RE: Shiny RV with Red Max Pro (pics)

Hello all This process really does work well. We did it two years ago and were very happy with the results. Two years later and it is starting to lose that shine. So.... do I need to start from square one with the BKF and TSP. Or will a good wash and then Red Max Pro be sufficient? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

RE: Shiny RV with Red Max Pro (pics)

A year has gone by after the RMP work and it still looks pretty good, but not like it did last year. How have people touched up the work? Or is it back to the BKF and TSP?

only leaking when moving

I have been trying to track down a small leak for about a year now. It has been very sporadic but I think I got it figured out. The leak is in the front right of the cab where there is a storage bin. The way I can tell is that we usually store beach towels up there and on the edge of the towel in the front is damp. In torrential rain, wind, etc. there are no leaks when the RV is parked. We just had some major rain in the northeast and the area of the leak was bone dry. When driving home in a moderate rain, I checked right when we were at home and it was a little damp. I am guessing perhaps the marker lights in the front, which I will be resealing asap, but I am interested in anyone elses ideas/solutions. Thanks in advance Love the forum

tv antenna and no signal

Not that I am a big TV watcher camping but it is the NFL season and I would like to catch some games on this weekends trip. I just bought a new tv (Toshiba) but have the old crank up antenna common during the manufacture year of my rig (2002). I also have a antenna boost button. Just went out to check and got NADA. Just snow with no real change when rotating the antenna at its full height. Any suggestions?

side can over windows

Been trying to track down a small leak this summer and think I have finally found it. It appears that the small side windows on the cabover are leaking. Not where they meet the side of the coach but the window tracks themselves. My two options are to replace the window (which makes me leery of a new leak occuring) or to caulk them up. Any suggestions? Tom

AM Reception

Not sure if this is a class C problem or not but... I never get great AM reception. FM is fine but AM mostly static. Not sure if the cabover (which blocks the antenna) has anything to do with it. This is my second radio in the unit with the same problem. Any tips would be appreciated. THanks tom

scissor jacks

I have the standard scissor jacks to stablize the RV. A couple of years ago the got real hard to crank so I did a Walmart run and got some grease. Put it on... no problem Fast Forward to today. They scissor jacks started getting a little difficult again so I started to grease them with the same stuff. Now it requires herculian effort to crank up and down. Not sure what I did wrong. Any help is appreciatted.

Replacing all of the seals on roof

OK, Last trip we noticed a little bit of a leak during a severe storm. Thought when I get back that I would get a pressure test done to see where the leak was before it got serious. When I took it to my local RV guy they asked when was the last time that the caulking/seals were redone. I never had them done and had the unit for 8 years. Im pretty sure the previous owner, who had it for 2 also did not have it redone. All of the caulking is cracked and hard. They want to peel it all up and replace it with new. They also say it is about an 8 hour job to heat the old stuff up, scrape it off, clean it and replace. Shop time in new york is pricy. Is this a job I should attempt on my own? It appears that it is time intensive.
