RE: Big, Big problem with my fresh water tank!!!!

As mentioned above, I would add bleach, allow it to sit 24 or more hours then rinse. I would repeat the process a few times.
Then, I would fill the tank and allow it to sit for 24 hour and get the water tested. If there's anything nasty in the tank maybe the people who test the water can recommend something to eliminate the problem.
Or, just get the nasty water tested and see what it is before doing anything.
Let us know how you solve the problem and what caused the problem.

RE: Am I Lazy? Need to Wash the RV

Here's how to use Red Max Pro & Bar Keepers Friend. You probably can't get Red Max any more, Zep is the same thing, it just costs a little more.
It did a great job on our 96 Southwind.
Take your time, you don't have to do the whole rig in one day if you're not up to it.
Don't use the wax on the roof.

WOW! I bet you didn't have any trouble finding a camping/boondocking spot.
I don't like leaving the house if it's below 32F.

RE: Tires

You might check on Hankook...great tires.
x2. I replaced the Michelin tires on our 96 Southwind with Hankook tires. I like them and, I'll buy Hankook again.

RE: Pro's and Con's of Driver side door?

All things being equal I would pick the unit with the drivers door. If the unit I was considering did not have a drivers door, it would not be a deal breaker.
I use the drivers door fairly often. I consider it a convenience.

RE: Blocking Access To Gas Stations

You could have taken a picture, got the equipment number and reported it to UPS. Maybe the company can prevent it from happening again.

RE: Hershey Pa to Clinton CT

Did you consider taking I-81 north to Scranton and then take I-84 east into New England?
It's probably about 35-40 miles longer but, you bypass NYC.
To me it's much less stressful than fighting the city traffic.
We use this route when going to Maine.

RE: Bummer - found a tear in my roof

If you cleaned the area well and applied the Eternabond properly, you won't have any problems. It is a great product.

RE: picking gas stations

This does not help find gas stations but, when I find one that has easy access I list it in a log for future use. It helps when planning gas stops on routes I've previously traveled.

In the yard on a gravel pad. Plugged into shore power 24/7.
I use a cover in the winter.

RE: is there a class C that is small enough to not need a toad ?

I knew some people who sold their car and used their Class C as a daily driver. It was about a 24' unit.
It worked for them.

RE: Do you carry any sort of emergency ladder inside your rig?

I think if there is a raging fire, locating, deploying, and using a rope ladder would not be my primary focus. will take my chances diving out or sliding out of my window. and a rope ladder lying against the RV wall would be difficult to use. if you can turn around and get your feet on a ladder rung, you can easily just drop to the ground.
bumpy
I agree. With a fire burning, it's releasing a lot of deadly fumes. Get out as quickly as possible. Even if you break or sprain an ankle it will be worth it to get get away from the fire.
I think many of have seen RV fires posted on the forum. They burn hot and fast.

RE: Stuck with Rude Neighbors Argh...

Revenge is sometimes a dish best served, NEVER. In a few days you won't even be thinking about tonight. Just let it be.
You are correct, it's best to let it go.
But, it's sooooo much fun thinking about it. :)
