As far as excitement, I say shorten all the races, there too long.... put more emphasis on qualifying! If they trash an engine qualifying let them put a new one in penalty free! Shouldn't have to go to the back for busting your tail in practice and qualifying.
Qualifying is about the car and the driver. A replacement engine could be a little faster or slower than the first engine. It could be enough to have changed your qualifying position for the better or worse.

If the OP had to find someone 40 miles away to clean gutters and add gutter screens then the price is probably high due to limited competition.
I had Leafguard gutters installed when my house was built in 2001. They cost three to four times what aluminum seamless gutters would have cost, but I think it was worth it. Sure, I could clean the gutters twice a year, but that is a pain. If it cost $100 each time to have someone do it I would be at break even right now. The reality is I probably would be too cheap to pay someone to do it and I would do it myself. If I did it myself there is a high risk of injury.
The gutters seem as clean as the day they got installed. I'm not aware of rain overflowing the guttters, but I haven't paid that much attention.

RE: Scary Towing Sights This Week...

I was at an event and one of the vendors was camped in a travel trailer. We passed them on the highway on the way home and it was a damn scary sight. They were towing the travel trailer with a Dodge Ram van. The front tires were practically off the ground! The tow vehicle might have been good enough for the weight, but the hitch setup certainly wasn't correct.
I had an F-350 with proper hitch to tow my travel trailer. The F-350 was probably overkill, but the price difference between an F-250 and F-350 isn't much.

Affinity purchasing the RV.com domain name doesn't mean they intend to use it as another portal into these forums. If you go to RV.com right now there is just a announcement stating a new site is coming in August.

Something doesn't smell right here .... or at least smells real "sloppy" ... probably because the Affinity Group Inc. did indeed leave them separate for a long time, either intentionly to maximize margins or through lack of good business acumen.
Just because the President's Club at Camping World wasn't a benefit of Good Sam Club until recently doesn't mean Affinity was doing anything nefarious.
Companies often maintain multiple brand names with separate benefits for buying different brands. Nothing sinister about it.

was not very good I would have been on my own. I have been sitting here trying to decide if it would be a waste of time to call them and try to have them pay me back for the service I paid them to provide. I would like know what good sam would do in this situation.
Coach-Net only pays the dispatch and travel fees for an on-site mechanic. The parts and labor while the mechanic is at your vehicle are not covered. I had a problem in the middle of nowhere and a mobile mechanic had to drive three hours each way. Coach-Net covered the travel time although Coach-Net may have a flat rate deal with the provider. I had to pay about $300 for the time the mechanic was fixing my motorhome.
Coach-Net tells you about the one service per incident right in the benefits guide.

If it was included in the paperwork at renewal time wouldn't that be telling the customer? I have no idea why an insurance company would raise someone's deductible as insurance companies charge more when you have a lower deductible.

The riding mower I used in the early to mid 90s makes that Dixie Chopper seem inexpensive. It was a Toro Groundsmaster with diesel engine and 72" deck. The cost in 1992 was $22,000. Not even an enclosed cab for that kind of money. The Groundsmaster was a really good product back in the day, but this wasn't even one of the larger fancy models. Back then Zero Turns were brand new.
Personally, I think I would take a Toro Groundsmaster over a Zero Turn. I could really make that Groundsmaster cut close and I never hit anything. It was almost if that mower was an extension of my body. If anyone else used my mower when I was gone it would almost always have the discharge chute bent up when I got back.

Something new with some insurance companies is they no longer pay the entire cost of a new roof unless the roof was very new. They will depreciate the cost of replacing your roof so if already needed a new roof when a hail storm hit the insurance company pays nothing. I checked with my agent and my policy still pays the entire cost of a replacement roof minus deductible no matter the age of the roof.
If your policy says a $500 deductible I would fight them all the way on that one. I would check to be sure at renewal time they didn't change the deductible on you. I think a lot of people never read all the paperwork at renewal time except for the cost of the policy.

Thanks for the link to that part. I must have done my initial search wrong as I found a number of 50 amp RV to L14-30 adapters on my second try.
Most places list the Camco product as L14-30 so I ordered that from Amazon. Camco's own website lists it as both L14-50 and L14-30 so I don't know what is going on.

