RE: Tires replaced

Sorry, my bet is not on entry level tires manufactured in China. Warranties at Les Schwab's is a good thing, but after you have experienced a catastrophic event the warranty may leave you feeling empty. So you went from a known good product to a ????? over the highway truck tire???? to save $1,000? Fred

RE: Voltage at the pedestal

I'm using the LP for hot water. I tried switching the refrigerator (a Norcold) to LP, but got an "F" on the display panel. I assume that means there's a fault, so I've switched it back to the electric mode. The refrigerator is turned off when we drive and then we use the sites electricity to run it. The site is dead level fore and aft and port and starboard. Thanks again, Chris The "F" fault code indicates the burner failed to light. Possibly air needs to be bleed from the system, try a couple of times prior to getting service. Fred

RE: Water heater for a Winnebago Vista 27N

Sounds like the Motoraid system is working as it should, check your manuals in the plumbing section. Fred

The fr3 is nice. Is it true FR has high quality ratings? Who is doing the ratings? In numerous "surveys" 80% of current owners would buy another unit from the same manufacturer. I would suggest spending as much time researching a manufacturer reputation as possible. I would not hesitate to guess almost all have "Ghost's In The Closet", even the million dollar units, they just treat their customers better, eliminating bad comments. Fred

RE: Ever had your mirrors hit by a pasing truck?

Yes, driving the Freeways in Los Angeles, I now traverse the area only on weekends, truck traffic is almost nil. Fred

Google store has the Android App "Weather Pro", you have a full list of alert notifications, plus a map indicating the alerts. The App follows you eliminating the need to keep updating locations. Fred

RE: Microsoft Streets & Trips Program

For planning purposes and what-ifs and just sitting around daydreaming it is a great program right now and for years into the future. Possibly when driving down the road nearest cities with recent freeway construction and such you might want to fall back to an online app but I have no plans of abandoning S&T for a long long time. X2, it's a great planning tool. I don't look at any one program as the "Holly Grail" of trip planning. The final years route is input into GPS, which is kept up-to-date, any additional information is extracted from our phones. Fred

RE: Happy Camper or Frustrated Owner?

Happy Camper, I do preventative maintenance in the Spring time, check all systems a couple of times prior to leaving. Use extensive check lists prior to leaving and during each trip. We normally travel 5-6 months each year. Fred

RE: Problems towing a Ford Focus

"On vehicles equipped with an automatic transmission, remove the negative (black) cable from the battery before towing. When finished towing, start the engine within 15 minutes of reconnecting the battery cable." This information came from the 2012 FMCA Towing Guide. Fred

RE: Difference in levelers

I believe the pad dimensions are more important, small footprints will dig into parking surfaces. I am noticing more RV parks with asphalt surfaces, requiring block under the levelers. Fred
