RE: Electric Tounge Jack Question

Ok here is food for thought for you. I had my trailer in because my water pump wouldnt shut off. Long story short they told me it was fine when i picked it up. So I took the service centers word for it and put it into storage. When I went to pick it up the other day I see they left the pump and the battery shut off on. And the pump did start running and ran until it killed both batteries. The power jack was not going to move at this point and I had no clue how to manually do it. So since I was in the storage yard I had no way to charge the batteries. As luck would have it I plugged it into the truck to see if it would draw from it and it did.
So my point is I would wire it so that IF you have the same problem I did you wont be stuck.

RE: Keystone Bullet Premier

Got my recall done. My dealer said that keystone sent 12 roof rivets to go inbetween the front cap screws. So they put them in and resealed it. Only took the afternoon. Hopefully I dont have any issues...
Anyone else get a recall notice on the front cap? I have a 2012 Bullet Premier 29RLPR and the notice came from keystone last week that some 2011 and 2012 premiers may not have enough fasteners on the cap and it could cause a water leak... I sure hope not. The last thing I want is anyone messing with the roof seam and seals... But what choice do I have.
Hi carjocky, we have the same make and model as you do and have not received a recall notice as of yet. What date did that notice arrive?
No notice here either. I have a 2011.
I just got my notice for roof repair, 2012 29RTPR

RE: Keystone Bullet Premier

Just take your time and go as slow as you need to to get comfortable with it. We run into problems when we are worring about everyone else around us making rush or feeling we are in the way. Just do your thing and you will be fine.

RE: Keystone Bullet Premier

Picked up my new Bullet Premier 29RTPR Monday at the dealer in Michigan and just arrived home with it today (1,900 mi round trip) Had the dealer install an Andersen WD hitch. It handled really nice. Average speed between 60-65, head winds, crosswinds and tractor trailers had no effect. Had great weather for this time of year and did a Wal-Mart camping in Erie PA. Now it is resigned to my driveway until next spring but at least I finally have it!

Looks great. We have the same trailer. I see you have slide out awnings. Did you have them install them also or were they already installed?

RE: Keystone Bullet Premier

nothing major, but a few nice upgrades:
New exterior graphics"Slam shut" front cargo doorsNew color: Dune (dk, brown cushions, but curtains/bedspread & wallpaper same as godiva)Extra cushioning on dinette backs?New faucet (includes a pull-out spray?)Cupboard & drawer pulls (knobs, not handles) purely a taste issue, but I do like the knobs betterDifferent fridge (handle location is different)Cabinet stain looks a little darker
Sue
Hmmmmmmmmmm. I wonder what it would take to upgrade to the slam shut doors.... I wish mine had those. We normally leave the keys in the locks when we are at the camper so when we close them we also lock them to get a tight seal.

RE: Storing car for winter

I would put it on a timer and a trickle charger. Dont forget stabil for the fuel. That is more important then the battery.

RE: Replacing Window/Frame in Entry Door

No it is designed to not leak. You will see when you remove frame. Just get the size of the glass and go to lowes or home depot and they can cut you privacy glass on the spot.

RE: Replacing Window/Frame in Entry Door

Very simple. I had this happen to me last year. Your local TT center should have replacement glass for you on hand. It is cheap like $20 or so. All you have to do is take the screws out from the inside of the window frame and take the frame off. Put the glass in place and put screws back in. Very simple. Not tape, puddy or the like needed.

RE: thinking about selling out

How old are your kids?
Time flies so fast they will be graduated and out of the house or on their own before you know it. Then you can really do some camping.
I say hold on to everything if you can.
I agree. If your RV/TT is worth keeping you should hold on to it. Kids grow up fast.

RE: Legnth of payment terms on new TT

We refi'ed the house last week and my credit was 815 and wives was 820 and we only got the best rate they offered because we were both over 800. So 740 isn't gonna get you the best rate
Sorry but I beg to differ. I do loans on a daily basis... I can get anyone with good debt to income and then income to match the loan a 2.49% on a late model used car with a 740 score. They just told you that to make you feel good. Keep in mind people get paid based on the rate get. It is called holdback. If you buy a car let's say at 5.99% and the bank gives you a buy rate of 3.99% the dealer makes 2% on the financed amount.

RE: Legnth of payment terms on new TT

I wonder if the banks have eased up on loans on RV's these days? One of the guys I worked with last year was turned down at a couple of banks and his credit rating was over 740 he said. He was border line on how much he made compared to how much he owed. He finally got a loan but the interest rate was very high.
Yes. 740 is pretty low for a credit rating, and that does make it hard to get a loan, On anything.
740 is not a low credit rating. 740 will get you the best rate available on any loan you want as long with any credit score your debt to income is in line.

RE: RV Security System - TT parked at Storage Place

Grease the top of the ladder, seeing how he got on the roof to break in through the sky light. Crowbar would of saved him a lot of time.
It is so easy to break in that it is sick. Just break the door glass and reach it and open... 15 sec.
On a side note. I put a sign on the camper when it is in storage that says "All electronics and valuables have been removed while in storage". You never know... If there is 30 TT in your storage facility and they see that sign they may just move to another instead of taking the time to mess with yours.

RE: RV Security System - TT parked at Storage Place

I had this happen last winter to me. I thought long and hard about what I could do to keep it safe. Especially since I just purchased a new TT this year. I moved it to where I felt they had better security for the (usable months) and for the winter I am keeping inside. Theives are going to take the easy route. Outside, winter when no one around etc. So instead of $50 a month for the winter I pay $88 for inside and heated. So for 5 months a extra $190. Much better then any security system that wont do any good imo.

RE: WD hitches Equalizer Vs. Blue Ox

X3 on the Blue Ox. Very clean, quiet and effective. We too have the new sway pro.
X4. Much easy to hook up then most. I highly recommend it. There are plenty of youtube videos on them.

RE: Thermostat???

Had the same issue. It was set on automatic. So when the heat kicked on the fan did also. I thought at first the a/c was coming on along with the heat. It was just the fan. Just make sure the fan is in the off mode not auto and just the heat will kick on. But having the fan on with the heat will help the heat move about.

RE: What do you do? Winter storing tips.

Heck we can't keep these RV's from leaking from just the rain falling down on them! :B:B
That is why I am insisting on keeping mine inside. I know the major wear and tear on the old TT was due to the winter weather and everything that goes with it...
