RE: Allison 1000

Here is Allison's current list of approved fluids. TES 295 is the only standard they are now using. Allison Approved Fluids Fred

RE: Allison 1000

I haven't switched to Transynd because I can get a case of Dexron iii for $20 at Costco. I do my own changes so it's cheap and easy. Check out the fluid you are using, Allison has dropped Dextron III from the approved listings, seems the formula has been changed. Fred

RE: Looking at new Gasser

They all have good points and bad points but in the long run, the floor plan is the most important. You will spend more time sitting in the coach than you will driving it. X2, floor plans are supreme, after all you will spend most of your time standing still. Fred

RE: Results from Battery Tender Solar Maintainer

I use a 10W BT on my chassis battery, and a 15W on the coach batteries, great for storage. Fred

RE: National Sea Breeze 8311LX

Of course I'm prejudice, we have owned 3 Dolphins over the years. You are right, National coaches are among the best gas coaches. We marvel at how manufacturers claim they have a new/great feature, that we have on our 9 year old coach. Look at floor plans and fabric combinations, while maybe not perfect, if it's interior furniture or wrong colors they can be easily changed. Winnebago is also a good choice, be aware many shorter coaches have "Short" queen beds. National RV used standard queen beds. Good Luck in your search. Fred

RE: DP vs Gas on Pulling

To me it's a matter of being practical I don't like driving long distances, yes I want the unit to handle well, but when stopped, all chassis are equal. Fred

RE: What is your transmission temperature

Exercised the unit today, 70 degree OAT, flat terrain, 65 MPH 167 degrees. In the summer, towing, OAT in the 80-90 degree range, it moves up to 180, going up a hard climb 205-220 degrees. Fred

Keep in mind, you got a super deal, because the selling dealer will never see you for warranty repairs. Fred

RE: I was an IDIOT for buying a Thor Palazzo!!!

As I surf the interwebs for Palazzo pictures (because I am still without one) I came across this photo. It is obvious there is a problem with something. Can any one spot it? We have to keep in mind we are normally dealing with sales/marketing types, most don't have a clue on processes. I watched a production marketing video praising their process, only some of the glue jets were clogged, who knows how many units were produced improperly. Fred

RE: 2015 Monaco Dynasty - HORRIFIED!!!

Jim, I don't think the majority of their future customers will care. I saw the title and thought it was another major F up but this doesn't seem like a big deal to me. I'd be more concerned about overall fit and finish than chassis type. As long as it works, then it's done its job IMO. X2, Momma don't crawl under the unit, she wants good stuff inside. Fred

RE: I was an IDIOT for buying a Thor Palazzo!!!

The GM and Thor agreed that a unit of our same color was to be "transported" between The Factory and my CW. I got almost daily updates from the GM. Interestingly enough the day I was called and told that this supposed Palazzo had just came in the GM was on vacation. Someone got their wires crossed apparently and it just made a bad situation worse. So, is this just another stall? The impression I get is CW cannot be trusted to make it right, or follow through. Just who is running the store? Fred
