RE: Fogged Window Solution

We just had 3 windows done at Suncoast. They are very professional and the RV parking is clean with water & elec. They have an onsite dump also.

RE: Veterans Heart Disease

I did three tours from 1965-1971 and had a heart attack in 1995 and just had another last Sunday nite. Flew as a door gunner from Chu Lai up to the DMZ and all places inbetween. Also have TypeII Diabetes and my claim was denied three years ago. That sucked, but I do live in N. Carolina and that was to be expected I suppose not that I'm complaining. LOL JMHO
These are presumptive diseases, that is if you were there, boots on ground, you should not be denied. I would contac a State/County Veterans Service Officer reapply something is not right.
VA News Release I agree! Presumptive means if you were there and you have it, you are automatically approved. Use a different service officer this time - ask around who is a good one. Some that work for local government get lazy and don't put as much effort into it.
I agree also.
Contact an NSO (National Service Officer) from either VFW, Legion, DAV, Amvets. They are trained in how to do the paperwork. And they work for free. They can say the same thing on a claim that you said BUT they put it into words that fit the VA description of the problem. For my claim I used DAV and their office was across the hall from the VA. They walked the info over to the VA.

RE: Iraq What to send a young guy

One thing to consider---when I was in Nam and we went on a patrol we avoided anything scented. (Aftershave, deodorant, wipes, etc) Those guys (VC) could smell you a mile away as it was a foreign scent to them. Might be the same thing now.

RE: LCD TV Slide Out Tray

I bought the bracket from AmericanRVCompany. They were great to deal with and shipped it right away. They also sell it thru EBAY for the same price.
I put a piece of plywood into the cabinets above to spread the weight around. I used a sink drain for running my cables (see below pic). I made a couple of braces for each side of TV when it is in the up position (see pic). This was to take the vibration out when traveling. (The mount locks in the up position but TV can still shake). I used "t-nuts" for the inside of the cabinets mounted into the plywood to hold the threaded rod.
DICK
On edit: The plywood the mount is attached to was to space the TV lower so it would be able to clear the windshield molding when in the up position.

RE: Bad drivers both WITH and WITHOUT an RV

When we renewed our DL the clerk just finished with another guy and she was laughing about it. The story--He had taken the driving test a few days before and failed it because when he talked he used his hands so he kept taking his hands off the wheel. This day he got in the car and told the tester: "This is the last words I'm going to say until this test is over", and he didn't talk again til it was over and he had passed his test. They had to pass him but you know he will be talking when he is driving and is unsafe.

RE: Always looking for feedback and constructive thoughts

No problems with the stores. Problems with the service areas. Last time I used one was when our A/C went out in very hot weather. We got a new one and had it installed since I didn't have a way to get it up on the roof. Then after we left the area it quit working. Called CW and they said it was Dometic's problem. Called Dometic and they sent someone to fix it BUT he didn't. Couldn't find the problem. I finally solved the problem myself with the help of this forum. The installer didn't hook something up correctly. I emailed the CW store to let them know what happened to help avoid this with someone else. Asked for a reply and they didn't answer me. I just wanted them to know and then let me know they were aware of the installer's lack of competence. I did not ask for any compensation for my inconvenience. That is not "Customer Service"!

When we stop, the last thing I check before leaving (rest area, fuel stations, etc) is to make sure all my pins are still hooked up. Too many stories about jerks pulling the pins.

RE: Worst Pills, Drug-Induced Diseases

Ask your Dr about SynVisc. It is rooster comb that they inject in your knees. I've been on it (series of 3 shots one week apart for 3 weeks) for 3 years and I have minimal pain and that happens near the end of the year when I'm due for another round. My problem is arthritis also.
DICK
Glad that is working for you. Any problem with crowing in the morning?
:B
just kidding
Nope--no crowing although my head seems to bob back and forth when I walk. :B

RE: Glacier National Park Satellite and Cell reception

A few years ago we were there (can't remember campground name) and there was a rock in the campground that people stood on for cell phone reception. We thought they were kidding us until we didn't have any reception and tried the rock. It worked!

We also use those organizations for local info such as sights to see, repairs, etc.

i am there now. The folks are very nice. Campground is nice. Location is great. Only negative (for me) is the tree coverage--can't set up either my TV dish or internet dish. Their wifi has been cutting out throughout the day.

RE: Worst Pills, Drug-Induced Diseases

I also was just prescribed Celebrex for some arthritis in my knee and neck but after reading the many possible side effects, as well as possible increased risk of heart trouble affecting my stent-implant, I will just deal with the pain rather than increase my risk of complications or death.
