RE: Running 4 gauge wires through trailer wall from batteries.

I did this last year on my solar project. Instead of a junction box, I just used 2 PCV strain relief fittings and sealed around them with silicone. The #2 cable fit perfectly and its fully watertight.

Inside the basement, I cut a hole on the front which gave me access to the back of the diamond plate. I then put in a low voltage boxe and modified a blank plate with holes and grommets to protect the cables.

It worked great and looks good too.

RE: Sorry about beating the LED horse to death but...

I bought 14 of those same LED's from the same seller this spring in two batches and every one has the same warm color with no odd tones. There is no noticeable difference between the original bulbs and these LED's. I would complain and get him to replace them.

RE: Low cost Solar Charge Controller help

You may want to consider the Prostar PS15. Its only $15 more but provides 3 stage charging which I don't think the SS20 does. Its 5A less capacity but with a single panel you should be fine.

RE: Ebay LED vs. CW or Command Elec.

X2 - all I see are $35 and up on eBay.
You might be seeing the 10 pack pricing. Here is a link to the ebay store that most people are ordering from.

RE: Remote home temperature monitor

I use a USB sensor called THUM. Its cheap (~$120) with no monthly charges. It will send you an email if the temp or humidity levels exceed a threshold that you set. You can also set up a website that displays the readings.
