RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}

I'm also a little concerned. 5 days without a Richard post is odd!

RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}

Just to clarify - your Foretravel did not depreciate that much - you are being offered wholesale trade value for your Foretravel, against a retail value for the Tiffin. That's how trades usually work for vehicles of any kind. That's why I was so surprised when your dealer initially offered you something different. That said, they should not have changed their offer... I'm so sorry you're going thru this! Are there cabins available you could rent for the rally?

RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}

I have been dealing with motorhomes all day and here is the deal. Tennessee RV has offered me a 2011 Phaeton 40QTH Tiffin motorhome with 40,000 miles, four slides, like new in place of the 2007 Foretravel. even swap with new tires on it. They just traded it in, hasn't even been on the lot yet. A free warranty for the life of the coach. What do you think? And if that is not what I want they will loan me a motorhome for now and on into the Rally at no cost. They are taking back the Foretravel and paying it off until I decide what I want to do. I'd grab that deal and never look back! Tiffin is a great coach - it's 4 years newer, with a warranty! Yup, that's what I'd do!!! I actually work in the industry (which I don't really publicize on this forum, lol), and the support you've gotten from Tennessee RV is incredible! I suspect they know how active you are on here!

RE: Open Range or Lance

We are in our 3rd season with our Open Range, and love it! We're seasonal campers due to work schedules, sleeping in it 4 nights/week for almost 7 months. We also travel when we can. Only problem has been the awning lights, which I dislike anyway! We love ours and would definitely buy another!

RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}

I'm so sorry Dan and Lori! Sarah was such an important part of the Old Fella family - she will be so missed!

RE: Hi Everyone - Newbie here....MORE questions :)

I don't have much to add, but I want to wish you luck! I hope it all goes well - my late DH passed away in 2009 from brain cancer. We were fortunate in that I was comfortable pulling our TT, so we traveled as long as we could. The memories were well worth the hard work, especially for our sons, who were teens at the time. God speed!

RE: Looking at this TT....think it's got delamination. HELP!

I suspect the front is a hung wall, not laminated. Lots of trailers are made that way, and they may get a little wavy over time. To your point - it was never glued in the first place.

RE: Efficient packing

Perhaps contributing to the problem isn't the camper/camping per se, but the fact that she has just lost the weekend to get her chores done? I'd get home from camping and have to cram in housecleaning and laundry that I'd typically do on Saturday and Sunday. I never found a good solution to that short of living in a not-so-clean house. We did end up going seasonal, which helped a lot!

RE: Any Open Range owners here????

We have a 2014 274RLS, and had no problem except for a blown fuse in our power tongue jack. So not all 274RLS's were bad... Open Range did not go bankrupt. They were bought out by Jayco, and are run by the original management team as a wholly owned subsidiary. They have always had a 2 year warranty.

RE: Best manufacturer warranties?

Whoever now owns Open Range isn't responsible. Last I heard it was Jayco and if I'm wrong and it's not them then I'll apologize in advance. When OR was sold we still had just over 12 months of warranty left but the new owners said they weren't honoring any warranty work. Jayco now owns Open Range, and they both have always included a 2 year warranty. My OR was purchased before the Jayco acquisition, and I had no problems having my warranty honored!

RE: Profiling your Salesman

Keeping the rigs locked isn't always to insure customers talk to salespeople. Some areas have trouble with people doing various acts inside the rigs when nobody is watching. You know it! I work for a large-ish dealership, and oh the stories I can tell!
