RE: Power Awning?

FWIW we've had a power awning as standard equipment on our last 2 campers. I'd go make to a manual in a heartbeat. Sure the convenience of just pushing a switch is great but IMHO the manual awnings are alot more stable in the wind and can be tied down. You'll hear conflicting reports about being able to tie down a power awning.

RE: Vent covers

Put them on toolguy5, you'll be glad you did. Keeping the vents open in rainy weather, although not all the way, is one advantage. Protecting the plastic vent covers from UV rays is another plus.

RE: Turned thermostat up for heat/ Air conditioner came on.

I'm thinking your AC compressor didn't kick on, just the fan. Like dbbls said your fan needs to be set on auto. Alot of Forest River products use a Dometic single zone digital thermoatat. Don't know if yours is but if it is look on pages 8 & 9 of the Tstat manual.

RE: another delay

We ordered our 5er late Feb of 2012. Dealer said the usual '6-8 weeks'. Dealer called us after 6 weeks and said it will be a 2014! It arrived at the dealer 1 week later so a total of 7 weeks. Spring is not only the busiest time for manufacturers but also for the delivery people. I agree with others, getting exactly what you want will be worth the wait.

RE: RV shopping.....loss of deposit?!

That's why you get everything, I mean everything, in writting signed by salesperson and you. Now, if you're ordering out, manufacturers do have the right to make changes, says so on the back of every brochure.

RE: Backing Newbie

Don't know if you use this little backing trick or not. Start with tv and camper straight. Put your hand at the bottom of the steering wheel. While backing up move your hand in the direction you want the back of the camper to go.

RE: Camping World Catalogue

Hey Racefan1 you are not alone. I don't have mine yet either so I'm giving up and heading to WalMart and a local RV dealer tomorrow to spend my money. But I bet we both recieve our renewal notices on time :). And you can guess what I'm going to do with it.

I've seen stuff that said 'internet only' and my local(1 hour away)CW has honored that price in the store no problem.

RE: no trailer for 8 weeks

We ordered our Sabre late last Feb and it was at the dealer 7 weeks to the day we placed our order. Well worth the wait time considering we got exactly what we wanted as far as options go.
