RE: No 12 volt power in travel trailer

Most batteries have a resettable breaker usually mounted on the frame near the battery. Some you push to reset, others require the battery to be unhooked and then rehooked. Use your volt meter to see if you have 12v at the block by the back of the refrig. There's are fuses on your control board(black box by the back of the refrig)that usually has two fuses in it that controls the eye boards for the refrig and a/c.

RE: Refrigerator fans

I used one but hate to depend on batteries. For the Refrig. you might want to try one of these. Refrigerator fans Fan 2

RE: No 12 volt power in travel trailer

After being continually hooked up for 2 years with a 12 year old converter, the first thing I would check is your battery. Is it dry? How many volts is it actually puttting out? Most appliances depend on the 12 volt control boards to work. Start with the battery.

RE: Battery disconnect when plugged in at home?

My 3-stage charger is not supposed to overcharge the batteries, but i have found that the charger does more than just maintain the battery once fully charged. That is why I manually disconnect (switch) after the batteries are fully charged. I leave my rig plugged into a 20amp plug. I've read that many converters don't work properly when there are no batteries present. Make sure you read about your converters' requirements about having a battery or not.

RE: can I use a site with 50amp with my 30amp plug??

In my limited experience with adapters, I seem to remember the hard plastic all-in-one adapters tend to get hot. I've never had that happen with the dog bone style. Again, my experience with them is limited...just an observation. X2

RE: can I use a site with 50amp with my 30amp plug??

I suggest the one with the 1 foot pigtail (dog bone adapter).

RE: 14" tires

In a 14" I would look at the Kumho 857 tires. Keep in mind that they are not ST tires so the size will be aliitle taller. A 195/14 is about equal to a 205/75R14 ST tire. Great tires that have higher load rating, just make sure your rim can handle the higher PSI. Kumho 857

RE: Boat or RV ?

We have both. We find that the Rv gives us much more interaction with other people. We always meet new and interesting people wherever we camp. Boating is a more solitary recreation where we enjoy the people that come aboard with us. Most interaction with other people when you have a boat is manuevering for a spot at the launch ramp and can end up as a not so enjoyable experience. To choose only one, I vote for the RV.

RE: Trailer novice here, can you help me plug in my TT?

The cord that Roy has pictured is the cord you would need at a campground where you would normally plug into a 30amp receptacle. You need 30 amps to run everything in your trailer, especially the air conditioner. When at home, most people do not have a 30 amp receptacle so they use the adapter to plug into a 15 amp circuit. Keep in mind when plugged into the 15 amp you have to minimize what you run or you will throw the breaker.

RE: Disney tickets for Anaheim.

If you are going to stay at an RV park nearby try Anaheim RV Resort. Give them a call as I think they sell tickets there also.

RE: I was just wondering (Fuel Question)

Alot of the small, but high H.P. engines require the mid grade. My SIL has to use it in her BMW and the neighbor needs it for his Nissan. Where do you find 89 cheaper than 87? If it's cheaper, I may switch for my two gas powered vehicles. (TV is diesel)

RE: How long to get cold!

If you are going to buy a fan for the inside of the refrig. consider something like this rather than one of those battery operated cubes they sell at the RV store. Fridge fan or Fan #2
