RE: Valve Stuck Open

Luckily I have a twist on valve in place, so the stuck black water valve was a nuisance rather than a disaster. All is well now. Thank you all for the help.

Valve Stuck Open

So I was dumping my black water tank this morning. Everything was fine until I tried to close the valve. It was stuck solid in the open position. Would not budge a bit. I tried spraying a little WD40 into the cable but it didn't help at all. Ran out of time and had to leave it that way, but it'll still be there next weekend. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas on where I should look? It's a 2012 Cedar Creek 36B4.

Add fluid to Level Up

I have a 2012 Cedar Creek 36B4 with the Level Up system. The Lippert manual says to check the fluid with all jacks retracted. Does this include the landing gear jacks? Question #2: what type of fluid do I use? ATF I know, but what type? The Lippert web site says to check with the manufacturer. I thought that was Lippert. I'm planning on calling Lippert on Monday, but I thought I'd pose the question here first.

New Truck Price

Just got a price quote for a new truck from dealer. It's for a 2013 F350 Lariat PSD CC Longbed and it has virtually every bell and whistle I can think of. The window sticker says $63,740 the quote was for $56,433. I think it's a pretty good price, how about all of you out there?
Thanks for your input.

2013 F350 PSD

Looking on Ford website for tow package info but can't seem to find it. Is there a tow package on the Lariat or King Ranch? If so what does it include?

New F350

Thinking about trading in or selling my 2006 F350 with the 6.0 PSD and upgrading to a new 2012 or 2013 F350 with the 6.7 PSD. Anyone have any thoughts, opinions or suggestions? I've read lots of horror stories about the 6.0 but I guess I've been pretty lucky. Haven't heard much about the 6.7.

RE: Progressive Insurance for 5th Wheel

Lost my 5er to Hurricane Irene back in 2011. In a week the appraiser saw the trailer and we picked up a check for upwards of $50K. Progressive is OK by me.

Synthetic Oil

I have a 2006 F350 with a 6.0 Diesel. It is due for a oil change and I've been thinking of using synthetic oil for the first time. Is this a good idea? If so, what is the best brand? All thoughts, opinions and comments are welcome. Thanks.

RE: Fifth wheels in campground without tags?

As long as it's not on public roads no tags (license plates) are required.

Low on Hydraulic Fluid?

I have a 2012 Cedar Creek 36B4. It has 4 slides and the "Level Up" system. At the moment all 4 slides are in, and, except for the landing jacks all the jacks are up. The reservoir for the hydraulic fluid is only half full. Is this normal or should the fluid be closer to the top? There is no "fill to" line on the reservoir. What do you all think?

RE: Noisy Slide Out

Thanks for the info.
So today I pulled all the slides in and checked the reservoir. There was less than 2 inches of fluid in there. Maybe a 1/2 inch more than when the slides are out. Could not find a "fill to" line so I'm still not sure if it is low.

Noisy Slide Out

My slide-out pump/motor makes an awful screeching sound when activated. Also takes a long time for the slides to start moving. I'm thinking I may be low on on hydraulic fluid. Any thoughts? Do I check the fluid with slides in or out?
The unit is a 2012 Cedar Creek 36B4.

Level Up Storage

I have a 2012 Cedar Creek 36B4 with the Level-Up system. When we put this baby to bed for the winter do we retract the jacks or leave them extended? I'm thinking they ought to be retracted, but I'm not sure. Owners manual doesn't address it either way. Opinions?

Slideout Selector Switches

Does anyone know how these switches are supposed to work? My 2012 Cedar Creek 36B4 has 4 slides and 4 selector switches. My understanding is that if you want to open or close a specific slide or slides you simply turn off the switch associated with the slide or slides that you do not want to open or close. Tried it that way and the slide I did not want to move started moving. Am I doing something wrong or do I have a problem? Owners manual is virtually useless. Thanks in advance for the ideas.
