RE: Flooring upgrade...

You have a couple options: you can use a rubber or vinyl transition that will go from 3/8 with a lip that you can insert the 33/8 material in and that slopes to zero. Or a flat metal or T moulding.

RE: Flooring upgrade...

you can use stair nose rubber or wood. If you use stair nose metal, select silver. The gold stuff wears off to silver

RE: Momma wants a wood floor

Pergo is a brand name. Engineered wood is a process with multi layers of plywood and topping it off with real wood veneer. Dimensionally stable, and tongue and groove is way easier then the click together products to install.

RE: Momma wants a wood floor

Engineered wood is the best stuff. Glue it to the floor, and if it gets scratched, you can touch it up. ALL hardsurface material will scratch

RE: Slide out scratching wood floor

Slide Slickers are too expensive. Go to a retail flooring store and see if they have some luxury vinyl planks in stock. Those are super slick, then yet dense. I had some left over from a job and have given those to other clients whenever there may be a slide issue

RE: Can you dye the RV carpet?

It will still be old, dirty carpet with a new color that may come off on your feet. Get a runner from Lowes or H.D. they have them 2 foot wide on a roll and bound on the edges.

RE: RV Flooring Relative Weights

I am in the process of removing ceramic tile. I was able to take up one piece intact. That square foot weighed 5 pounds. That will be a lot of weight out of this coach.

RE: RV Flooring Relative Weights

I was working with a client who had a Foretravel. He was nervous as a cat by a rocking chair about the fact that they only had 225 pounds per axle before they were over weight. They fulltimed and I did not see an over abundance of items in the coach. He said they have been really diligent about not acquiring stuff. He was so nervous I told him to take that coach back to the factory to see whats' up. Haven't heard another word.

RE: Replacing carpet with vinyl

The work is labor intensive. A residential flooring person charges by square foot or square yard. Those guys can move pretty fast, covering large areas in a day. A coach is a whole different price point.

RE: RV Flooring Relative Weights

Weight is all over the spectrum. Narrow down your selection. Carpet and pad - and all the embedded dirt can weigh a lot.

RE: Replacing carpet with vinyl

Does anyone know what the price range would be to change the carpet out to vinyl? IN WHAT?
