RE: Old dead refrigerator

Thank you Doug. Thats the kind of info I was looking for. When I bought the trailer a few days ago the owner said (for what thats worth) that the refer worked fine when he last used it about 15 years ago. It has just sat parked behind his house. There are no signs of leakage and the cooling unit coils look and feel in fine condition. I could also hear liquid in it when I removed it.I just wanted to try something before I replaced it. Thanks again, Marty

Old dead refrigerator

I have aquired a vintage (1964) travel trailer. The refer is a small Dometic. It trys to get cold but not quite. I seem to remember someone saying to remove it and turn it upside down for a while and it may work fine. Anyone have any experience with this? If so, how long do you leave it upside down and how long before you light it after standing it right side up? It is a model #MC-16c. Thanks, Marty
