RE: Flojet Macerator electrical problem

Okay folks, I or should I say, my good neighbor found out the problem. It was a blown fuse at the isolator. I had blown the fuse when I touched together the two wires. I didn't even know there was a fuse by the isolator. I had known about the fuse in the handle, but, didn't know there was one at the engine. I should mention this macerator is permantly mounted and was installed by the previous owner. I'm relieved it was a simple blown fuse. Another macerator lesson learned. Thanks again for all the suggestions.

RE: Flojet Macerator electrical problem

I'm going to replace the fuse (visually it looks fine) and having power is the problem I seem to be having. The pump worked before so nothing has changed from a power hook up. The pump is permantly connected to my house batteries. If I get this fixed I'll post my results. Thanks for the tips.

Flojet Macerator electrical problem

I have a Flojet portable macerator pump and was dumping my tanks for the first time this year (dewinterizing). The pump stopped working and would not restart after I had emptied my black tank. I later found out that the 2 way flat connector had come loose. This was a replacement connector that had been repaired by a RV dealer. The butt connector had worked its way loose. If I held the wires close, the pump would work.
Easy fix I thought. Cut off the connector, replace it and it should work. For some reason, I can't get it to work. It seems like I have no power. I thought maybe the replacement connector was defective, so I have bought another and will replace it, but, before I connect it with the butt connectors, I want to make sure the pump works. Touching the wires together does not start the pump. It seems like I don't have any power. I checked the fuse and it seems fine. Since the pump was working with the old 2 way connector and all I'm doing is replacing the loose piece I can't figure out why this isn't working. Any suggestions? Thanks.

RE: Fantastic fan not working

I have a different type of Fantastic fan than you, but, is it possible your temperature dial is set too low? Maybe that's why it doesn't run.

RE: Cold (limber) tail

Our golden retriever got it when we went up to Alaska. Typical reasons, cramped quarters, lots of exercise, swimming in cold water contributed to it. We thought her tail was broken, but, a great vet in Whitehorse diagnosed the problem. Pain medication and rest cured it. We had never heard of the problem before, even the vet had to look it up. Glad to hear your dog has recovered.

RE: Washing your B.

I take mine to a self serve car wash and do it myself. I spray the wax on a couple of times a year and that's that. I've never done the roof.

RE: Re: Chassis Battery Problem

I heard a clicking sound on m RT a couple of years ago and found out it was the rear cargo power door lock going on and off. This drained my battery. I had to replace the door actuator and that fixed the problem.

RE: Roadtrek CS?

I have a Roadtrek, and I think the company is diluting it's brand. Seems to me they have way too many models. They are going for the sizzle instead of the steak. My humble opinion.

RE: Hitch House RV Dealer, Barrie, ON 'FIRE'

I saw the tv coverage and a firefighter said the fire broke out in one of the motorhomes located in the showroom. I hope they disclose how the fire started so that this can be avoided in the future.

RE: Temporary or permanent bathroom in a RT 190?

Aisle shower, here too. I travel with my wife, so privacy is not an issue. Way more space which in a RT is always a bonus. When I saw RT introduce the enclosed bathroom, we both thought "sounds good, but, not pratical". By the way, the "bathroom" sink insert is another "good" idea that is not practical. We never used ours.

RE: Now That Winter is Here......

For me, winter goes by too fast. I curl 4-5 times a week, and when the conditions are good I love going ice fishing. One more month to get the winter tires on.

RE: the difference between Canadian and US customer Service

Here's my 2 cents. In our experiences the service industry in the USA is way better than in Canada. People are friendlier and more customer focused than most Canadian businesses. I'm speaking of primarily hospitality and retail businesses. It's really noticeable when you buy gas, most of the attendants are very friendly and thank you for your business.

Wag Bags for Roadtrek toilets to use in winter

I plan on winterizing the Roadtrek in a few days and thought I might purchase some Wag Bags for possible winter use should we need to. My first question for those who have used them, are they practical to use? My toilet will have some antifreeze in the bottom and I was wondering if a big mess occurs when placing the first bag into the second bag (dripping antifreeze)?
Also, does anyone have experiece with the Reliance brand double dooty waste bags? Which brand is better?
Thanks.

RE: Dometic fridge 3 way

I had to replace the selector knob on my dometic fridge a couple of years ago. Are you sure the shaft needs to be replaced or could it be just the knob itself? The knob hole in mine had worn out so the knob didn't "catch" the shaft to enable it to turn. By the way, the knob for me cost about $27 Canadian. The trick to replacing it is that you have to push the knob in hard to spread the fittings so that the knob is firmly in place. Good luck.

RE: Class B for everyday use?

I've used my Roadtrek as a second vehicle for over 6 years now. It handles poorly in the snow, but, winter tires help.

RE: RT 170 Versatile versus RT 190 Popular?

I would get the 190 if for no other reason than you have more water and capacity for boondocking. We can go 2 days comfortably with our 190P and one of the reasons we wanted a 190 was for the extra water and waste tank capability. Parking is a pain sometimes since the Chevy turning radius is terrible, but, you can usually find suitable parking alternatives. We use our 190 as a 2nd vehicle as well.

RE: Macerator only turns for a second

When you say the fuse is good are you talking about the one in the control handle? I've blown a few fuses, and it sounds like your fuse blew in the handle (Flojet).

RE: AC Advice

Well I learned something today. I had the vents pointing directly forward, but, now I'm going to try directing them upwards a bit. I am going to keep the fan going all the time. We do it at home, but, we never thought of doing it in the Roadtrek. Thanks for the tip ME&Ma

RE: Advice for a dog who is chewing things when left unattended?

I don't think the dog needs company, it needs two good walks daily.
