RE: Philadelphia to Florida

from SE PA I take 95 into Delaware . hop on 896 to 301 to 50.. cross the CB Bridge and back onto 301 S down to Bowling Green and back on 95 S. then 295 around Richmond back to 95.. The only way I stay on 95 threw the big cities is in the middle of the night...Joe
x1 When we lived in Philly, traveling south to visit the folks, this was the ONLY way we traveled!

RE: I may be upgrading...

I looked at a lot of MHs today, we liked what we saw and price of a FR Georgetown 335.
While the coach looks very nice, I noticed on the floor plan that the queen bed is a short queen. Don't know if it matters to you or not but it is only 74" and not the traditional 80". While I am definitely vertically challenged, this 6" was huge even to me in a previous unit we owned for a very short period of time.

RE: campground suggestion, northeastern North Carolina

My wife and I will be traveling south at the end of February, on I- 85. I'd like to find a campground for an overnight stop maybe thirty miles east of Greensboro. Any suggestions?
Bandaid
None of these suggestions are east of Greensboro. Do you mean south of Greensboro?? But Greensboro is not in Northeastern NC. It is in the Piedmont. There is one campground in Chapel Hill which is going to be your best bet. Sadly, there really are not any campgrounds in this area.

RE: PA turnpike

Starting from New Bern, NC--------Will travel from new bern, nc, Raleigh-NC, Mt Airy-NC, Roanoke-Va, Harrisonburg-va, Winchester-Va, then would need to be at Greensburg-Pa and Erie-PA, Buffalo-NY, Syracuse-NY, Scranton-Pa, Abingdon-Va, then home
When we travel to Pittsburgh to visit family, from Raleigh we take I-95 North to Fredericksburg. Out of Fredericksburg, we take Hwy 17 West to I-66. Follow I-66 West to I-81, then take I-81 North to Winchester. Take Hwy 522 North to Breezwood and the the turnpike. We have traveled several different routes, none are good but this is the best. The problem with going through West VA is there is so much construction going on right now and speed limits are very slow as well as lots of traffic. There are also police at every construction zone so watching your speed limit is a must!
It is out of the way to go to Roanoke and then I-81 unless you have lots of time and just want to see something different.
Happy travels! :)

RE: Which Food Saver Vacuum Machine to purchase?

This is our third in about 12 years. We absolutely love this model compared to the other ones we have had. It is much more user friendly.
The only reason we have had so many is that 2 of them were damaged in moving and storing.

RE: Atlanta Parks

This place is in the Marietta area just north of the I285 loop:

Do you have personal knowledge of the place? Looks like it did not get good reviews on rvparkreviews.

RE: over night parking

Has any one gone to overnightrvparking.com. or use the site to fine a park. They want $24.00 a year to use the site.
is this a fly by night site that take your money and run. If you did use this site tell me more about it. Like to here from you.
jo
I used this site for the first few years when it was starting up (for free) and then they charged for it. If I was still traveling cross country would still probably use it. Have not checked into the free ones and maybe if I did they would be good also.
It is not a fly by night site but a business. I use to give then updates and for every one that was used got I think 6 months free service or something like that. It used to be very current but don't know if that is still the case
RV Jim
It is very current and up to date. I was also a member when it was free. I have paid my dues on an annual basis and receive emails periodically, and often, when there are updates. Great tool to use when traveling.

RE: I am appalled!

It would be interesting to see how the "fine" would be collected. Small claims court?
You know what? I will never find out because I will never not pick up after my dog. That is not my problem, but it is the problem of the management.

I am appalled!

This is our first camping trip with our 4 month old puggle. As many of you know who has had puppies this age, they are just like babies. Everything goes in the mouth! That includes poop of the dogs that their owners are either too lazy or just don't care enough to pick up behind their pets. No wonder we have to pay more pet fees at campgrounds.
We have reservations at a park for New Years that has changed their rules about pets. They now say there will be a $25 fine if an owner is caught not cleaning up behind their pet. I never go out with her without a plastic bag in my pocket. I have learned to expect the unexpected with her.
Just venting as we have had a rough day trying to walk her at the beach.

RE: queen sheets

I've bought sheets and bedspreads from this company in South Carolina and they make great products: AB Lifestyles
x1!! The bottom sheets fit perfectly and you can order the depth that you need. Also, the top sheet is fitted at the bottom. No more creeping out! Love these sheets!
As a previous poster said, make sure you have a full queen and not the short queen mattress.

RE: Myrtle Beach Travel Park - Late January

In the not too distant past. they didn't open the whole CG in the winter, just certain sections. Could have changed though.
I remember that but according to their website it' all seems to be open now. The part that used to be closed was in the wooded sites along the road in before hitting the pools area.
... Eric
The section in the woods still remain closed during the winter months. The remainder of the campground is open and not crowdedThe remainder of the campground is open and not crowded.
I beg to differ, and I will find out for sure when we are there next week, but if I am not wrong, they do close a portion of the other part of the campground and are now offering sites with meters for winter use.

RE: 1997 alagro bus

I tried their web site, but they only go back to 2005, would there be another site?
thanks,
Cork
If you have joined the forum, you will find lots of info on a 1997 Bus by doing a search. I don't believe you can view this unless you are signed in as a member but this is a link I found by just doing a search for 1997 Allegro Bus.
Good luck.
