RE: New to Seasonal Site.

This is our 5th year in a seasonal site. Before we only spent 6-7 weekends in the camper a year but now we go almost every weekend! It's just so easy to throw some clothes in a bag and some food in the cooler and off we go. Somday we want to travel again but for now this is great for us. We do not have to cut the grass (we don't have much anyway) and someone even cleans out our firepit! Our campground has activities every weekend during the season. Sometimes we participate sometimes we don't. Now there is no pressure on us to "do all we can" anytime we are there. We have a concrete pad and decking - it was already there when we got the sight. Put a small screenhouse on the deck to get away from the 'sqeeters:) We do pull our camper home after the season is over. This gives us time to clean out and restock. Also Virginia would charge me a fee(tax) for leaving my camper in the campground all year. So we just tow it home to Maryland - only 40 minutes to home - for the winter. Hope you enjoy your seasonal site as much as we do!!Happy Camping!!

RE: Spring time!

Here on the Eastern Shore of Maryland the weather is just not cooperating. We had almost 3 inches of snow last night. Most of it was gone by lunchtime but come on......thought my DH was joking this morning when he looked out the window. Now the weatherman says near 60 tomorrow and RAIN. UGH....

RE: Really, Really like our new TT

Try Overstock.com...you can get a short queen memory foam mattress for about $300. Shipping is cheap and fast.

RE: They're gonna go camping! Outside! In an RV! Ugh!

Just and insurance advertisement. Don't bother. But the commercial is still cute.

RE: Need a new mattress

Try looking at the used mattresses at Goodwill or Salvation Army- the prices can't be beat, and if you look a little, you can find a few that aren't stained or mildewed too bad. And don't let a few random stains or skid-marks scare you: you'd be surprised how a good spritzing of bleach and water gets out most of the stains, as well as neutralizing most of the odors and overall funk. However, as a rule, try and stay away from the ones with the black or really dark stains- that's usually dried blood, and that can be a real pain to get out, even if you scrub really hard. I think thebudman is pulling your legs. Our local Salvation Army & Goodwill do not accept used mattresses.:)

RE: Advice Needed/Vent Session...

What happens when it gets cold? Are the MIL & BIL going to stay in the camper all winter? Someone needs to address that issue. Of course there is always Florida:B
