RE: Rock my RV tv show.

RV Today was the last real RV show on tv. To bad its gone. Hi we started rving in 2007 and stumbled upon this show one night. We loved it and watched it all the time...even the repeats. I woud love to see a nice calm quiet show about real rvs and rv parks again. Also I loved the 2 cooking ladies. we watched Rock the rv and I hated it. I hate all that loud sreechy awful "music" in the background and the camera flashing all over the place. So many shows have this now...screechy horrible so called music almost to the point of not being able to hear the people talking and that constant flashing camera jumping all over the place.

RE: Contemplating the change

For a bit of fun I recommend the Sue Henry mystery series featuring Maxine McNab who travels around in her Winnebago with her dog Stretch. Of course at each location there is a mystery to solve but reading about her solo adventures is entertaining. Marianne

RE: NE adult only campgrounds?

Hi..... We love Lake Forest in East Wakefield NH. It is low key, on a Class A lake -Great East Lake It has large wooded campsite. There is a dock to sit on on the lake. If you golf there is a small golf .course. There are weekly events like pot luck suppers and other such things. Many people have canoes and sailboats at the water front. If you like bike riding there is a wonderful bike trail about 10 miles away. You can start at Fernald Station and bike into Wolfboro....Lake Winnapasaukee. It is our favorite place to go for a weekend. We also like Wild Duck in Scarborough ME. There is also a bike trail near there that you can ride into Old Orchard Beach. We have also been to Beacon Hill in PA. It is nice. and we stayed at the Lake Champlain adult campground. Nice place. We have stayed at Danforth Bay but not in the adults section The Bluffs. You have to stay a minimum of a week there. We did tour The Bluffs and it is very nice. Great pool. I teach third grade and as much as I love my students....all 29 of them...it is nice to be able to get away to a quiet place. Marianne

Boston to Outer Banks

Hello, We are heading to the Outer Banks on Friday . In the past when going to Virginia Beach we have always gone to the KOA Newburgh Ny and then down the Jersey turnpike. We are trying to figure out if we can end up more south than Newburgh NY as that takes us more north than we like. Is it possible to avoid the George Washington Bridge without going north to cross the river? We have yet to be able to figure an alternative route while towing our trailer. We are looking at trying to get to Croton on the Hudson for the first night instead of going to Newburgh. We know we cant go on anything that says Parkway in NY. We learned this the hard way after we got onto the Taconic without realizing that we were not supposed to be there....despite the huge sign that we both missed seeing. We were pulled over by the police. Thanks for any input, Marianne Johnson Lynn,MA

RE: Seasonal Site

The DW has requested that we get a seasonal site this year. The reason is that we are the newly minted grandparents of a currently 4 month old grandson. My wife does not want to miss one burb or hiccup, so we are going to stay local to ensure our fair share of fun time with the DGS. That said, we have secured a seasonal site in the Poconos, Pa. Any tips or issues to be aware of when seasonal site camping? I've been camping since 1987, so the basics are covered. Thanks in advance ... Hi, We are in the same situation. We are having our first grandchild in the middle of July. I teach school and have the summers off . In 2007 we bought a 21ft travel trailer to go across the country in. Since then we have traveled out west 4 times and down the eastern seaboard 2 times. This year we want to go away for a while but only locally. Maybe to PEI in Canada. We are also thinking of staying a week or so at one of our two favorite campgrounds. We have never stayed a week in one place so I am worried that I would be bored after a while. We are thinking that someday we might like to rent a seasonal site in the winter in Florida. I just worry that being in one place all the time will be boring as we are used to being on the go all summer.

RE: Rv storage in Florida

Thank you all so much for all this information. We have been to Florida on non rv trips and we have driven from MA with our travel trailer down the east coast to Florida in the summer of 2008 and the summer of 2011. We are avid snorkelers and want to be on the Keys if possible. We have not explored the panhandle or the Naples area at all. Thanks again for all the info. I appreciate it. Marianne

Rv storage in Florida

Hello, We are not snowbirds as I still work but my husband is retired. Today he brought up the idea of taking our rv to Florida now, finding storage and then if we fly down have it taken out of storage and set up on a site in a campground. Has anyone done this or know someone who has done this? I teach school so we would go down at Christmas, a week in February and then a week in April. We are in the pre pre palnning stages of this new idea and any advice is welcomed. Thank you, Marianne

RE: Store bought boiled eggs - Really pretty good

Hi Trader Joes has then by the bag. I think there are about 6-8 eggs in the bag. They are fine to me. If there is a Traders Joes nearby look in the egg section. They are usually on the top shelf.