How to best to connect 50 amp RV to Yamaha EF6300iSDE?

I have a Yamaha EF6300iSDE generator I recently purchased. It has L5-30 and L14-30 outlets on it.
How do I best connect a 50 amp RV up to this generator? All of the converters from 50 amp RV receptacle to locking plugs are for an L14-50 receptacle on the generator side. There are 30 amp RV receptacle to L14-30 locking plug, but that doesn't allow me to use all the power of the generator.
Camco has a 55422 adapter that is described in some places with a L14-30 plug and other places with a L14-50 plug. If this has L14-30 it is exactly what I want.

Sometimes the state vehicle fees make no sense - a state will charge very high fees, and then many of it's residents will spend time AND money to find a way around the high fees.
The thing is the vast majority of the taxpayers will pay their registration/property taxes. I doubt if a high tax state lowered their vehicle registration fees by 25% that revenue would increase by 25%. Luxury goods like yachts are another story. Rich folks will do anything they can to avoid high taxes on their expensive toys.
Here in Minnesota we had fairly high registration fees up until 1999. A lot of vehicles "lived" in Wisconsin as they had lower fees. The fees were lowered in 1999. Registration fees went back up in 2009 only for newly registered vehicles. I don't know if the fees are as high as before.
I just paid my renewal on a 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan (stripped version!) and it was $280. My motorhome was also $280. The renewal goes down over time for the car, but the motorhome is based on weight and never goes down.

The ironic thing is SC has some of the lowest fuel taxes with the best roads, and NY has the highest taxes with the worst roads
Probably a few million more people there too.
Those millions of people burn lots of fuel so with high fuel taxes they should be able to have half way decent highways. New York City itself has lots of transit users, but New York is a pretty big state.
Metro areas are fairly expensive places to keep up roads, but rural areas aren't much cheaper. There are miles and miles of roads to connect all the spread out houses and farms that may see very little traffic, but still need repairs and maintenance. In some states rural roads cost more per capita than roads cost in metro areas.

I use Pacific Pride Cardlock and save anywhere from .10 to.50 a gallon off of local prices.I do have to pay monthly,but that's just as well.
Interesting. I've read reports from others on RV.net that Pacific Pride is often higher than other stations in the area, but that they like the convenience. I don't recall others saying Pacific Pride is a lot cheaper than others. I suppose the volume one does matters.

Fuel taxes help explain some of the difference in fuel prices between states or regions, but certainly not all of the difference in prices.
My motorhome has a 150 gallon tank so I fill up in states where the fuel is cheapest.

You do realize that CW RoadCare, Good Sam, and Coach-Net all just hire contractors to provide service. The dispatcher would have no idea that the contractor hired a just released convict.
Not providing service for an entire weekend would be a different issue.

If one watches people at consumer gas stations, the behavior of actually pulling away from a pump is something learned. The average person will park, get gas, go in and shop and leave their vehicle at a pump. It is only a few people who actually won't hog. Because of the fact that few consumers move their rigs once fueled up or know the system at a commercial truck stop, it causes the friction always mentioned.
At a regular gas station the pump often can't be used by another customer until the first customer pays inside. (If the customer did pay at pump that is a different situation.) I forgot my wallet about a dozen years ago and the attendant just had me leave my car at the pump while I waited for someone to bring my wallet. Nobody else could pump gas at that pump until I paid.

I always pull forward when done fueling at a truck lane. I always travel with friends who take shifts driving. Sometimes they won't pull forward when done while I am inside paying and I get really mad at them.
If my friends are still inside making purchases I have been known to pull completely away from the pumps to the parking lot to not block the pumps.
The biggest problem I have with fueling at a truck lane is my fuel tanks are much further forward than a semi. If a semi has pulled forward I cannot get up to the pump until they leave.

I used Freeway Storage a number of years back. Price was right with good security.
The only problems were I had an end spot and someone took out the passenger side mirror on my motorhome. Also, the lot was/is gravel and the tires sunk into the lot over the winter. I had a heck of a time getting out of the spot after winter. They did regrade my spot while I was gone. Neither issue would stop me from going back.
