RE: Doing the MPG math on a new(er) truck

I have always gone along with the thinking of if you have to worry about what it's going to cost for fuel, you don't need to have a camper. With what you have invested in a truck and what ever kind of rv fuel is the least of the worries to me..JMHO

RE: Question About Ford 6.0 Diesel

I have had my 2004 for 6 years and it has been a pretty good truck. I had to put a injector mod. on it and that's been it for the 155k miles. The owner before me pulled a 5th wheel with it and serviced it on time every time and I do the same. Oil and fuel filters are not cheap, but cheaper than a new eng. If you are not going to use your truck for towing heavy load or carring heavy loads then buy a gas burner. I use mine to haul my TC but still would not get rid of it because of the extra expense of operating it.

RE: Big Guy, Small Bathroom

As another 'big guy' kinda tight........see what you mean. http://images.boatsandcycles.com/729dc292219d11e4832b12313809eda0.jpg width=650A friend of mine has a 31 footer with rear bunks and front queen and a bathroom just like this one. Well when you get a bunch of guys at the races in that thing and sharing that bath it's a joke. We've had as many 8 stay in the camper and everyone knows your business right off if you know what i mean. It would be very easy to bump that wall out. Go for it..It just doesn't make sense why the company would do such a thing. I have a TC and have that much room!

Texas Gulf Coast

RE: CB Antenna Mount

I have a F250 with a Lance 855 and had to use a finder mount for my firestick app 6 inches towards the front of the veh. from the rear edge of the hood. That gives me about 3-4 inches clearance to the front of the camper. I had to use a short ant. for my am/fm radio.

RE: Disabled Parking Permits

It is illegal for anyone, a security person, parking attendant or even a police officer to ask me why I have a permit and demand an answer. ? In the states, or state, you also have a billfold card that you might have to show showing person and disability involved if requested by a LEO. But to anybody asking me why, my first question to them is "are you an orthopedic surgeon? " unless their answer is yes, I am a tad bit rude to them. and MYOB is not it, more like GFY. bumpy Sorry what exactly does the billfold card say? Does it identify your condition? We do not have to disclose the identity to anyone if asked. Our privacy act covers that. My friend had a 15 minute discussion with a police officer demanding to know her condition. Finally he called his superior and got quite the mouthful on the radio for all to hear, informing him it was none of his business. He then apologised. In the great state of Arkansas it is on your driver's lic. If you are using a hanging permit the officer will check your lic. and make sure that you are legal. Same with tags. If you are driving a veh with hc tags and park in a hc spot they can check your driver's lic..

RE: To Tailgate or not to tailgate.

I had a long camper on a short bed and would leave the tailgate on when I carried it. I never had a problem myself with damage when leaving it on and liked the fact that I had it when I got to where I was going. I still have a short bed with a Lance 855 and have to remove my tailgate when in use. I don't like not having the tailgate when I get to where I am going.. JMTC
