I think we have plans for the weekend, but if we get a chance, I may see if I can talk Angie into driving over for a little bit on Saturday and check it out there. Do some scouting. But I know she mentioned something about decorating and knowing her, there will be some shopping included...lol10-4
Well he bought it! its an 05 5.9 4x4 crewcab long bed a little over 100K miles. The ball joints and tie rods and sway bar bushing were alljust replaced. he also got a 1 year powertrain warrenty. it has never had a 5er hitch or goose neck it it. it has also never had a brake box in it so I dont know how much towing was done if any. He has a big smile on his face lol.It also has a brand new set of firestone transforce AT tires on it. Thanks for all the feed back. wills250psd
3 pages and no sign of the OP... Can y'all say, "I've been had?"Sorry I could not respond before now I have been workin. Now to clear up a few things, he is the original owner, he ordered it from ford, no chip or any other mods of any kind, something let go and the block is not salvagable. The truck has been garaged since day one! the ford dealer recomends a remaned engine. There is no reason this should have hapened! I have owned 2 6.0 psd trucks an 04 and an 06 both left me stranded and the 04 stayed in the shop ona monthly basis. I also purchased both brand new.I am the o p btw. wills 250psd
At a dealer where my son is looking at a CTD, they have a F650 with a caterpiler engine,it looks really good and has 165K miles, the bed is st up foe a 5er or gooseneck and a reciever hitch on the back. It is a crewcab with all power equip. I think its around an 01 model. the price is $15500. I would like to have it if I had the $.
Well as you can see by my sig I own a 08 6.4 and its had some probs over its 80K miles many of which are towing miles. Well yesterday my freind called me and after 67K miles with all on schedule maintenence and taking well care off, The engine had BLOWN UP!. He is mad, he has had to replace 2 injectors and an engine wireing harness about 2 years ago that cost over 2 grand. so if you think about it the truck cost 37K with 2K in repairs plus all maint at ford, thats over $40K for 67K of unreliable service. He now has an great looking yard ornament with his recent job loss no way to fix it.SAD AINT IT!
Hello, my son is looking at a o5 2500 crew cab long bed 4x4. I know about tranny probs but this one is a straight drive. I also know the frontend issues in some of them. I would like to know about the ctd in this model year? any known probs, how many miles to expect with good past and future maintenance, any info appriciated.
Will, how is the water there for kayaking? Might be a good place to take our kayaks.I would think it would be good, certain times of the day the tide is strong. just have to see when the tide changes but I would do it.
We spent many holidays including thanksgiving at OL over the years and we always had 3 or 4 other families with us. We always deep fried a couple turkeys. We sometimes used the recreation hall to eat at if the weather was bad. Have a great time and HAPPY HOLIDAYS. Will and Shannon
This is the reason I have an American 1 tonne pickup, most Australian TC's are quite small, to fit on smaller 1/2 ton Japanese/korean/Thailand built, tray top utilities.
Large Pickups as you ask, are pretty rare, most here who want something larger than our smaller pickups go for Izusu, Hino or similar medium sized Truck, as new American pickups here are in excess of $120,000.00 after shipping from US and right hand drive conversion, to meet Australian compliance.
I needed a larger dual rear wheel US pickup, with a large diesel, to carry the 2 tonnes plus that new camper, with water, personal items, food & fuel, will weigh.
Our total population is now 23 million, across Australia, which 80% live on the Eastern seaboard.
Australian Slide-On Campers are very good, most hand made, in small family owned companies.
Most Australia love Tent Camping, Travel Trailers & Motorhomes as it is much safer here, no bears, no guns, just a few snakes & spiders. Just need to be careful.
Com'on Down, We are very friendly, Australia has very wide open spaces & great cities as well as, Kangaroos, Koalas, Bunble Bungles, Ayers Rock, Great Barrier Reek, Kakadu, Ord River, The Ghana Railway, drain tree RainForrwst, Blue Mountains, Sailing on Lake Eyre, Wilpena Pound, Sydney Harbour & Opera House, Kangaroo Island, The Apostles, Rottnest Island, Tasmania, etc.
Look up some of these places, amazing, just like the US, but far less people.
Enjoy, the outdoors, where ever you are! DougI would love to make it down their one day! I doubt it will ever happan. I would like to see all those wide open spaces. Thanks for the insight, Will
