RE: Must See Suggestions: St. Louis, MO to Sioux Falls, SD

I second the Henry Doorly Zoo. You can easily spend a whole day there and Mahoney State Park west of Omaha on I-80 is a great place to stay. The SAC Museum is located there also and well worth the time. It would be best to check on reservations at Mahoney as it is a popular place.

RE: Direct TV

I use the round dish when on the road and take along one of the HD DVR's from the house. Stick home has the slimline dish.
It works fine. All I have to do is program the correct dish when setting up.
x2....I take one of our DVRs on the road and we watch movies recorded on HD at home for entertainment.

RE: 3/4 ton vs 1 ton ride

My 2010 3500 Ram dually rides much better than my 04 Ram 2500 did. As stated earlier I think some has to do with the longer wheel base and also the change Dodge made in the suspension and cab dampening of the new Rams.

RE: Firefox, Chrome, or Safari?

I use Chrome most and like Ghostery with it to stop tracking. Firefox is 2nd choice and new Safari seems to be making some headway. I love Dolphin on my iPhone and iPad.

RE: IPhone Ringtones

I use Ringtonium app and create my own using my songs on my iPhone. It is fairly easy to use and just follow the directions. I assign different songs to each of our family members.

RE: B&W Companion

I love my BW Companion and would never change. I had a Reese on my other PU and had lots of slop. There is none with this setup.

RE: Diesel Additives ?

It is true that you can buy winterized fuel in colder climates. However in these areas most of the pumps don't have the winterized and it does cost more. Having lived in NE and CO all my life I do add anti gel additives when temps get down to O or below. It is no fun having a vehicle gel up when it is -20.

RE: Pop corn.

I have done it every way possible over the years. I got a Whirley Pop last year and love it. Pour in the oil and popcorn and stir until it quits popping. It is very simple and fast.

RE: Passport America

Stayed in a PA campground in DeSmet NE, Worse place we have ever been. It was a place to stay and we needed one, the review in PA website was great, charged me full price to stay in an area by the entry(not a RV site) and had a 20 amp piggyback to another site. Place looked like SH** and smelled that way too. Some Patiomats were so old there were weeds growing thru the mats. One SH**y place was enough, I'll drive all night rather than stay in another PA campground.
DeSmet SD I would guess.
We made our money back and then some the first time we used it.

RE: They're gonna go camping! Outside! In an RV! Ugh!

We were married in 1970 and took an Apache popup camper and spent our honeymoon in CO. It is now 42+ years later and we moved to CO this year and are still loving camping here.

RE: The RVs in your life

We have had several different camping methods. We started with a Lake N Shore popup truck camper, then on to a 24' Road Ranger travel trailer, downsized to tent camping with kids in college, then a 29' 5th wheel and now our current 37' 5th wheel. We have tried it all in our 42 yrs of marriage and still love traveling.

RE: Are you a 2nd generation RVer? What was your parent's rig?

We started in an Apache popup which my folks used for quite a few years. My wife and I took it on our honeymoon to CO. They then got a 1973 Mobile Traveler motor home. They used it for 30 yrs. and my brother just sold it last year and it was still running strong.

RE: updating an iPhone 4s to io6?

I updated mine with no problems. My battery life if also better but I have started closing apps that run in the background. I recharged it last nite and it is still at 87% when it normally was at about 60% this time of day.

RE: Bed liners

I had a drop in liner and all it did was wear the paint in the box and allow rust to start. I now have Line X and would never change to anything else.
