RE: Golf cart fell off the ramps while loading

Don't forget Harbor Freight for a winch, that is where I bought mine so I can load my Jet Ski into the back of my TH.

RE: Surviving the cold without heat and without winterizing

You should also pour anti-freeze down your drains to protect your P-traps, I would not trust the forecast here, it could get colder and taking shortcuts is not the best option. It could cost you big and a lot more of your time fixing than it would to winterize. Lived here to long to know how wrong the forecast can be.

RE: Andersen No-Sway Hitch ride comfort question

You can also look up air ride seats, I was looking into them because my wife too has some internal issues when it comes to jarring action. Cant remember the name of the company but type in air ride seats into google and that should turn up some results. Good Luck! Aint nothing worse than Hotels/motels!

RE: Frozen holding tanks

When I know I am going to end up in freezing conditions, I am sure to empty out my grey tank and pour 1 gallon of the pink stuff into the black and it doesn't freeze up at all and my tanks are exposed underneath. I just keep an extra gallon in the TH.

RE: Foul smell from batteries??

Definitely check the levels, if low add distilled water. Also if you can check the sides of the battery for swelling, usually caused by overcharging. Other things to check for is that you batteries are properly vented.

RE: Onan 4000 Generator

x2 on what dalehelman said, I work on helicopters for a living and play hide and seek with dropped items all the time and that is how we deal with stuff like that.

New Trucker website

Colorado has a new truckers website for updated weather and chainlaws. Might be helpful when crossing the Rockies. www.trucki70.com

RE: Will this work?

I don't think the axles have anything to do with it, which is normal you know what that comes out of the dealers mouth. Proper loading and tongue weight are your primary means of sway control. That deal you found on CL sounds to be good. Overall condition and how much they used the hitch would be the big questions. Not sure about a date on the hitch. But that is a good hitch.

RE: Coleman 3 burner &rvq

Added a QD for my RVQ, and just tapped into the black iron portion with a "T" and then got a QD from CW and let me tell you they are proud of them. I think I paid like 35 bucks but it is a safety valve and was a fairly easy install.

RE: Help - furnace and ac stopped working!

I know when I turn my thermostat on manually I hear a click from up in the ac unit. Could the problem be up in the ac board. So why no furnace also? I doubt the AC and furnace both decided to fail on the same day. Well there must be a signal that passes through that particular component that would be cause for both to not work.

RE: Locked power box at campground

Seen the same thing at one of the overnights I made in New Mexico at a Casino campground, but that guy got his when he left and forgot to put up a rear stabilizer and drug it all the way out of the parking lot and ripped it completely off. Figured it was gonna cost him more to fix the stabilizer than the 20 bucks he tried saving. Karma! I think that the campground is doing the right thing, but I feel that they might be infringing on a safety item. I understand having to unlock after you pay but not while you are hooked up. If something were to go wrong and you had to unplug in a hurry because something malfunctioned it could cause damage to your unit. So as long as you paid they could take the lock and lock it to the pedestal not locking the cover and after you leave they could come and relock it until the next person pays.

RE: Tires made it!!

My tires have approximately 7500 miles and they are the factory china bombs, you take care of them they will take care of you. Just getting ready to start replacing and will not be spending a fortune. Also if you are having wear on one tire that is not the tire, it is more than likely an axle alignment issue. 90% of tire failure is from over or under-inflation.

RE: Corrugated or smooth siding. Personal choice?

Our TH has corrugated sides and a smooth fiberglass ramp door, TH is 4 years old and ramp has some delamination spots on it and the sides are still fine. We use and RV wash and wax solution and the corrugated looks like it did when we bought it.

RE: Out Of State Purchase, Windish RV, Voltage 3950 Epic II

Find another place to get your RV serviced then. For all it matters you just moved to Washington and need to find new place to get your RV serviced. We purchased ours in Arizona and we live in Colorado. Ours only had to go in once and it was for a Genny repair, and it wasnt an RV dealer we took it to either. By going out of state we saved 10K and it was worth every penny. Fortunately we havent had our TH in for anything in 4 years, so dont let dealer threats deter you from finding a deal. Besides the guy selling isnt the guy fixing it anyway. Good Luck!

RE: Delivery driver tip ?

I guess the way to look at it is how much did it cost for the delivery and whether or not the driver is working for someone or himself. The other question would be did he clean it up after the long road trip or is it loaded with road grime. I might have some ready and go with how it all turns out.
