RE: New Cougar Fifth Wheel

Getting new fifth wheel, just wish we could hire someone to do the PDI. I am no profesional but I am fairly knowledgable and live close to you. If you have any questions on how a system operates I would happily try and help you out.

RE: Coldbrook Campsites NY - Morgan RV

What is going on here? Is it going to open? We have reservations this summer. http://saratogian.com/articles/2013/04/25/news/doc5179d7a8dcbc0920288135.txt Coldbrook is under the receivership control of Janus Hotels and Resorts as are most of the old Morgan properties. They are keeping the parks open and in much better shape in order to entice a buyer. They are also honoring all previous reservations. I would call the office directly to verify though. 978-355-2090

RE: Superglide killed my inner child! Slider or Sidewinder?

I wonder if the hitch bound because you had the "jam" nut was adjusted to tight and NOT because you did not spray it with WD40. Thats my guess as a satisfied Superglide user.

RE: Komfort brand 5Th wheels?

Sure, It is obvious I know nothing about Komfort, that's why I wanted to tour the plant! ... I was satisfied with user reports but was turned away by the people who actually build them... I don't think that's being negative; just adding my experience... Isn't that what the forum is about? You are certainly injecting negative thoughts when you say "I just figured Komfort had something to hide or were ashamed of" " but your right that this is a public forum and you do have the right to say that. Let me add that my wife works for a corporation that manufactories unquestionably the finest hydraulic valves on the market and no you cant have a tour of how they do it either. The fact that Komfort does not give tours should not automatically raise any flags. It is there business decision or possibly there insurers business decision. It may be something as simple as it is a unsafe environment due to there factory size.......who knows.

RE: Komfort brand 5Th wheels?

Looks like a great thread for me to picture whore :) We have a 2012 Komfort 3530 and we have been very pleased with both the trailer and the support from Dutchman. Besides a few minor warranty fit and finish issues everything has been good. My biggest beef was the lack of cleanup. I am still cleaning sawdust and wood chips from under furniture and in corners. We purchased the trailer due to the interior quality and amenities that are upgrades on most others. I had a little user error last season that destroyed the outside kitchen door that was totally my fault and when I contacted Dutchman about a purchasing a replacement they said no worries and shipped me a door no charge and let me tell that was no small door. I can recommend the product. http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c342/garysol1/IMG_2076.jpg

RE: Family camping in Ohio

We live in Avon and camp with our 12 year old daughter and sometimes our 18yo son joins us. We primarily camp at Roundup Lake near Aurora which admittedly has been having some issues lately. We also camp at the Point sometimes as well as Evergreen in Mt Eaton Ohio. We try to hit the MD beach's once a season as as well.

RE: Describe Road from Sandusky, OH, to Cedar Point Resort

Little if any drop. The map may show a drop but the road is pancake flat and smooth. No issues. 4 lanes of black top.

RE: Campgrounds near drag strips?

I just camp at the track when I go. I'm usually racing there for the weekend. Most tracks do t have a problem if you camp. I'll be a Norwalk OH at Summit Motorsports park at the end of July for the Oldsmobile meet. What kind of car do you race? JKaz I was going to say Norwalk as well. There are hookups right at the fence that line the track on the spectator side. If you like the shows Night Under Fire is one of the best.

RE: Florida winter walk in

Seems like a big expense to have an RV on a site and not be used. How about a camping cabin which some of the parks have. Not disagreeing.....It is an expense for sure but its still less than a week on a cruise ship and if our camper is sitting there waiting on us there is a much better chance of us taking the time out of our life to go and relax.

RE: Florida winter walk in

I haven't stayed at any parks in Vero Beach but I have just north of there - Sebastian, Malabar, Melbourne. The thing about snowbird parks is that it's mostly retirees. They're the ones who can take off for several months while kids are still in school up north. I guess yours is home schooled? Our daughter is still in school and the wife still holds a job so we are not quite snowbirding but more like weekend and holiday snowbirders :) The family will be able to use the trailer for about 3 weeks total throughout the winter and I may be able to get down for a few weeks more than that. That is the main reason we do not want to bounce from park to park. There may be times when the trailer will stand empty for a few weeks at a time while we are all back in Ohio and I do not want to have to make the 15 hour drive down to FL just to reposition the trailer. As for Vero Beach my wife has an office there and it would allow for her to get down there that much easier.

Florida winter walk in

Spring is barely in the air and the wife and I throwing around some ideas for next winter. We think we want to pull the fifth wheel down to somewhere in South Florida in Late December and leave it on a site through March before bringing it back to Ohio. The RV park we find has to be family friendly and not a 55+ type park that is so prevalent and must have a pool for our 11 year old. With all that said here is my question. We really do not want to commit to this plan yet and we may not be able to until November. Typically how far in advance must someone reserve a site in a nice park in South Florida for the winter months? Is it a terrible bad idea just to hit the road and see whats available when we get there? We do not want to have jump from park to park. We want to find that one nice park and stay there for the duration. Anyone have any recommendations for a nice family park that is close to Vero Beach FL?

RE: Dutchmen Infinity Owners Chime In Please

yeah.. I understand any level can have issues... just wanted feedback on the Infinity. I have heard better things about Komfort than Infinity. That surprises me a bit. I was under the impression that besides floor plans and a few upgrades that the Infinity and the Komfort are very similarly built. I would "think" that any review of Komfort would apply to Infinity and vice versa....

RE: Dutchmen Infinity Owners Chime In Please

we have a 2012 Dutchman Komfort 3530 which is very very similar to the Infinity line but a step down on interior goodies. Our Dutchman has provided us with very good service and only a few minor issues as I would expect from any new trailer. We did have a mishap which was purely user error and Dutchman stepped right up and took care of us. So my answer is yes, we would buy another one. As for the quality question our Komfort seems to be on par with most of the other trailers on the market that we looked at. It is not Mobile Suites quality if that is what your looking for but it is also not a 100k rig.

RE: RV resorts foreclosure sales

and I am just not sure whether to be worried at this point or not. I would be worried. Bankruptcy means the courts have decided that their debt exceeds their net worth and all of the assets will be sold off until all of the debtors are paid or all of the assets are liquidated, whichever comes first. Assuming they have different loans from different banks on separate properties does foreclosure on SOME of those properties equal bankruptcy for the entire company? I don't know.

RE: RV resorts foreclosure sales

I have been trying to search and find out if Morgan is at risk for loosing all of there properties at this time or if it is going to be a slow steady decline. Does anyone have any insight on how this foreclosure stuff works when the parent company owns so many different properties and what typically happens to these properties after foreclosure? What about the peoples RV's that are on the property at the time of the foreclosure? We have a seasonal site at a Morgan park (Roundup Lake) for the upcoming season and they have a nice size wad of our money and I am just not sure whether to be worried at this point or not.
