RE: Timothy Lake- Poconos

It has been many years since I have camped there I am guessing there have been changes. I would suggest you go to www.Thousandtrails.com and read what they have to offer plus you can make a non member reservation on this site. I do know North has less sites available but does have most of the amenities. North was and imagine still is more of a party type atmosphere, especially on weekends, lots going on. You can get from South to North easily by either driving or walking about a half mile on the narrow road to the cg. I have walked it already but it was not the smartest thing I have ever done due to traffic and no sidewalk. Good luck

RE: GS/CW renewal

Thank you for the explanation Wes, it makes sense to me now. I might take advantage of the offer now that I know the reasoning behind the credit card only requirement. I was a little skeptical when I was told cash was not permitted. If it had been explained to me right away there would have not been a question as to the "no cash allowed" for the renewal.

GS/CW renewal

I was shopping at the Kissimmee CW store and while checking out I was offered a discounted renewal. I was informed I could renew for 20.00 and lock in the yearly dues, which I was going to accept until I was told they would not accept cash, only credit card. I am curious why cash is not allowed and the cashier did not give me any explanation other than that is what is required. I know at most places you get the cheaper price if you pay cash due to the fees involved in a credit card tranasaction. I did decline the offer.

RE: water pressure

I installed the oxygenics shower head and it made an improvement. If you are hooked up to campground water supply try turning on your water pump as a supplement, that usually helps also. I assume your filters are not partially clogged.

RE: Where is the hot water electric switch

The switch you are describing at your bathroom sink sounds like your water heater switch for 120 volts. I have one at that location with the USB shaped red light lens, it is a vertical lens in my situation with the switch right next to the lens. I can not answer why you are not getting any hot water but I hope you don't have the water heater bypassed with the handle in your water and sewer compartment. If that is the case and you have had it bypassed you might have burned out your heating element. good luck

RE: 2003 Dolphin LX 36' lost 110 power, need help

I get the same problen at times, just affects the electronics and a couple of outlets in sink area. I reset the inverter or converter GFI receptable, not sure which one, in the outside compartment and that usually does it. Just look for the GFI receptable in the compartment and reset the receptable, this might take care of your problem, it usually works for me. Good luck.

RE: Winnebago Wipers Won't Stop

I had the exact problem with my 2003 Workhorse and the same results, they would not shut off. I also drove with them operating after the rain stopped, even after pulling into a rest area and shutting off the motor. The next day I relucantly turned them back on and than shut them off and everything worked fine. This happened about a year ago and they have been working fine since then. I do get nervous everytime I do use them but so far everything has been fine. I hope you have the same results, good luck.

RE: Place to buy 22.5 tires in Dallas Tx or Okalahoma city?

Congratulations on your new purchase. I don't know what brand MH you purchased but if it is one similar to mine, National RV Dolphin, you might be limited to the Michelins because as far as I know they are the only manufature that makes the 235's. My Dolphin has a narrow rim, 6.75 and that does limit you somewhat. I did some research and calling around to different tire stores, including Hankook and Goodyear, and asked them if they could replace my Michelins with a tire similar to my 235's and was told no one else made that size. They did have something close but in my case with the narrow rim they would not give me a definite recommendation. I did ask if they could mount one of their brands and we could check for clearance but they told me I would just be better off sticking with the size that it came with. Good luck, Don

RE: Weber Q-Grill Problem

I had a similar problem recently, thought at first my tank was empty because I was not getting any gas to the grill. I filled the tank and still nothing and like you mentioned the hose OR any gauge attached to hose might be faulty. That was my problem, I removed the gauge I had installed a few years ago and just ran the hose to the tank and that fixed it for me. Somehow it would not allow the gas to pass through anymore no matter how tight I made the connection. I would suggest, if you can, substitute another hose temporarily to see if that is your problem. Good luck

RE: HELP !!

