RE: Sidewinder 5th Airborne

I did like the Super Glide but I understand you have to be more in a straight line to hook up andI would have to purchase a Airborne kingpin also to help with the chucking. No...You would not need to buy a Airborne Kingpin to help with the chucking. My 7 year old Superglide holds the kingpin so well it does not allow any chucking. If you do decide to buy the SuperGlide, I recommend you do NOT buy the Airborne pinbox, until you pull a few times. Then see if you still need to buy the Airborne pinbox. Most likely you'll not need it. Yeah that`s what I was thinking. If it tows good.... end of story.

RE: Sidewinder 5th Airborne

So if it raises the front 4 inches you have to have a real low hitch or

RE: Sidewinder 5th Airborne

I dont think the Superglide requires a straight line hookup but the TV must be within about 15ยบ to the 5th wheel. Most of the better hitches have the side/side pivot and are vertically adjustable. Im sure I would not mix a Superglide with a Sidewinder. Hitch links: http://gotnarcosis.com/brucewittmeier/technical/FifthWheelHitchComments.html Would not use the sidewinder but the Airborne Kingpin box with the Superglide.

RE: Sidewinder 5th Airborne

just talked to Pullrite....have to use capture plate. Guess I could get Pullrite and add airborne kingpin down the road. Do you have to be in a straight line when hooking up or unhooking?

Sidewinder 5th Airborne

I'm looking at purchasing a 5th wheel toy hauler and this Sidwinder Kingpin seems to me like the way to go with my short box. I like the side winder airborne for these reasons....1. built in shock/airbag 2. ease of hooking up and disconnecting. 3. my hitch will be able to hook up to other trailers if for some reason I have to( No catch plate). My question is what hitch to I get with this Sidewinder....dual pivoting, are they all adjustable for height height. I did like the Super Glide but I understand you have to be more in a straight line to hook up and I would have to purchase a Airborne kingpin also to help with the chucking. Thanks

RE: 2005 Fleetwod 335FS, good the bad ?

Yes way to much, I told him I was passing on it. He told me the rear ramp is actually soft and needs rebuilding. Canada here so everything is more than the USA, but since I live right on the border I usually just search in the USA. Maybe 12-13000 but not $17000

RE: Canadians buying from the USA

Ask the dealer, each state is different. Usually temp plate cost $10

2005 Fleetwod 335FS, good the bad ?

Ok I'm all over the place trying to find a decent used Toy hauler to fit our needs. Latest one is the Fleetwood 335FS. I have read about the delam issues and I have not gone to look at the particular trailer yet(6 hours away)but the owner is saying the only delam is onthe rear ramp door. I would assume by now it would of started to delaminate in other spots. $16,500 OBO has Fuel, pull down Queen in back as well as add a room on back ramp. has viewing platform on top but to me thats goofy. Is this unit a wide body? Thanks and I appreciatte everyones opinion so far on weeding out the different trailers Raptor 3018TT was our last one we looked at. to cramped up front for us and not enoogh inline cargo space. Would love to find a Raptor 3319FW at a reasonable price

RE: tying down your toy

I tie to the rear bumper and front cross bars that have holes in them on the top. I disagree with poster saying not to compress suspension. Thats how the car haulers do it and I compress my suspension allot so there is no bounce at all, it becomes one with the trailer. Also use the wood emergency brake trick for RZR, holding the brake pedal down so all brakes are locked up and holding.

RE: Raptor 3018 Quality? Are they higher end?

Thanks for the info, were going to look at one tomorrow, this one is a 2006 Raptor with Generator. Has original tires so thinking even though they they show good tread wise its going to need new tires. Guy said it had a small leak up front where front cap meets roof. recaulked by Rv Repiar shop, no leaks anymore. From my experience sooner or later all trailers leak, just hope its found before to much damge is done. I bought a brand new KZ Sportster 26P and it leaked from day one. Original owner also, so thats good I hope. Any other info would greatly be aprreciated. Pics etc

RE: Raptor 3018 Quality? Are they higher end?

Thanks Raptor. F250 good for 14000lb towing. So MadMav go back to school. But thanks for joining the thread.

RE: Raptor 3018 Quality? Are they higher end?

Not going to get into the weight issue, F250 is the same as F350 minus the badge and a spacer on rear springs. Over priced.... Looks that way

RE: Raptor 3018 Quality? Are they higher end?

chipster how in the world did you find that? I went to Keystone RV, 2005 and saw 3 units listed but not the 3018. On Edit I didn't scroll down far enough to see they broke the 5er and TT's out separately. :S LOL. I actually just googled 2005 Raptor 3018 specs and there it was. Took me awhile the first time as well. Had to word the search just right.

RE: Raptor 3018 Quality? Are they higher end?

Thanks but want the open space, do not want a garage model which is what the 3110 are. The Raptor 3319FW is nice also, need something with 16' or more inline toy space.

RE: Raptor 3018 Quality? Are they higher end?

No problem with opinions, thats why I posted. My thoughts are also that its to high a price. Needs 4 tires out of the 6, two were replaced last year. Thats $500-$600 right there alone.

Raptor 3018 Quality? Are they higher end?

Are the Raptors considered higher end units. Looking at a used one but they are asking almost $18000 for it. 2005 Model. Any thoughts
