it smells like mildew. When I unroll the awning I can see small lines of water coming in from each end and they fade as they get to the middle of the awning. So it looks like the water is coming in at the ends. I never had this problem with my old camper, not sure why its different with this awning. Thanks

Does an External generator need to be grounded?

I have a 3000w external generator and the book says that I should ground it to something. Does the gen really need to be grounded and if so how would you ground it? Thanks

RE: Wheel Capacities

I have the HWT Series06 from HiSpec, and the rep at HiSpec told me that the wheels were all made the same the only difference that determined how much pressure the wheel could handle was the valve stem. Just a rubber stem is only good for 65psi, but a metal high pressure valve stem that gets bolted onto the wheel will hold from 80 to 110psi depending on the type of valve stem.

RE: Good or Bad experiences with RVWholesalers

We bought our first TT from them and the experience was good except that they did no sell me a large enough Equalizer hitch for the 1200 lb tongue weight. When we got ready to buy our 5th wheel I got a price from RVWholesalers and even got them to give me an additional discount for being a repeat customer. I then took that price to my local dealer and told them if they want the sale this is what I will pay for it. They agreed and I bought the 5er from the local dealer.

RE: Walking on roof?

How far will a roof give while walking on it? My old TT seemed like it was rock solid but my new 5th seems like it gives a little too much when I walk on it. Its supposed to be a full walk on roof. Last time I was up on it I crawled on it because I did not want to put all my weight on my feet in one spot. I'm only 180lbs. Also, there is one seam that seems like there is no support under it, is it normal to have a seam without support under it?

RE: Suggestions and Pictures Please!!

Here is a pic that you can see a couple of my flush mounts that I got from TSC. (front left and 2 in the rear on each side) I haul a big street bike and Quads. I put mine through the wood floor but on the bottom side instead of using small washers I made special long flat washers/brackets to distribute the weight. I made 2 washers/brackets to go on the bottom of each tie down they measure about 6"x2" each and I drilled 2 holes in each so they would bolt up to the bottom of the bracket. I also used Nylon lock washers to hold them on. Only difficult thing with the recessed mounts is that you have to cut a hole in the floor for the D-ring to go in. You must be careful when cutting this hole, you don’t want it too big or there will be no place to drill your bolt holes. I very slowly cut out the first hole then made a template for the remaining holes. I can get pics of the underside if you need them when I pick up the unit from the dealer this weekend. http://i416.photobucket.com/albums/pp241/ValkSmile/5thLiving.jpg

RE: Polaris vs the Others?

It's got a little over 100 hours on it. The plow was just put on this year and not used for very much at all. Overall it looks pretty good. The wheels and tires and seat still look new and it has bumpers front and rear and those metal bars around the cargo areas and there are no dents in any of the metal. Also has a winch.

Polaris vs the Others?

I'm new to the ATV world and what to know what you guys think about the Polaris. I was looking at a Sportsman 500. Are there certain years to stay away from? I actually found a 2002 Sportsman 500 with a snow blade with 416 miles on it for 3500. What do you think. Can ya help out a beginner. I"ve been riding street bikes for years, but most of them have been Hondas. Thanks for any info
