RE: NC Beach Rental With Room To Park Motor Home

If you don't need the RV for living quarters once you get there, most rental companies have empty lots where customers can leave boats etc.

Please do not sleep with the oven providing heat. You could wake up dead.

RE: 2005 Jayco 5th wheel battery connection

White is neg on both my Jayco and my Coachmen. I try to take pics on my phone when I know I won't revisit something anytime soon after I take it apart. My memory isn't what it used to be.

RE: Got stuck.....

When I hit it, it had rained a ton here at home but not where we were camping. Unaware, I pulled off the gravel portion of the storage lot onto the grassy part as I always do. I don't do it anymore without walking he grassy area. Down to the hubs with the trailer on the hitch. With manual hubs I never had a chance. Borrowed a truck the next day and used a BA rope to fashion a cradle so I could pull the TT backwards onto the firm with a sheet of plywood under the jack. Then hooked the borrowed truck to the TT to get it back into it's spot. The truck was not so easy, it took a better truck the next day to drag it backwards to the firm. At least it didn't cost me anything. I guess Flickr doesn't like me so clicky

RE: Got stuck.....

I can tell you from experience, don't take a diesel 4X4 onto questionable ground unless you have a buddy nearby to get you out. The weight of the engine takes you right down to the frost line.

RE: 900 miles of Cicadas 1.5 inch and noisey East Coast US

On the bright side, less leaves to rake this fall. My DW just loves trees.

RE: Looking for a RV park on 301

Never stayed, but a CG on the north side of the Potomac right at the bridge before you cross into Va. I think it's the Harry Nice bridge.

RE: Use of Orange/Yellow cones is a must!

Alworth, you are my newest hero. As to the OP, you are just asking for trouble in my opinion. Kind of like PO'ing the neigborhood kids.

RE: Same slide shear bolt broke again! Questions for you.

He just did. Depends on how you look at it. Twice in 6 years isn't a big deal. Carry a spare and roll on. What do you think he should do? :)

RE: North Carolina natives

Military brat, lived everywhere the commies threatened the US, but Mom's side of the family is deeply rooted in High Point. Lived in Wilkesboro as an adult in the 80s, and both kids and one DGD now in Raleigh/Durham. As soon as we can shake these working days I imagine we'll be headed down.

RE: Looking for a campground in Delware near by the ocean

Cape Henlopen does not have normal sites. View their gallery before reserving. You basically park in the road and face your site.

RE: Interesting travel day

Try a keypad one time when the battery goes dead. Have a spare key, don't tempt fate.