The brake fuse is a good place to start. I had a similar issue on my 96 when I plugged in my towing power cord incorrectly. I replaced the brake lightr fuse and that did the trick. My fuse was located under the dash. The location was on the fuse box cover, can't remember the number anymore but worse case senario use the substitution method.

RE: Am I the last snowbird up north

I had to make a deal with my wife so I could come down in Oct. I convinced her it would save me from winterizing and also would not have to be concerned about bad weather driving. I am allowed to go down early but have to leave the RV in our seasonal spot and return home with the toad for the holidays. I don't mind too much because some of the grandkids are still young and they make it a great Christmas for the grandparents. I am usually back down for the New Years festivities at the campground.

RE: Sherwood Forest kissimmee

We stayed at Sherwood a few times, mostly during the busy season and a lot of the sites are very close together, seems as though those were the ones we were assigned. It is an older park, some sites have concrete pads but not all are in great shape. The sites are mostly grass and fairly level with some open and some trees. There are plenty of rest rooms throughout the park and laundry facilities. The recreation area has a nice pool and mini golf and they do have activities in the clubhouse with Saturday breakfasts. If you are a Camping World fan there is one almost across the street from Cg and you are right in the middle of just about any type of store or eating place. If I had a choice between Lake Magic and Sherwood I think Lake Magic is a nicer park, larger sites with two pools. I think with Sherwood you also have access to another pool across the street in their other housing section, it is a nice pool also. Good luck.

RE: Slide out Topper/Awning: Underside Cleaning

We have also used the bleach and water mixture, seems to work well. I might also suggest soaking the top of topper with whatever mixture you choose and when it is saturated retract your slides and let the mixture soak for a while, it will saturate the underside when rolled up. Than use the rag and broom method, repeat if necessary. If you don't let the mildew on the topper too long you should not have much of a problem removing it. As far as preventing it I don't have any advice other than put it away clean and dry and possibly cover it. Good luck.

RE: Dolphin water tank

Could you possibly slide a larger diameter hose over the length of the existing one to catch the leaks? I know sometimes they route hoses through the tightest places and than it would not work but it could be a cheap fix, good luck, Don

RE: Power Gear hyd levelers

The first thing I would check is to make sure you have the emergency brake depressed all the way. I am suggesting this because I know someone who had a similar issue and I, oops,he did not have the brake on all the way. Next step would be to check fuses. Good luck.

RE: Cover the motorhome this winter - or not?

There are pros and cons, I personally prefer to cover, I like having it protected from the sun and rain, it looks good when I uncover it. I personally use a Classic brand but there are many other brands that are just as protective. I did try one of the blue tarps and as previously mentioned there was some chafing but the better brands made for RV's provides better protection. I do put foam pipe insulation over the sharp parts to help protect the cover. I use gallon milk jugs filled with sand and attached to the eyelets with bungie cords to keep it secure. I prefer the jugs over tying it with the supplied straps to tie it from underneath because that sometimes will chafe or rub the finish and would sometimes allow the cover to creep depending which way the wind would blow. I must admit it does become a challenge if the wind is blowing when attempting to install the cover, especially doing it yourself, but on a calm day I can do it in about 15 minutes. The other suggestions are workable also but just telling you what works for me, good luck.

RE: Canadian border

We did it at Niagara Falls about 5 years ago, stayed at a cg in US, parked the toad at the falls area and walked across. There was a small fee at that time and we had to go through customs but it went quickly. We did not use any public transportation on Canadian side because we were satisfied to walk the area. Good luck.

RE: What's in your toolbox for your classA?

As mentioned in previous posts I carry more than I should but it certaintly provides my neighbors all the things they need to borrow but almost never do I have the one I need at the time.

RE: Electric Step Inop

I had a similar problem the other day and it was low battery voltage. I had not started it for about a month and the battery voltage was at about 11 volts, enough to start the MH but not enough to allow the steps to operate. Hopefully you are as lucky as I was, started the MH and they operated as usual. Another word of caution, do not check connections while lying under the steps, if you are lucky to find the problem they will come down on you. Good luck.
