RE: MOUSE QUESTION

I say just go against what you have been told all your life (if you are a guy) and leave the lid up. It worked for two of 'em, probably will for the rest of 'em.

Charging question

I boondock camp exclusively and, therefore, have to charge my batteries regularly. I have a Honda 2000 generator to recharge with. When I run the generator, I plug in the trailer's power cord, but I also use the 12 volt charging cable that plugs directly into the generator, and attach them to one of the batteries. It seems to charge the batteries much quicker than just using the inverter built into the trailer. Before I got the 12 volt cables, it would take twice as long to get the batteries up to 100%. I wondered if those of you that have more experience than I would know if this is going to cause me any problems down the road. It sure saves run time on my generator.

Fall Camping.

DW and I just got back from 5 days of incredible camping in the Uinta mountains, about 60 miles from where we live. The weather was great, even the light showers we had were enjoyable. The fishing was not all that great BUT, having all kinds of wildlife walk thru our camp and having elk bugle all around us really made this the best camping experience of the year for us.

Secure battery storage

I have a 28' Keystone Hornet Hideout and was thinking about putting a truck toolbox on the front to provide a more secure place for my batteries and also add a bit more storage space. Has anyone else tried this and if so, how did it work out for you?

RE: 12 volt fan-Can I use it?

I live and camp in the mountains in Wyoming. I just bought two of the same fans you saw at Walmart and also a double adapter to plug into my TV plug. If your batteries are good you shouldn't have a problem.

Honda generator problem.

Honda generator problem.

I bought two Honda 2000 generators and a kit to make them double the output so I can use my AC when I am boondocking. I finally ( after three years) got around to actually trying to use them together. They both run and function perfectly on their own but tied together, one runs like it should but the other one throttles up and down rapidly and the out put drops. If I don' t run the AC, they both run fine when together but put a load on and the one goes spastic. Any ideas or suggestions? Post moved from TT Forum to Tech Issues Forum Moderator - TT Forum

RE: Considering Hi Lo vs. hybrid

I had a HiLo and my experience with it led me to stay away from RV'ing for several years. Raising it required someone on each corner to help it go up. It was used when I bought it but only a few years old. We crawled in on our hands and knees several times to get a short nap because it was that much of a pain in the a** to raise. Would not recommend them to anyone. My next camper was a PUP. Sold it to get a TT and miss the PUP dearly. Guess it comes down to individual tastes and preferences.

RE: Went from PUP to TT

I understand the sad goodbye part. I had the same PUP you had and sold it and replaced it with a 28' Hideout Bunkhouse TT. Love the TT but miss all the places I could go to with the PUP. Am thinking seriously about getting a used PUP Just to use for my hunting and way back trips.

RE: Exterior Shower

I only boondock so I bought a shower enclosure from Cabelas and use it all the time.

RE: Camping with a C-pap

I bought an Escape 150 Explorer Kit and it works great for me. I keep my two 12 volt batteries charged as well as the inverter. The inverter will run my c-pap for about 12 hours. Just charge the inverter in the morning and then charge the 12 volt batteries in the afternoon. You can find them on EBay. A little pricey but all I do is boondocking and I hardly ever have to use my generator.

RE: Campgrounds near Jackson & Hobart Junction, Wy.

DW and I just got back from Granite Springs. The hot spring pool was GREAT and only a few other people there. The view was fantastic and we had moose and deer come thru our camp several times.
