RE: Lacrosse or Sprinter?

We have a 2006 Sprinter 300FKBS and love it, buying it new in 2006. We have had no problems with it and I love the front kitchen as it has more counter space and at least you aren't looking at the kitchen when you are watching TV at night. They changed the bathroom and bedroom set up a little on the newer ones, but I like ours as we have 2 nice big windows in the bedroom. Plus I don't mind the smaller bathroom/shower. We also have the aluminum siding and right now my DH and trailer are on their way to Crede, CO as we are setting up in a new RV Park for the summer. He will come back and get me and the motorcycle then. The trailer still looks brand new and so far, nothing has gone wrong with it. No leaks, all appliances work well and it tows beautifully. I can hardly wait to get gone for awhile.

RE: Newbie

All newer travel trailers are made to be walked on. There should be information in the papers and manuals they gave you when you bought the trailer as to how to take care of it. In just looking online, the Gulfstream website for Amerilite says it has: One piece seamless roof with 12 year warranty, Strong wood roof decking screwed and glued, Solid wood rafters. You will need a ladder to get up there, and wear a soft soled shoe and find out what material your roof is made of (most are a rubber type roof) and you will be able to find information on how to clean it. Our trailer is 7 years old and my husband cleans it at least twice during the summer season as we are in an area of tall pine trees. He uses a roof cleaner he gets at Walmart. Do not use a power washer. Just a brush and cleaner that they sell for these roofs. Just be careful as the wet areas can get slippery. He wears a pair of regular old boat shoes he had. If you are still in doubt, call your dealer and talk to a tech or a manager, not a sales person. They sometimes do not know.

RE: Lighting our new TT

I also do not like the overhead lights and about the only one I use regularly is the one in the bathroom. I also bought a couple small (maybe 12 - 14 inches) lamps and put one on the kitchen counter, and one on the small side table by the recliner and one in the bedroom where we have a small desk/dresser area. So with those and the one on the microwave/range hood, that is about all we use. Course we are plugged into electric all the time and do not boondock. I only use the overhead lights when I have to. Where there is a will there is a way. Good luck with whatever you want to do and enjoy your trailer. Happy camping.

RE: Tub or Shower

You could stay with the shower and use the plastic tub to wash her up and then use the shower to rinse her off. In a couple years she will prefer to take a shower anyway. We have the small tub and shower and that is how I bathe my dog actually. Otherwise we don't use the tub except to stand in. And actually if she is not too dirty, just a quick shower would be fine anyway.

RE: Slides (4) on a Montana 2009 3605rl

Just curious......why do you want to put one slide in, instead of letting all 4 slides remain out?????

RE: Anybody have allergies to their TT

I think intense airing out will probably solve your problem. Also sometimes the dyes in the upholstery on the sofa and chair cushions and carpet can be part of the problem. When not using our TT I spread dryer sheets around on the furniture and the bed. But mostly leave the trailer open as much as you can, including the cabinets. Good luck.

RE: Slide vs non-slide Tavel trailers

I think it would be based on how many people are going to be in the trailer most of the time; plus how big are they; how you are going to use the trailer; will you be travelling alot and only staying in a place for a short while, etc. We had a 30ft tt w/o a slide to start with, but then traded it in on a 34ft tt with 2 slides. One in living area and one in bedroom. I would never go back to a no slide tt, but then again we tend to stay in one place for most of the time. Also we have had no problem with our slides and our tt is going on 7 years old.

RE: Rear Kitchens

We have a front kitchen and like it also as it has more counter space and the living area is in the middle of the trailer so it doesn't seem like you are in the kitchen all the time and do not have to look through the kitchen to see the t.v.

RE: RV specs

Have you tried contacting Keystone company customer service directly. They might have them on file somewhere and can either make you a copy or email it to you. Would be worth a try.

RE: I can't believe we bought a TT!

That is a very nice TT. I like the openness of the bedroom with the 3 windows and the fact you got the sofa with the table. That will be much more comfortable than a dinette and for the 2 of you will be perfect. Have a good time and enjoy your camper.

RE: clothing storage in TT

Depending on where you will be traveling, I would think a 2 weeks supply of clothes would be enough and then go wash them at a laundromat. Add a sweatshirt or sweater and a light jacket and a couple pair of shoes. If there is something unexpected you would need, you can always stop at a mall or discount store and pick something up. We live in our trailer for the whole summer in Wisconsin and I try to keep only a 2 week supply of everything. I have one hamper and when that gets full with clothes, towels, etc. we go to the laundromat. My husband has a heavy motorcycle jacket, helmet, boots, etc. and those I keep in the storage under the bed. I prefer to keep things minimal to make it easier to have the tt organized. And once again, if I need something or forget something, I just go do a little shopping and take some of the old things I don't wear to Goodwill or Salvation Army if they are in good shape. We do happen to have 2 nice wardrobes and 4 big dresser drawers, but I still try not to overload them. Keep it simple - enjoy the trip.

RE: Winter Trailer Ventilation

Our trailer is in northern Wisconsin and after winterizing it in September, I spread Bounce dryer sheets around, close up everything tightly, and open it back up in May. Have done this now for 6 years and so far, no leaks, mildew or moldy or musty smell. Not sure why yours got moldy and mildewed. Could be you had an undetected water leak inside the walls?

RE: Which Is The Best Trailer And Why?

The trailer you have that you enjoy and could afford without going into debt for is the best.

RE: Slide floor raised up when retracted

Ours is up a little bit after it is retracted. I was told that is normal and we just try and not to step on the edge of it. But we pretty much do not use the TT after we bring in the slideouts anyway. It is level after we put them back out.

RE: Black tank odor

Most of the suggestions stated so far should work. We always use the deodorant packages and plenty of water when flushing especially after doing "business" and always make sure after flushing that there is a couple inches of water in the bottom of the toilet bowl. We empty our black tank frequently and if it is not very full, we add water to it to get a good gravity flushing and then empty the gray tanks to clean out the hose really well. Our trailer is 6 years old and we have never had a problem with odors whether the fan is running or not. It could be your vent is closed or clogged maybe. Hope you get it figured out soon.

Did not quite understand your post, but here is a website to help with the winterizing: http://www.beckleysrvs.com/blog/post/How-to-Winterize-Your-Travel-Trailer.aspx
