RE: Black Tank Flush Leaks - Help

The obvious call is to try to follow the line to the point where it enters the tank or where there is a joint or connection.. Turn on the water and locate the exact leak location... Hose clamp? Compression fitting? cracked hose or connection? Start there and tighten or replace as needed...that's what the dealer would do.

RE: diesel treatment

I put a bottle of taco sauce in every other tank full. It improves the power and increases mileage..I've done this for years. A mechanic friend of my neighbor's brother recommended it. http://www.mexcart.com/images/La%20Victoria%20Red%20Taco%20Sauce%20Mild%20-%208%20oz.jpg height=200

RE: RV Winterizing Antifreeze Price Poll: $3.97

Price of RV anti-freeze?...I just don't care. I never quibble about chump change like the difference between $3.97 and $5.00. When I need it I buy it where ever I happen to be.

RE: Tire pressure

Assuming that the rims on your trailer are correct for 80 psi tires..you should absolutely run them at max. pressure as stamped on their sidewall.. Interesting that the tire guy only pumped them to 65..I'd call him and ask him why?

RE: gas grill recomendations

Appreciate the Weber advice. Wonder, though, why wouldn't you get some kind of adaptor and hose and run it off your bottle(s) from the trailer? I think I've seen kits for that and been meaning to look into it. Some reason why this isn't a good idea? No reason at all... I just went with the 5 lb refillable tank because it gives me more flexibility to move the grill where ever I want around the campsite or even down to the beach or lake or tailgating...etc. The hose method somewhat limits where you can set up your grill.

RE: Slides

Lots of valid opinions about this topic... Our opinion..good or bad we would not consider an RV without slides. Our first one did not have a slide because we were afraid they would be a "problem." We REGRETTED it and sold it. The benefits for us far out weigh the negatives..We now have 2 slides. If you plan on using your RV a lot and will be inside of it a lot (being inside is a reality)...get slides.

RE: gas grill recomendations

Any of the Weber Q series/sizes. We have a 220 at home and travel with the Baby Q (100). Works great for the two of us. Forget using the little 16 oz disposable propane bottles..get a 5 lb. refillable tank. This combination is a great set up for camping.

RE: Reality check on car-care myths.

So let me get this straight....Mark Twain says that I don't need to change my oil every 3000 miles? I wonder how many miles he went before he changed his...:h

RE: High Milage 07 Duramax Chevy Classic - Worth Buying?

Can't comment on the mileage... But the 07 Duramax Classic comes with the Allison 6 speed and the LBZ generation Duramax...The LBZ is a great engine and has become much sot after. Tons of power and torque.. 360/650, very little of the new emissions junk and no known problems.

RE: Awning tie down in windy condition (20-25 mph)

Well, I have a different approach..no tie downs. If it is too windy for our awning to be safely deployed without tie downs then I bring it in.. Tie downs can also slow the process of bringing in the awning in an emergency - like a sudden storm. A wind torn out awning can cause a lot of damage and be expensive. I have seen too many and don't want any part of it. The worst was an awning that was RIPPED out causing major side wall damage...the tie downs they were using held just fine...

RE: Tire expiration dates

Except for the cost...buying tires is no different than buying bananas. Fresh is better. When I do buy, I'll certainly insist on seeing the "born" date first and insist on fresh tires.

RE: Holiday Rambler Towables ?

Isn't Holiday Rambler a division of the Monaco? Isn't Monaco is rough financial shape? The Presidential and it's sister the LaKota were certainly at one time a first class trailer.

RE: 2007 Jayco 232 Woes - Need Opinions

My opinion and it's only an opinion.. Since it's "out of warranty" I feel that you are very lucky that Jayco is stepping up and helping you at all. A repair like this including possibly a new roof would cost your much, much, much more than the $2K they are asking you to cover... I'd pay it in a minute and be thanking my lucky stars that Jayco is even talking to you...many if not most companies would basically tell you "tough beans", it's you problem. You could also transport it yourself to the factory and maybe save a few $$$. Not a Jayco owner here, but Kudos to them.

Being a tax payer, I'd support this decision even if we were not in the middle of rough economic times.
