RE: Creede, CO

You could add a few miles to your trip and come in to Lake City on 149 from the north by way of Gunnison...there are SEVERAL nice cg's right in or near Lake City, however, I'm not sure of wi-fi availability.....my 2 cents

RE: Camping locally on weekends & late checkouts

I like to get all chores out of the way first, so usually vacate the site on time and just park in a day use or other parking area for the few hours of extra play. X2

RE: Pawnee State Park, Lincoln Neb.

Been there MANY times while visiting Lincoln......nice campground, paved lanes and sites, electric hookups, water randomly located throughout park, shower house, some hc accessible sites, fishing in lake, quiet but a distance from I80 if you are travelling through state (Approx 12 miles from downtown Lincoln)...find info at ngpc.com, Nebraska Game and Parks Corp....PM me if more info would help

RE: Looking for special CG's in Colorado 8wk vacation

To me that driving is fun with a view, just drive at a low speed and be carefull for Im in a pickup pulling our 38' 5th wheel. When in Colorado in 2010 I traveled rt50 over monarch pass to Gunnison onto rt92 which Had turns of 10mph speeds,a U turn on a hillside..It went through a NP..What Im looking for is that Campground w/hookups that you got to go to..But please advise me about the roads too.. Thanks Again I would advise you follow the preceding post recommending taking 550 without the camper FIRST....having travelled both Monarch and Red Mountain passes MANY times it is my opinion you would be making an erroneous assumption that 50 and 550 are comparable.....for what it's worth...it's your decision

RE: Looking for special CG's in Colorado 8wk vacation

Based on your itinerary, I would make these recommendations: IF you have LITTLE mountain driving experience I would recommend you NOT take 550 over Red mountain pass to Ouray (very tight turns and no rails). A nice cg in the Ouray area is Ridgway SP. Your advance toward Leadville should include a stay at Lakeview cg at Taylor Park above Gunnison(some of the best Colorado views are there). This info is IMHO, of course

RE: Campground in Lake City, Co

We stayed in a KOA just a block or two off I-80 and a half dozen blocks West of the Morman Temple.Large park, lots of trees most if not all pull throughs, a little tight on parking spots but not bad. It worked for us. Apparently WRONG Lake City....no interstate within 100 miles of Lake City COLORADO......cg's mentioned are good BUT usually booked full....Also would recommend Mountain View in Creede CO.....IMHO, of course

RE: MUELLER STATE PARK, CO

You MAY have problems getting site if you're not 6 months out from your vac time......fills up on weekends......GREAT cg.......no FHU.....pay showers......MANY trails (with dog ban).......ranger-conducted programs........would HIGHLY RECOMMEND reservations....some sites are tight with trees......been there 3 times...........IMHO, of course

RE: Ouray - Ridgway In Mid - Late Sept

Geez, never done Owl Creek or Last Dollar and put that in my notes. That is the kinda thing we love to do. OK, we have the Chebby 3500 long bed SRW - can it make it on Owl Creek and Last Dollar? From what I have seen so far should not be an issue but thought I would ask here. The last line in joe b's signature kinda describes Barbara and I - and Sadie of course. Our friends really wonder about some of the places we go and Barbara often hears me tell her, "Another fine mess you got us in to!" Great info here and thanks to everyone. We went from 4 days here to 6 days and decided on the KOA; talked to them today and got locked into a site. Thanks again. God bless. both are easily doable....much more challenging 4wd roads are also available...IMHO, of course

RE: Ouray - Ridgway In Mid - Late Sept

If your photo sessions are to include the "colors" of Colorado don't omit Owl Creek and Last Dollar....colors there last Sept were GREAT....IMHO, of course

RE: Storage Barn

I would build out , in the center a 14 ft door that sits outboard of the shorter door so the large door slides left over the shorter door and make the taller door opening larger in width also. Or install a hinged door flush with the wall in the center which the smaller door can slide over Right idea ... you have an eaves problem with roof pitch if you stay on the outside edges of the building.....IMHO, of course

RE: Optical illusion or what?

Being somewhat of a cabinet builder myself, you may also notice the differences between the end cabinet in which the end sink is shown. One shows a full length door while the other with the sink shows a solid panel with some type of white panes and a cabinet drawer/door combination to the aisle side.....sorry, IMHO, those are NOT the same units...

RE: Pro-Fill RV Battery watering Kit

Had it...got rid of it......worked great AS LONG AS THE TEMPS ARE ABOVE FREEZING....DOESN'T FUNCTION WELL WHEN ICE IS IN THE LINES....IMHO, of course

RE: marroon bells co

Check out Redstone. It is a national forest campground with water and elec. sites. A very nice campground with big sites and only a mile from the town of Redstone which is neat. Redstone would be around 50 miles from Maroon Bells. An added bonus would be a visit to Marble Co. only about 15 miles away from Redstone. X2

RE: What's the problem with satellite TV service?

SpinRite, It is to my understanding that they (both Direct and Dish) are owned by the same company anyway. WRONG!!!!! They are NOT owned by the same company, however, they do share certain sats.....In my experience with DISH for several years now, I have been able to remove receiver from S&B to RV for trips and use a portable DISH antenna with no problem (local channels for current location from crankup overair antenna)...son has worked for DISH several years and states to me that as long as I pay my monthly bill NOONE at DISH cares where I'm sitting....IMHO, of course

RE: Good Sam Road SIde Service

:h What's wrong with this picture? First, a Class A owner posting in Class B forum. People read and post in different forums all day long. Not a big deal. IF this were a class B forum it wouldn't popup on my Class A Forum column......??????????????????????
