RE: Selling of MH (Decision-Decision)

I lost my DH to brain cancer 5 years ago, when we were 54. I kept our TT on a seasonal site for 2 years after, then sold it and regretted it every day since! My new DH loves to camp as much as I, and we bought a new TT to make new memories in! Good luck on your decision. I vote to keep your MH!

RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}

I've also been successful with squirt cheese when nothing else works! I started it several dogs ago...

RE: above ground holding tank

We have one at our seasonal - over the last 5 seasons we go 3-4 dumps per season. Never gone more than 4. We're there every weekend plus at least one full week. We do military showers and are careful, but not stingy!

RE: Too many miles?

Have your DW learn to drive your rig! She can split the driving with you, and if there is ever an emergency she will know how. We change drivers every 3 hours, which gives us the opportunity to cover many more miles in a day.

RE: Starting to shop for new TT

It's not just about the TT either. You would do good to check into how good the particular dealer is and how good the manufacturer is on dealing with issues. Ranges from exceptional to the other end of the spectrum. The only TTs I think you can say with confidence that have better quality are Outdoors RV and Nash (who own Outdoors RV) but you do have to pay more. I like the fact that our KZ has a 2 year warranty. Jayco is the only other one that does. I think the extra year is really worth considering. Open Range also comes with a 2 year warranty. And Forest River products sell a 2nd year for a very nominal cost, so be careful with broad-brushed statements.

RE: Commit to Purchase TT- What is expected?

I'm ok giving a deposit to hold a large purchase I haven't seen. In 2004 we were looking for a gently used Suburban for towing - we'd find them on line, race to get to that dealer that night only to find they had been sold during the day. After that happened twice, we opted to put a deposit on a credit card over the phone to hold the next one we found. Worked just fine, and we purchased that vehicle. Whether or not we want to believe it, we all need our dealers to be in a healthy financial position for several reasons. It is a poor business decision to hold something for someone who doesn't show up.

RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}

Hard to believe that there is no reaction from Hobo with Mama being gone. Perhaps Dogs know more than we think they do. Hobo may be thinking Mama is in a better place and is in no more pain. Time will tell. Good news on Suzie I definitely think there's something to this, especially if Hobo saw Mama go down. My late DH passed away from cancer at home, and our 2 dogs seemed to "get it". They were in the room with us, they did not seem confused nor did they look for him after he physically left the house.

RE: Seasonal for the first time...

We love the lifestyle! We leave our slides out, although we do "exercise" them a couple of times during the summer. Fridge on, electric and propane stay on. We turn the water off when we leave, and close our electric awning. When we had the manual awning we just tipped it way down, and never had a problem. Tanks were emptied when full, and we rarely had a smell issue. Also, we kept a vent open (with cover) when we were gone. Bottom line, we arrive on Friday night, unlock, open the awning and crack open an adult beverage. We keep clothes at the TT, along with most everything we need during the course of the weekend. Super easy and enjoyable! Enjoy!

RE: Baby Girl won't take her medicine. HELP!!!!

I have found that the cheap squirt cheese in the can works great for fussy dogs. I just squirt a quarter sized mound into the palm of my hand and insert the pills... Has worked for several dogs...

RE: How about "Open Range TT"

Well I found the source for the Jayco buyout of OR discussion: http://www.rvbusiness.com/2014/02/jayco-to-acquire-towable-maker-open-range-rv/ We love our OR!

RE: Picked up the new trailer - so excited!

Congrats on a great rig! We bought our OR TT last fall, but haven't had the opportunity to camp in it till later this spring :(. We love it though!

RE: 2006 keystone zepplin coach

No, it was not designed as a 4 season. And take the leak problems very seriously - it was a very serious problem for the Zeppelin, which is why Keystone didn't make them long!

RE: Canopies?

We also have the Gander Mountain version, which replaced an old EZ Up. Really like it, although I didn't have any complaints about the EZ Up either.

RE: Monaco towables shut down

Always sad to see this happen. We loved our 2004 TrailLite, as do the folks we sold it to that continue to use it problem free!
