RE: Toilet Question

I'm surprised no one said its for washing dishes... My friend showed me that your handheld shower sprayer may reach over to the toilet. That sure would have been a lot easier than a fork.

RE: hitch blocked by another trailer

In our scout troop we would have sent one of the new guys to go find a sky hook, then you could lift the tongue of the camper over far enough to hitch up.

RE: Lurker pop up

Doesn't come up on forums.woodalls.com At least not for me, but RV.net it does.

RE: How the pro RV transporters tow

I talked to a transporter at a rest area that was delivering a new TT. I asked him if be liked it and he said he was delivering it. (Didn't realize he was delivering it at the time since I was still new to RVing). He had just bought a new to him diesel and it was running rough. Most have been a smoker because he was putting a nice thick film of black soot all down the side of this new camper. He was trying to clean it off and it was t going well. He also told me that coming down a grade you should manually use the brake controller and let the TT brakes slow you down. I'm glad it wasn't my camper!

RE: Va. St parks and pet fee

Between the dog fee and not being able to reserve a specific site, I haven't stayed in a VA State Park in several years. And we love Grayson Highlands.

RE: job to do from the road

She probably won't 'have' to work, but feels that she must. Mainly to keep from being bored! She loves campfires and marshmallows, but probably won't feel like doing that all day!

RE: ProPride 3p hitch

I bought my Propride hitch right after I bought my 35+ foot Jayco Eagle. We were planning a 6000 mile trip to Yellowstone. Wyoming had some severe crosswinds during that trip and in barely felt them. I would definitely buy another one. I have a dually TV now and the Propride makes traveling a breeze.

RE: Very major and costly recall for Chrysler pending

I would think that any vehicle with a direct hit on the fuel tank would catch on fire. I'm surprised they haven't made gasoline illegal since it is so dangerous.

RE: Idiotic and Craven Vandals in National Parks

Let them play in the waters of Yellowstone.... probably wouldn't do that but once.

RE: Black tank - small leak into drain pipe.

Another cause of my gray tank leak was a piece of plastic, more like a plastic wrap. Not sure how it got in there, but more than likely from the manufacturing process (like a workers sandwich wrapper tossed in)

RE: Black tank - small leak into drain pipe.

I use one of the external twist on valves to keep from being "surprised" when I take the cap off. On my camper the distance from the gray valve to the outlet was about 6 feet or so, so depending on the angle of the dump station, I always had water dump out before I pulled the valve. You can try and find out why yours is letting some by, but it could just be that it is not angled toward he drain as you are dumping and when you close the valve some is trapped. Some times I drive up on my Lego blocks at the dump station if it is not busy to get better drainage. Some dump stations are on a hill in my area... One of these external valves can help when either of your valves fail. http://www.campingworld.com/shopping/item/twist-on-valve/27868

RE: Trailer Life Magazine

Thanks for the info. Another way around companies using your card number again (one reason to NEVER use debit card for online purchases) is to use virtual credit card numbers. My Citibank card has them and it generates a one time credit card number that is different from your card number. So even if they keep the number it won't work next year when they 'auto-renew'.

RE: I'm a retired salesman

Why don't they just sell it for the same price to everybody? You don't haggle over prices at Walmart.

RE: Registering Trailer in a State Other Than Actual Residency

I'm surprised no one mentioned a Montana LLC for his friends new out of state 'business'.

RE: Almost made a huge mistake

As mentioned the Megacab is the payload killer. My crewcab has 3.73 and the payload is 4400 lbs. if you want a monster cab for your back seat passengers then go with the Mega. I don't ride back there so the crewcab is fine with me.

RE: surge protector

What is wrong with the portable ones from Progressive Industries? I just bought this 30 Amp for my TT. PI 30 Amp I know it doesn't have the fancy display but it still should protect my camper right?

RE: Eliminating new trailer smell?

Surprised this is still an issue. Our new Jayco TT was festooned with stickers stating the construction materials were CARB compliant and low emissions/formaldehyde free. It smells more like plywood than an embalming room, and airs out quickly when opened up. :h That is exactly why I bought a Jayco. They use plywood (look under the bunk mattress) and not the formaldehyde laced particle board. Other campers gave the DW and I a headache after 30 seconds inside while we were looking.

RE: Best gas card

X2 on Penfed. Instead of silly points and other 'offers' that may expire, they actually deduct a cash amount from your bill. 5% is a lot larger than 5 cents off a gallon like some people think is a good deal. With most prices over $4 you will save at least 20 cents a gallon.
