RE: Fishing Bridge in Yellowstone

You can definitely get some cold temps in June. We were there last year mid-June and woke up to some snow on the ground! It warmed up nicely every day. Leave for the day wearing layers!
FB is a great location in the park, IMO. We were there 8 days using FB as our basecamp from which we drove out and back every day. We had all the food and supplies we needed to make it a week in the park eating primarlily out of RV and picnic lunches. We did eat at a couple places in the park and were NOT happy with many. There was only one place in Canyon, a burger counter that was any good, everything else was overpriced and of poor quality.
The mosquitos at night in FB were pretty rough, bring lots of spray!

RE: Must See Suggestions: St. Louis, MO to Sioux Falls, SD

Just across the river from the Arch is the Cahokia Mounds State Historic site. My family and I visited there last June after visiting the Arch. We didn't leave near enough time to take it all in but the museum was impressive and well put together!
I highly recommend this stop if you are at all into Native American culture, events, artifacts and history. The artifact exhibits here are top notch! The Cahokia civilization was one of the largest and most impressive in North America.
Check it out!

RE: Yellowstone/Grand Teton Area Recommendation

Stayed at Colter Bay last June in the FHU section. Very nice, quiet and close to the lake! We did have reservations made well in advance, but people were able to get in without them by showing up close to check out time.

RE: Small light TV's

Any of the smaller Vizio LED LCD HD sets will work great. They are lightweight, have decent viewing angles and low power consumption. The 22" and 26" can be had right now at decent prices.
I work in the video game industry and run the 22" sets in our QC lab for a variety of reasons. I have a 22" mounted in the master bedroom of our TT and all TVs in my house are Vizio now too. Great value for the money.

RE: hints and/or tips on purchasing used travel trailer

Open up a radius around your address to search in, don't be afraid to travel to find a good deal. I'm in central NC and purchased our TT from a guy in Chattanooga, TN. We made one trip out to see the camper and another to pick it up after we got the details worked out.
Don't settle. Do your homework. Use ALL available search/listing methods to find what you want. Ask if you can pull it once before buying. Ask what's included (WD setup?).

RE: 24"Barker jack measurements

I have the 24" Barker. It measures 24" from the trailer tongue up to the bottom of the motor housing, 29" to the top of the motor housing. From the tube to the back of the motor housing, it measures 1".
I think these are the measurements you were requesting? If not, let me know and I can measure again, hope this helps.
You can of course mount it sideways as suggested above. I love the 24" and am really glad I went with it over the 18". There are a few tricky spots, my driveway for one, that use every bit of the 24" stroke to get the Equalizer bars off.

RE: trailor rocks when set up

Couple things. If you are having to extend your stabilizers pretty far they will provide less stability. I carry 6x6x6 square blocks to put under each stab as needed so I don't have to drop them so far. Sometimes I'll even add more under those with levelers and such.
After setting up a couple things can happen that will cause you to have to adjust the stabilizers. Tires can change pressure and people walking and moving in the camper can cause shifts and settling that require further adjustments.
I too have set up and come back later to find a jack not touching the ground! Keep adjusting until you are satisfied. It will never be free of movement.

RE: Towing advice for 1st timers please

I own a 2010 Nissan Frontier Pro4X. I don't tow out TT with it, we have an Armada for that task.
There's great advice in this thread regarding a variety of things you should pay attention to and consider in your TT search and subsequent towing. One thing I will recommend in addition to all that's come before me is that you should look into adding "helper springs" and maybe even upgrading your shocks on the Frontier. Even my Pro4X with the Bilsteins has a very soft rear end. After adding helpers it is much more stable, has increased payload (which is a must when towing with the Fronty) and maintains a sagless orientation when something is hitched to it.
I pull an 18' bowrider with my Frontier. I was very unhappy with the sag caused by this small boat. The spring assists have made all the difference for me.
Payload should be your top concern with the Frontier, there's not much there to begin with and you'll take 50% or more up with tongue weight alone thereby not leaving much room for passengers let alone any cargo in the bed.

A month ago while there we booked a float and white water combo with Jackson Hole White Water. They, like all the rest, are located in Jackson. We had a blast! No issues, friendly employees, it was great, highly recommend them.
