RE: Former Chevy Owner...Just Swapped to F150

Congrats, we had had two previous GM products with the 5.3 L as well. So glad to be rid of those vehicles. Sounds like you got a great tow vehicle. Any photos?

RE: 3/4 ton - I did it with an LBZ

Congrats on scoring a low mileage one! Hope you get many more miles and years of service out of her.

RE: Finally..the CEL is gone...See How I Did It

Just like he will never own another Ford, I won't own a GM. If Ford ever does it to me, I will move back to Ram. We have the power to do so as consumers. LOL Now you done it Derick. How dare you have a Opinion :B Hey, I won't knock Ricatics new truck, bet it does just fine for him. Just my experience with my wife's Tahoe left a bad taste in my mouth....same flavor as what Ford fed to Ricatic. LOL You know what they say about opinions though.............LOL:)

RE: Finally..the CEL is gone...See How I Did It

catfishmontana, But some don't jam that lemon down your throat! Ricatic's throat is probably still sore today from his horrible Ford tabacle. I agree, I would be sick of Ford too. We had a similar issue with our 2010 Tahoe. I feel for Ricatic. Just like he will never own another Ford, I won't own a GM. If Ford ever does it to me, I will move back to Ram. We have the power to do so as consumers.

RE: Finally..the CEL is gone...See How I Did It

Hopefully it all works out for you Ricatic. Your Ford even made me mad. LOL hopefully your GM treats you better than our last one. They all build a lemon every now and then....

RE: identifying a tuned used diesel TV

One decent giveaway is to look for signs of a boost gauge or pyro was installed. I would look under the hood at the turbo piping and the exhaust manifold for plugs or newly replaced parts. Aftermarket exhaust is almost a dead giveaway. This is what I found on mine when purchasing it. Well, fist I noticed there were 2 screw holes in the A piller on the drivers side where some sort of gauge was likely installed. After looking a little more there was a plug in the passenger side manifold where a thermocouple was likely installed. This! All the 5.9 Rams i purchased new, I traded in with a plug in the manifold where I removed my thermocouple for my pyrometer. I can't imagine someone tuning a diesel and not monitoring the exhaust gas temperatures.

RE: a gentle reminder....

I have been around diesels for a long time, and K&N filters were always taboo. If they work for you OP, then more power to you.

RE: Question for Diesel Owners

Thankfully in my small town we can get #1 in the winter right next to good ol' #2. I buy #2 year round and add anti-gel to it. Better mileage , more power, and the mileage savings pays for the treatment. Added lube as a side bonus.

RE: GMC Towhooks

Well we have reached the end of things to debate......... I guess we could talk about windshield wiper blades. HaHa! There you go!

It draws the viewers eyes away from those hideous low slung frame rails.

RE: Picked up a '12 Ram 2500

Regular cabs sure make for a great looking truck. Pretty rare to see one much anymore. Congrats!

RE: Overheating

On my Ram's, I always took a large piece of window screen and zip tied it between the outermost cooler and the grill. Not visible from outside the truck, yet it caught all the bugs. Then I could just remove it and either clean it or toss it and throw on another piece. I used the black plastic screen.

RE: Picked up my new truck yesterday

Congrats, that's a good looking truck. My wife's Raptor has the 6.2 in it, great sounding motor!

RE: mud/rock guard

I will second the rock tamer type of receiver mounted flaps. I built my own as I too could not justify the price, but they work great and when not towing you can just toss them in the garage.

I would have waited. Congrats on the new truck.

RE: 2013 Rams HD have hit the lot.

This seems like it would be a loss of money so I see it as not a good thing for any brand to have that problem. chevman A loss of money? Its better to fix now before it ships then after. It could be as little as a ding or paint chip. They dont say now do they. Thats sorta what I was thinking. It could be anything. A defect in a body panel stamping die, a weatherstripping defect that lets a drop of water in around a window, could be anything. Glad they caught it and are fixing them.

RE: Behind closed doors at Bosch, RE CP4

What a bunch of uptight old farts. The video is harmless and actually pretty funny. There is also one about snowmobiles that's hilarious.

RE: Tips on reusing transmission fluid??

Never thought about that, but for me, nope Not worth messing or potentially introducing a failure point into the most expensive and complex assembly on any of today's TVs Transmission is about half the cost of a failed injector pump, and I don't filter my fuel coming out of the dirty nozzle at the pump. Sure there is a filter in the pump, but how much other******has blown in the nozzle. I try not to over think things. I still see no issue with reusing the fluid if the op is clean about it.

RE: Tips on reusing transmission fluid??

If you are strapped for cash, I see no issues with reusing the fluid if you are clean about it.
