RE: New Tires

While I can't speak to the Bridgestone, everything I've heard has been positive. I can say that Hankook would be a excellent choice also. Let the best price win.

RE: Slide out storage weight?

On a topic of this magnitude, I still say opinions are counterproductive and potentially worse than useless. You need facts from the manufacturers.

RE: Slide out storage weight?

Best check with the manufacturer on that one. Mine is rated at 200 lbs or less.

RE: Batteries overcharging

It might help to identify the coach spefics as well as info on the inverter that's installed.

RE: Class A in this campground is to big with toad...

Good for you but I have to reason to push the maneuverability limits with a toad attached. Seen those that did than block the road to unhook at the site.....they really look foolish. For an overnighter I always ask for a site that I can get into without unhooking but still, it only takes a couple of minutes to unhook/hook and time is cheap, paint expensive.

RE: What is the right way?

It's sort of "wherever" depending on the length of the pad, layout, park policy, etc. In general I tend to park in front as it makes for easier unloading of supplies after shopping. Sometime I have to position the coach in the site for Sat reception or avoid obstacles with the slides or awning so the toad goes wherever it's convienant.

RE: What do you DIY'ers use to jack and secure your rig?

I put the coach on some blocks and attach a hose from my air compressor into the coach air fitting. Due to the shape of my pad that allows me enough room to get underneath.

RE: Pulling my hair out talking to India!!!!!!!

Simply tell them you can not understand them and ask to be transferred. You can also ask for tier 2 support. Your request should be granted immediately without discussion.

RE: Full-timing with an infant

Perasonally, I think that if I were full-timing with an infant I would go with a 5er in a tow hauler configuration. The back being a great place to kid-proof once they get out of infant stage...which is pretty bloody quick. Since you will need a play room in short order IMHO the wee one would be less destructive in the "garage".

RE: Beware of Flying J

I have seen different prices at the RV pumps...sometime higher than the truck lanes. I'm also no sure if the fly J card give the same discount either but since I only use the truck lanes I'm not sure. On the other hand if you have been using Fly J without other problems, I would chaulk it up to an ah shucks and just keep an eye on it for other instances. Did you ask anyone at Flying J for an explanation??

RE: Hot Water

Sounds about right from cold. The one on my TT had both gas and electric so I would run both which helped a lot....especially for a quicker recover between showers.

RE: Using air brake air nipple to fill bike tires

No problem. Many use it just that way and you're not stealing it cause it's unlikely you would be filling tires while the coach is being driven.

RE: Campgrounds

I to would rather not be in a "family oriented" rv park so we avoid ones with a lot of activities such as water parks and the like. The more out of the way ones work well as do RV/Golf resorts.

RE: Dumping air when parked

Depends on the coach and the type of leveling system. With ours the sequence is: Slide out, dump air, level. I could level without dumping but as the tanks lose air I always worry about the tires leaving the ground and that's not a good thing.

RE: Custom Portable Propane Soft Tub!

Since you are, as you say, "This is my first motor home and im new to it all!," I'd concentrate on getting the basics down before you think about bringing a hot tub along. Do some camping first and see how it all works. Just thinkin'. Good advice, set the hot tub aside until you have more experience. I think you will find that using and emptying it will be a MAJOR problem in most RV parks. They will certainly get upset dumping the water on the ground regardless of you assurances it's (just water)

RE: Toyo vs Hankook Tires

I had Toyos that ran for 10 years until they were replaced by Hankooks. Both are great tires IMHO and you won't go wrong with either choice....might as well just shop price and not worry about it.

RE: Chassis Battery

If you add an echo charge like this: Magnum It will solve the problem.

RE: Bedroom Slide...Full Timer

Hello all...our bedroom slide has shifted and the left side has come in about 3 inches. I removed the jacks underneath, attempted to expand back out and it wouldn't work. I push the close and the slide started to come in more. Thoughts anyone? FYI, it might help if you would give some details about the coach. Perhaps some info on the "jacks" you removed as well.

RE: 40' Newmar 400HP vs 370HP Cummins

Best guess, you will never notice the difference. Perhaps if one of each were drag racing up a hill, the higher HP might pull ahead but only if the weights were the same. Go for whichever one you like the best and don't obsess about the HP. This is the smallest consideration when buying a MH unless you will do nothing but go uphill. Fuel economy, in reality, is also a non issue. Really, who care if one get better or worse mileage as they will all be withing 1/2 mpg and that is a very minor difference in a trip cost. You would be amazed at how many folks don't even bother checking the fuel economy cause it just doesn't matter. Like someone on this forum said: "If you have to worry about the fuel, you shouldn't buy it"
