RE: Front cap insulation

I am going to do this today I would like to use foam board and spray foam. But I am thinking of changing wiring and or repair in the future. I have decided to use a product called Roxul ComfortBatt Roxul It says it is now available in the States The reason for me using is it resists and or repels moisture and does not rot, promote mildew, fungi, or bacteria, or sustain vermin. I hope this stuff will last as it will be hard to get a good vapour barrier seal in the upper cap. Fleetwood does not have any vapour barrier there now.

RE: looking for owners of 2004-2005 Pace Arrows

No it does it without shore power and with. I still have not found any ground strips. It is to cold out to work on every day but I have taken a lot of panels off and not found anything yet. It is hard to pinpoint as well as now most of the time the lights work properly but I am going to have to keep trying to solve, find some grounds or make new ones. I do not like the frame grounds for what is called in a wire diagram "wire harness routing info" they are called 177 crossover to roadside and crossover to doorside (177) these are not the problem I am having but I do not like the ground attachments being right in the rear wheel wells wear they are going to be geting wet all the time I will fix these this summer. Does this happen only on shore power? If you disconnect from shore power, are the lights stable? It does sound like a ground issue, assuming your lights are all 12v lights, at least the ones being impacted. My stick built house had a similar issue with some lights going dim and others getting brighter, and it was a floating neutral coming on on the main feed from the street. Jim HI new Pace Arrow owner here. Read this whole topic it did take some time but well spent. It was rather depressing it seems I might be doing a lot more repairs than the modifications that I was looking forward to. I have a 2008 33V (W22) not mentioned here but here is my Question. Having what appears to be a bad ground problem with interior lights that do not work and make other light circuits glow. I do not see any other 33V's here but Fleetwood's should be similar. To cold up here to crawl around underneath yet. Are the circuits grounded at or near the fixtures or at a common lug point and where to look for them. It could be a cold issue as it seems to fix itself after the furnace has warmed the unit up or may be I have jiggled enough wires or fuses. Now I have have had the unit for a month not used it yet, but have been trying to get familiar with the systems on some of the warmer days. I am finding the wiring kind of a rats nest but all newer cars and trucks are as well. Doug

RE: Calling all electrical engineers (backup camera question)

When I did mine a did not worry about having power to both. I do unhook the TT power when not using to prevent corrosion at plug. I used a TV video switch placed in reach to change back and forth between camera's,

RE: New to me 1st motorhome?

Thank you all with the good comments. On the ignition interlock I downloaded a RV Custom Products PDF wiring and trouble shooting guide. This was not included in the briefcase of paperwork that was included with the unit. It does mention this feature but I only recognized the possibility the way it is worded buy the response from some of you that this was a feature. The workhorse manual does mention you cannot rotate the tires the regular way. Looking closer today the inside duals are steel not Aluminium. Also the outer finish on the front wheels would be marked up putting them on the rear. I am going to have to do some research CAA , Coach Net, ERS, and Good Sam. I have read all the manuals hard to take it in all at once with out my mind glazing over with all the warnings hiding the information a person is after. It has been cold and snowy here making it hard to play with systems or even load the coach. Hope to do frist trip in March to the rainy West Coast or possibly all the way to Vegas.

New to me 1st motorhome?

Well we might of went of went crazy and sold my Trailer and went for this 2008 Pace Arrow 33V Workhorse (seems to be the same plan as Southwind 32VS) http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff270/dougsee3/Stk-30435-RD-08-Pace-Arrow-33V-A1-large_zps82b33fe3-1_zps94b30b0b.jpg I do have a couple of Questions to start. Being there seems to be no spare as the wheels front and back and inside rear do not interchange how do I fix a tire on the road. I have the Canadian version of AAA with the Plus (for RV's?) Is there some kind of list of mobile tire repair services. Also one of the Fleetwood motorhomes I was in the main battery shut off, shut down the dash and you could not start or get any dash display. This Unit does not seem to do this. Has some thing changed or which is normal. I see that the switch needs to be on to charge from shore or Gen. power?

RE: Exhaust Options for 8.1L *UPDATE*

8.1 exhaust I have the two 12286 that muffman recommends very slight drone 1800 to 2200 rpm I can live with it but at times it is annoying as a driver in the passenger seat I do not notice as much. Do some reading and search "muffman" And or exhaust and or differant brands.

RE: Hit the Cat Scale this past weekend. Thoughts??

Were the DW, DD and DS in the truck at the weighing. It seems you will have to watch your loading for the rear axle as you are close without clothes and food.

RE: Do the lifters, or new long block Chevy 454

I would just readjust all the valve clearance. Also if you find the one that is ticking by holding thumb on rocker while motor running replace that rocker arm usually the ball is galled from out being out of adjustment and then not oiling proper. I used to have this problem once in while started to carry a rocker arm with me never had to use it.

RE: What transmission does my 04 suburban 2500 have?

Your Burb has a 4L85E to which is just a heavy duty 4L80E. Telling you this as some times ordering aftermarket parts that (4L85E) is what they will ask.

RE: Moving over to the dark side...

Sounds like a good fit as long as your truck is the one rated at 8500 lbs. (4.10 gears 4x4) In your area you would still fine with a slightly lower (3.73) rating. The towing might be a little hard if your truck had only 3.42 gearing for eg. Are you sure you have the 8500 lb rating?
